Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Peter. You've really spoken to me. I've struggled with really "enjoying" doing art for a long time. I am 'talented'-- in the idea that I can make art that people like, that people will buy and find desirable. I can, and have, made a living off of art for years now. But the act of creating has always been very miserable for me. Watching your videos tonight has really opened me up to the idea of wanting to find a way to do art that is enjoyable to myself. I don't know if I'll ever find that art, but I think I'll keep trying in hopes that I do.
Your commentary specifically on the idea of artist's block and not wanting to create spoke to me pretty deep. I write this comment at a sort of crux in my life-- a time when I've decided to give up on art and the internet in and of itself. But just the radical (well, maybe not so radical) idea that it's okay to take a break was just so... cleansing to me? Like wiping my jumbled, line filled brain clean with an eraser. Maybe I've been so backed into the idea that I need to keep going, keep drawing, keep improving, that I've totally wrecked myself. Maybe it's time for a break, but not for good.
I know when I was younger, when I wasn't so conventionally 'good' at art, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Maybe I need to go back and tap into what I did back before I was so concerned with improving that made me happy. Again, I don't know how successful I'll be... but I'll keep trying, keep watching your videos to clear my mind and get back to a happy mind state with art.
With some effort, maybe art and I can see eye to eye again.
    Thanks again, Peter.

youre amazing peter. thank you. between you, my fiancée and bob ross, in the last two months after not drawling or doodling for any long period of time, i picked up as you say "my piece of pen and paper" and havent been able to stop, learning new shading technique..learning to let go of the worry wart pre sketching i always knew. youve brought back art to my life.. im 30.. and its been about 15 years since i was serious about expressing myself..and this is how ive always done it, so again thank you sir.

Maan.. i love this channel... i like watching people drawing.. but with regular drawings i tend to get bored after one or two drawings.. but what i love about this is the randomness.. is a lot of what i used to do on my books.. i used to just draw random lines..and connect them and wasnt really thinking about a specific drawing.. it might not be the most difficult art.. but its very calming and nice!!

    Peter...
Unless it's not for any of us to know...There is OBVIOUSLY a lot of little hidden easter eggs in this video compilation....
With the references to the triangle (which shows up in some of your other videos - Like the triangle of white on your left hand in a splatter painting....) and things like the hands, pipe, and a multitude of other little gems, both in the art and in the 'shot'.
I LOVE this element and do something similar in both my music, liners, poetry and sketches - But not video and sketches and stuff - I was pleasantly surprised!
As always, profoundly love your videos and art!

    Dear Peter,
I just turned 20 years old. about 3 years ago i had hit the end of a major art making spree and i felt like i was at the end of my creative road, i was lost in a state of confusion of where to go next and how to understand why i had hit such a brick wall. like you said in this video, i felt like i should be making art but i just didnt feel like doing it. ive been living in a state of borderline despair ever since, occasionally forcing myself to just create somthing even tho it felt nearly painful to sit there and just draw. and today i saw your Video, Peter, and i must give you the biggest thank you i can possibly muster in words. hearing what you said about art and composing and life truly HEALED MY HEART, man. i feel alive and okay with myself in where i stand with art in a way i havent felt in a long, long time. it makes me want to shed a tear, honestly. thank you for the giant glass of life that were your words, which has quenched the thirst my soul has been yearning for for what seems like a very graphically lonely amount of time. i love you man, thank you for being alive on this planet and im very grateful the light of your soul has reached me.

I like drawing like that, sort of just drawing without any plan abstract but organic looking images.I drew not long ago an image that ended up looking like an anatomy illustration even though I hadn't planned on it.I tend to spend more time on shading though than outlines, putting in shadows and highlights, trying to imagine reflections distorting on surfaces.
