I think the system that Hurley runs is largely dependent on the holdovers that didn't play as much. I said this last year. The Hassan Diarra and Samson Johnson will be the key factors. They are glue guys....and they help the team come together. So, I am looking at it the same way this year...but with Stewart, Ross, and Ball. They are going to be the key. Their ability to take the next step in the progression.
Kind of reminds me of college football that one year you have a Heisman quarterback then the next year you start a quarterback who didn’t play at all the previous year but is still a really good player
I highly recommend the recent hour long interview with Hurley and Cal. A really fantastic interview that gives great insight into why those two men are on the college ball mount rushmore with K and Wooden
With this roster, I wouldn’t be surprised if you see this team do more pressing of some sort than years past. Until they figure out their exact offensive identity, it would be the next way Hurley shows he’s on another level.
This roster is more talented than a 20th- 25th ranked team. They are deep with a lot of talent Without Hurley they should at least be a 15th ranked team...
Rob - don't you think that Dan has been sneaky muted on this year's team? I can almost feel him holding back on expressing any superlatives. Probably his superstitious innards! Cannot wait for November!!!!!!!!!!!
He did say something about this being the most talented team he’s had from 1-10. And he’s probably not wrong. The depth is pretty crazy. But, they’ll need a couple of guys to step up and take the lead at some point. Hopefully, one of those guys will be Karaban.
@@shawna7813 Yeah, Matt Norlander tweeted that UConn stopped recruiting him after landing Mahaney. Word is that Brea was a bag Man and there were signs that he didn’t really fit the team first model.

Yes Dan is easily the best coach in basketball and his players don’t leave, that being said it’s a copycat game and coaches and programs will start to do everything he does maybe not exactly the same but other big programs can bring in better players from the portal because of money and now team will focus on beating Uconn and now they have a target on the back, he’s not going to be able to have the guys to win a national championship every year but his coaching can make a team that’s usually a top 25 team a top 10 team I’m not a UConn fan at all and I’m really scared of how Dan is I think if he wins 2 more he might lose some edge or he might go for Dean Smith John Woodson and Mike and try to be the greatest ever, but I think this sport is the hardest sport to go back to back not just basketball but college basketball if he wins one more in the next 10 years he’s already top 3 coach all time, I don’t think they win this year but he will have them in the conversation I wonder how he adapts once coached learn how to beat him
the offense will be fine, defense yet to be seen but with enough tools to be elite. clingan loss big, but abraham can replace castle. they just need to shut down coop to three peat.
Yeah, they lost the best defensive player in the country and I think people sleep on how important Clingan really was. I feel like the defense will take a step back and the O will take a step forward. That’s my hope, at least.
While it's virtually impossible to replace Clingan, I think a beefier Slamson to go with an already athletic and beefy Reed will be a nasty one/two punch for teams to contend with this year. I expect UConn to be a top team in blocked shots and rebounding this year

3 peat this year ? 🏆🏆🏆
This team is deep, that's both a pro and con because of having so many choices.
I’ve been waiting for this episode

Diarra-Mahaney-Karaban-McNeeley-Reed game 1. Stewart and Johnson off the bench with Ball and Nowell.
Samson will start

I'm not sure why they are talking about whether or not Hurley is going to be at UConn next season
I agree with elite 8 would be successful with yhis new team also What does the guy on the left keep looking at to his right when Fanta is talking. Lol
Rob is usually watching something on his TV
Hurley will use his formula until somebody figures it out go huskies
As Miley says it’s the climb
Karaban played some 5 in the Championship
They can make a run nobody has seen b4 they finally get the recruits the other blue bloods normally got 3 peat im talking 5 peat

I can see how people can dislike Hurley. Especially fans of other teams. But, CBB needs more characters, not fewer.
