This song came out when I was a young teen, I always loved it & thought the name Desiree was absolutely beautiful. Little did I know that years later, I would be blessed with a daughter, who I named Desiree.. ❤🌹
We named our daughter Deserai, different spelling but we got the name from this song. If we had another daughter she would have been named Caroline....

I just listened to this a few days ago. I was out weed-eating and pulled up my ND playlist on my ipod. This song grabbed my attention the first time I played it. I wish there had been ipods and earbuds back in the 79's and 80's. My vinyl is all so gray and scratchy, but I still keep it. I don't why they brought back the vinyl, it's nowhere as clear as cds or digital. Thanks Doug!! I'm going to give it another play before I call it a night.

@@NeilDiamondCentral You know what really made me mad was when I'd be playing my brand new album and it would skip. Every time, the same spot. I don't ever want to go back to vinyl for my music. I don't think about it sounding warm, I just enjoy every bit of a song, from the voice to every instrument. I think one of the things that solidified my love for ND was his use of an orchestra, that really did something for me, I'm sure if I checked, my pulse rate would go up when I hear it, especially the intro on both HAN and Love at the Greek, that one gave me goosebumps for a long time, and still will do it. That man and his music "wrecked" me.

We named our daughter Deserai, different spelling but we got the name from this song. If we had another daughter she would have been named Caroline....

Still rocking after 50 years
I just listened to this a few days ago. I was out weed-eating and pulled up my ND playlist on my ipod. This song grabbed my attention the first time I played it. I wish there had been ipods and earbuds back in the 79's and 80's. My vinyl is all so gray and scratchy, but I still keep it. I don't why they brought back the vinyl, it's nowhere as clear as cds or digital. Thanks Doug!! I'm going to give it another play before I call it a night.

According to "audiophiles", vinyls produce a warmer sound as opposed to CDs/DVDs, which they claim are _"cold and clinical"._ It's CDs/DVDs for me, thank you, I put up with my fill of pop, crackle and hiss in the 60s and 70s. 😔

@@NeilDiamondCentral You know what really made me mad was when I'd be playing my brand new album and it would skip. Every time, the same spot. I don't ever want to go back to vinyl for my music. I don't think about it sounding warm, I just enjoy every bit of a song, from the voice to every instrument. I think one of the things that solidified my love for ND was his use of an orchestra, that really did something for me, I'm sure if I checked, my pulse rate would go up when I hear it, especially the intro on both HAN and Love at the Greek, that one gave me goosebumps for a long time, and still will do it. That man and his music "wrecked" me.

Listening to this song on June 3 and 4 is a tradition of mine.
