Can confirm: you need to do the *whole chapter* and not load a certain map :)

not the whole chapter. you need to start from the beginning to actually start the achievement like it said "in chapter Interloper" and only UNTIL you see the lasers begin to make a lot of circles (around you and a bit after when theres a lot of jump pads).
As of 12/29/22 - Firstly, type achievement_reset BMS_LASER_IMMUNIZATION in console
- Secondly, don't use quick saves and quick loads ( I didn't use them and I got the achievement )
- Thirdly, you can use autosaves NOT QUICK SAVES OR MANUAL SAVES
- Fourthly, you can complete this achievement from map bm_c4a3b1 until the room with many jumpads. This is what worked for me.
How come? What changed on 12/29/22? Did the devs address this?

You can quick save, at least now you can. I just got it with quick saving before every laser lol. I honestly don't have any idea what was preventing me from getting it the first few runs. but i know for a fact i started chapter 17 on Black Mesa difficulty from main menu, then save scumed my way through the chapter like the other 3 times i did it.
you can probably actually do all of these as of 7/16/24.
Alright, for anyone who is still doing this, (2024) you *can* use quicksaves before every laser, this is confirmed. I did not use console commands or anything, I finally got the achievement by completing the laser rooms and jumping up top where all the jump pads were before you get to the spire before Nihilanth.

This achievement is bugged af, I literally did the achievement 3 times so far and it still didn't register, I did pepperoni precipitation along with this achievement and i got my pepperoni precipitation achievement but not this. I did quick save between each lasers coming towards me, I kept an eye on my health as well it still didn't work, I did the chapter from the beginning I bet there's something missing probably the whole save related thing or something else

One Man Gaming I’ve beat the game 5-6 times so far, and I completed the achievement without making saves just using previous auto saves to get through and it worked I didn't make any small saves and it worked better and I finally got all the achievements

Just a handy note: The achievement is granted once you jump off of the final set of boost pads that follow the triple boost pads you see at the end of this video.

i start in the beginning of interloper,not touched any laser and i still not get badge
I don't know if quick and manual saves can be used, but I got this achievement using autosave. It was not difficult and not long.
I was dying several times from laser, I don't use manual saves, only auto-saves and I got this achievement :) Hint; when laser touch you for the first time, you should allow them to kill you, then auto-load and just play until you pass them without damage
Alright, time to do this achievement while also trying to get the hat achievement, hopefully this wont be hell

This achievement seems very broken, si broken you have to use the dev console which is a major problem
They should fix it
Ill focus on everything else first, i had more fun carrying that hat around than trying those damn lasers

so you're saying that if i quick save when the chapter loads, right after the gonarch fight, im locked out of the achievement forever?
I just did the achievement. It's way easier than most people think. You can't use any quicksaves ore quickloads during the entire chapter. Manual saves and loads however are ok. Getting hit by an enemy laser attack is 100% ok. The only lasers that cannot touch are the static ones. If you are unsure if you got hit by a lazer ore not you can manually load your last manually save.
Well I've only use manual loads/saves and I didn't get de achievement. I guess it's only auto saves/loada
@@FZtech1 i heard that many people had the problem where the achievement would be bugged so they had to reset their achievements via a console command. I didn't need to do that so i can't really help you with that sorry.
Did you start at the beginning of interloper, or were you able to just load the specific map and start there?
disstrackted I started at the beginning of the chapter as the description said Interloper. Didn’t know if it would work if I ‘d started on the first puzzle.

This is next on my hit parade 46/50 .I like many thought I was clean when I played this chp. a few days ago but it didnt pop up.

5:31 is the single most difficult part of this achievement
I really dont understand what the deal is with this a achievement. If I get hit with a laser where do I load back to start over? If it's anything like the Gargan den achievement and you cant save before you do the run, then where am I supposed go.
Temp3st60 you can save anywhere. Just beat the level without taking any damage from lasers.
One Man Gaming - I did that, but still didn’t get it . Each time I hit a laser I immediately loaded from a previous safe save. Still didn’t get it. Do I have to get it in one perfect run?
SH3RIFFO AFAIK you don’t need it. Did you beated the game at least once? Did you start the chapter from the beginning?. Follow all the steps off the pinned comment. Saving and loading worked fine for me. Can’t tell ya more than that.
So if you take laser damage, can you just reload a save before you got hit?
1. You must start at Interloper Chapter ( not load the certain map in the console )
2. You can Quick Save or Manual Save for the whole Interloper Walkthrough (If you answer the question above)
3. If you get damage by any Xen creatures, it will not count as fail. However, if you get damage by laser, just load

Hi, just unlocked this achievement right now and I can confirm that getting hit by vortigaunt slaves DOESN'T count as mistake and DON'T block the achievement. Finished the whole chapter in my main walkthrough (so without choosing chapter in main menu, just during playthrough), get hit by vort's lightnings and shockwaves a few times (cause I don't kill them and also cargo a hat) and still get the achievement (with PhD in Pacifism at the same time, yay).
I didn't use your guide, sorry, but I watch it to confirm that I catch a bug with laser chamber on 3:30. It was really a bug so I just load earlier save and beat it without probs which means it's still helpful for me, thanks)

Confirming this. Just unlocked the achievement despite being hit numerous times by vortigaunt rays.

Yes. Just got the achivement then and quicksaved the whole way (as I was also carrying the pizza). Getting hit by a laser and the quickloading to before you were hit by the laser is fine. I heard manual saving voids the achievement so I didn't manual save once.
@@AzteciusI manual saved and still got the achievement because I had read about ppl saying that quicksaving/loading (which is my default method of saving) making the achievement not count. There seems to be a bit of conflicting advice about this achievement.
you CAN use quick saves, but you CAN'T use quick LOADS! You CAN also use manual saves and LOADS TOO.

The xen section of this game is so bad Im just happy with having 48/50 achievements that's how insufferable it is.
This is the Last Achievement I need to complete in the Game. I did both endings with delivering that Hat and Pizza Xen I used the Spawn Command.
Buddha Cheat helped me stay alive. After this I'll have sv_infiniteammo 1 and god on.
Nice bro. I did the hat achievement the legit way, and when I saw that there was another achievement with almost the same thing, I said "fuck it" and spawned the pizza on Nihilanth's portal
