Welcome to the channel
I have the Original SG906 "The Beast" (Not the pro). It was my first drone purchase, after watching "The Captain" review of it. These are Great starter drones, if you want to dabble into the hobby and see it's going to be for you. What I absolutely didn't like was the HFunPro app, the functions in the app were NOT very responsive for me everytime, I had it out, (android user Galaxy S10 at that time).
But honestly that was ok, for it being my starter drone, I was mainly trying just learning what features I will be more particularly about and what could live without, when looking for my future drone at the time.
Which end up being the dji mini2. (thanks again for that purchase, Steve). Like everyone else I made the attempt to win one during the contest.......
Now wanting to get a taste of the FPV, been really enjoying all these FPV kit reviews.

Very good. I have the version without card slot and without guimbal.This version has improved a lot compared to the previous one even in the battery issue that increased the amperage. Show .👍👍

I have viewed a number of your reviews of late. I ALMOST bought this drone. Going by the seller's page which does list the weight as 242grams. I am really pleased you actually weigh these. You saved me a foul! LOL
Hi Mr captain drone 😅 so I can’t find the button to that round and nose up turn around thing what button is it? I did the 🎥) rolling button can you please help me it won’t work and everything is working like the lights are flashing after that thing you said to do with the remote but after that step it won’t work 😢please help even after 1 yr after the upload ❤

excellent drone but I have a problem with the hfunpro app does not work on my iphone it asks me to activate local network but in the settings on hfunpro there is no one of you has this problem how to solve it ??? help please

Is there difference between pro and non pro?
@@michellearneson5961 pro has gimbal, non pro doesnt. Non pro also has no sd card slot.

What a great drone for the price!,🤠ideal for practice when we dont want to risk our dji drone,its good to get a little basher we can practice with,the camera looks ok,and no jello so thats good,and also i love the strobe at the front,if the drone was black it would look like a mini knight rider of the air😁 thanks captain.

because mine only flies in GPS mode when I turn off the gps the blades turn but when I turn on the gas they stop
Nice drone, flys well. Same style or shape as the DJI mini. Also available in black and white. The orange looks good.

Captain drone, you said it in your video and I agree, another budget drone with another budget camera and all the budget features.
The price seems to have come down by about half what they used to cost. Still looking for a price reduction on DJI. Thanks again, awesome video keep up the good work.
Videos i have seen regarding compass calibration. Some have rotated the drone clockwise, others anti clockwise and horizontal up or down makes no difference either. Just an observation. Nice review Steve.👍

Nice drone and Review!!! I'm thinking about getting a cheaper 2-axis gimbal drone that is small as a backup to my mavic mini. I just want something that would be good for videos and photos, that i would take with me without having to worry about breaking my mavic mini. This is a consideration. If you have any other options like this one, please tell me. Thank You

Hey Captain, I purchased the SG108 PRO at the first of the month and was very excited when I saw you were doing a review on it. I got it yesterday and flew it last night, did good until I hit RTH ,it wouldn't clear the tree's end I couldn't figure out how to change the RTH Attitude ,any help. Thanks
The return to home height is fixed and it is higher than trees (approx 25 to 30 meters).

Hello Captain Drone! What is the star indicator in the SG108 Pro drone app for? The one I bought as SG108 Pro only flew for 8-12 mins, but the product description is 25 mins
The star is geomagnetic interference. After a couple of full charges the battery will get better. It should fly for 20 minutes easily when it is not too cold.
Hello, thanks for the review. I was looking for a decent cheaper drone for my godson and this one seems perfect. I do have a question for you though. How long did it take for you to receive your order? I placed my order on May 10th and although it says 7 to 15 days for shipping, even when I look at the status it still says processing instead of dispatched. Thank you for your help.
7 to 15 BUSINESS days, which means over a month with postal shipping. If the item is popular then it could be out of stock due to selling to many countries around the globe.
I would comment on how great it is but it is awfully hard to do that sitting and arm chair quarter backing behind a screen.
Hi Captain Drone, very nice review video. I came across it because someone just sent me a new one of these and I need to learn. I happen to own an iphone SE. It's wi-fi platform is 802.11ax.. It is my understanding that this drone uses 802.11ac. My 802.11ax is backward compatible to the 802.11ac so there should be no problems there. Reality isn't quite as nice however as my phone will easily hook up to the drone's network address but
the HFUN app tells me I'm not connected. I've gone through every setting in my iphone and anything to could possible related I turned it on but to no avail. i then took my wife's iphone 7 which used the 802.11ac platform and put a copy of HFUN on hers, still to no avail.
Any ideas would be great. One final question, do you know what video format the drone takes videos in? OSX or MS-DOS
If your wondering why I pestering you it's because you appear knowledgeable about this drone, and to be honest I can't find tech help for this anywhere.

Connect to wifi first, then open the APP.... never the other way around. Also there are different HFUN apps, make certain you are using the correct one.

Captain Drone there is a reason why they wrote 249gr - it's because the SG108 MAX can use even the SG108 battery that is more lighter and 2.200 mah instead of 3000 mah and with that one it fits 249gr.

That seems way better than my eachine with no gimbal or camera control. This one is even brushless! Looks like a good one compared to what was available at that price just a year ago.

The video (stabilised by the gimbal?) appears somewhere between DJI and 2015/18 era Chinese drones, not bad at all
This drone is a great starter drone, I purchased the sg108 in black and the SG108 pro in orange. Also since it's identical to the dji mini, most dgi mini accessories will fit this drone with no issues.. Thanks for the video.. 👍👍

@@michellearneson5961 The only difference between the pro and non pro models is the 2 axis gimble on the pro version and the included SD card slot on the bottom side. The non pro version has the fixed camera that only goes up and down and not side to side, also it doesn't have an SD card slot

@@michellearneson5961 My pro version just arrived yesterday in the mail and I'll be flying it later today. Both I would assume would fly equally the same but maybe a better image on the pro due to the 2 axis gimble but other than that it seems like the motors are identical and the same with the range specs. To answer your question I'd say yes to both being a great beginner drone. I plan on getting the Mavic Mini 2 soon but I needed to get the hang of flying first on a non expensive drone and ended up purchasing these two models

Does your phone have 5.8Ghz (802.11 ac) WiFi?
Does the drone show up in the list of available networks on your phone?
If it is connected and you don't have video, then go to the settings on your phone, select the drone, and click 'FORGET'. Then connect again and start the app.
yes sir, it appears in the phone, even while flying it suddenly cuts connection with the drone, so the only thing I can do when the apps goesoff is fly it using the controller ...

Yes. But they have a small staff and they are slow to respond (from what I am told). GEPRC drones are often also sold on Banggood, and if you order through Banggood, then Banggood bugs them to ship the drone quickly.
