I appreciate it! Please check out some of my more recent videos for better quality such as Kid Charlemagne - Steely Dan, solo jazz fingerstyle guitar arrangement by Jake Reichbart
We used to play this in Gm, it was a gig-ender. Lead solo at the end was always a gift. I played that Fender Strat chanelling anyone I fancied; the chord progression being so universaly beautiful. Couldn't go wrong. But this is beautifully played and constructed from the get-go, thanks again. Miraculous. Please keep this up.
Thanks very much! Although the essentials of this arrangement are good, please do check out some of my more recent stuff for much better video/audio quality such as this: Kid Charlemagne - Steely Dan, solo jazz fingerstyle guitar arrangement by Jake Reichbart
Received this DVD yesterday of this fine arrangement and tuition...the video quality is excellent and highly recommended. There are alternative approaches and improvised solo sections as well as really giving you an insight into the song and can't recommend the value of these DVD lessons enough...thanks Jake...got some work to do lol!
Thanks for the kind comment! If you have time, please check out my more recent videos for much better sound/picture/playing as well as more Steely Dan...
Thanks very much, I did get your email and replied! I have a much newer version of this song, audio only, much better sound and performance than this one, I’ll send you a copy…

Wow you play incredibly!...It's like I'm hearing Steely Dan's recording, plus! Discovered this song & "Only a Fool Would Say That" in just 2012. Treasures!
+hulahooper **〈〈))*8^} Thanks very much, please feel free to share! :-) And please make sure to check out my newer videos which are much better produced... Jake
I really enjoyed this rendition..you made it your own. I was expecting the Larry Carlton solo to be 'verbatim' because it's so perfect, but was pleasantly surprised!
Thank you. I don't even remember when i started doing this in E- but the reason is probably that by doing so I get more open string sounds which almost always sound better than fretted notes. If i did it in F-, I'd probably find a way to do it without a capo as I'm not used to using them. I'll try it on my gig tonight. Thanks again and please don't forget to subscribe!
I really appreciate it, I would also encourage you to check out my more recent recordings, this one is about 10 years old and poorly recorded, just today I uploaded my 481st solo guitar video, Dr. Wu also by Steely Dan, please check it out!
Great stuff! i just happen to be desperately get together a Steely dan cover band - but maybe i should just copy your chord melodies and go it alone ! its hard trying to find a decent bunch of jazz musis where i live :(
Thanks! This track and others appear on my CD "16 Songs". You can pick up a copy, or just a few tracks, at CDbaby. Look for it by CD title or under my name, Jake Reichbart. Thanks again!
Thanks! I get asked periodically about this and I can offer you the same: I'll make you a mixed custom CDr of however many tracks you'd like from my TH-cam videos and/or my CDs that will fit on one disk for 20 bucks plus S&H. Let me know if interested!

I hadn’t heard this arrangement before…..this is ridiculously beautiful. You have captured the song’s feel perfectly.
Thanks very much, I plan to rerecord this on the acoustic with better sound and video quality!
@@JakeReichbart I can’t wait to hear it!
Absolutuely flawless and passionate playing. Nothing more needs to be said. the playing speaks for itself.
Used to play this tune with my old band-favourite ever Dan tune-played Brilliantly-Absolutely!

Fantastic....Thank You
NICE!
I just ordered the CD. You could do an all-Steely Dan or all Beatles and I would buy!
You're great...
Francesco Mastriani Thanks very much! :-)
nice job
This is a little how I imagine it might sound if the great Johnny Smith had played it - great tone, strong but understated with fine musicianship.
I really appreciate it, I would also encourage you to check out my more recent recordings, this one is about 10 years old and poorly recorded, just today I uploaded my 481st solo guitar video, Dr. Wu also by Steely Dan, please check it out!

Cool!
I would buy a CD of your Steely Dan songs. Is it available? Excellent.
This is wonderful! You changed key down a 1/2 step?
excellent... Would love to see you Capo and do the same a half step up (F Original Key)

A fine arrangement. Just a question - Shouldn't that second chord - after the Em - be an inversion of a B7 (essentially)?
Thanks! I get asked periodically about this and I can offer you the same: I'll make you a mixed custom CDr of however many tracks you'd like from my TH-cam videos and/or my CDs that will fit on one disk for 20 bucks plus S&H. Let me know if interested!
