I LOVE that lady in green! She's out of the house, she's at an exercise class, and she made it right the way through, by the look of it. More power to you, lady - you're a zillion steps ahead most of us!

this is a great example of what Zumba is all about... not everyone has the same style or can keep up. the instructor obviously was trying to show us WHAT it's all about... and probably does help students keep up and learn the moves eventually.

BE the lady In the green shirt Scemo!!! She's out there getting herself in better shape and not being afraid of what she looks like. She'll be looking a lot better & more coordinated sooner because she's there, not sitting at her computer watching someone else.

I zumba on Fridays in my area but I have to say that you teach a MUCH better class than I'm used to! Of course, the moves look familiar, but your method of giving direction is AWESOME! You're so much easier to follow than my instructor! Loved the vid!

I'm going to my first ever zumba class tonight, and this video has provided brilliant insight to a wary beginner. the moves are basically things i do when i'm pratting about in my dining room to music *giggles* i've been doing dance moves without realising it!

this is so much better than the ordinary old boring aerobic class where the instructors that I saw have flabby tummy and arms.. I open group exercise class that combines many types of dance and the result is great. My members like it. DANCE works more than running. Keep it up. I like your spirit..

The lady up front in the blue reminds me of my zumba teacher. Its funny, I didn't think I'd like zumba because I don't like dancing all too much, or following other peoples dance moves, but just a week in zumba and I've been dancing anywhere that plays zumba like music, including stores in the mall. Super fun when other people join in too.

I love that Zumba has people dancing/getting moving. And, it's critical to bring a fun but safe dance experience. Limited guidance limits our ability to gain flexibility/agility/mobility/strength/stability - that is safe where our bodies are. Many are injured/frustrated doing Zumba, when it's only about "exciting, fun moves".
Want to move at your level/range of motion, with steps, alignment bringing safe fun movement with a wide range of great music? Try Nia.

I joined the Zumba party two weeks ago. I attend just once on a Friday night. It is an hour class. I'll just say I'm over 60, not a lot over, but over. I've always loved dancing. Anyway, the first night I probably did about 25 min of the hour class. The following week about 40 minutes. So, I'm expecting to complete the hour soon. You just keep moving if you can't keep up. Its fun, and the music is great.

I agree with sashia324 about "what is Zumba" . As far as teaching Zumba. You as an individual taking the class has to be more considerate that teaching a Zumba class or any other class is a totally a new dimension and also a learning curve for the instructor to improve in their teaching abilities. It's a skill that improves in time. You can't always please everyone. So have fun and join the party : )

@Chib1Chan most instructors do not break down the steps. It's not a dance class, it's a fitness class. the main idea is to get your heart rate up and keep it there for 45 min - hour. You'll do fine! It takes 3-4 weeks to get comfortable with the routines.
