Even the short videos that don’t have much happening are entertaining, don’t feel bad that it’s taking so long for the Jenny good things take time. Also Banana!!
Hey robbie a quick note from a Guy that wanted to try to learn drifting be really careful doing it with the automatic they are much more complicated than a manual and over heat pretty easily.....just like mine did so remember to do cool off laps just to let everything go back down to Normal temperatures, it's not something i thought about so i thought i might spread the knowledge! Love your vids cheers
I think you are underestimating the width of a 2 post lift, it needs width. There won't be enough width at the back of the shop to park 2 other cars back there to be able to do anything with them. If you want to park door to door go ahead or just suck it up and accept having a lift in the back and lots of room to work one one car beside it. The other option would be to put the lift right in front of the bay door, this always makes the most sense for a working garage, I stuck my lift in the middle of my shop, I can park 3 wide but also 4 cars deep. I may put a second lift right at the bay door, best for easy in and outs.
So I have a 2015 Base and i really want to put performance rotors and (eventually) Willwood brake kit, how big do those rotors come in and how easy would it be to go from base to a performance package?
Hoist where the 240 is, s10 closer to wall where door is, benches where you said, civic parallel to back wall but far enough to work, brz and genesis taking up space by the bathroom and where the civic is now.
Great work man!!! Im working in my Gen and i need to lift it just like you did with the 2 jackstands and i dont know where to put the jack to lift up the two front wheels at the same time? Is there anyway you can show me the lift points. I know where to put the jack stands. I just dont know where to lift it. I appreciate it if you could help me out! Thanksss
Banana! This vid was definitely not boring my dude, you may not realize but your giving great bits of information everywhere about how to care for and maintain your car. I started my channel and started doing mods to my car because of you.
Hoists are tricky on where you choose to place them. I would suggest putting it where the S10 is as well so you can pull straight into it, but if you do that, the work bench would have a gap because of the door and that would look kind of goofy. But goofy is better than struggling to get a car into the hoist because it's behind the bathroom.
Fist off banana and also robbie you know if you get a 2 post lift you can drive through it when there no car on it so you could always put in the the front of the shot and have a rolling tool cart to keep all the stuff for whatever the project on the lift is and wheel it around to it, that's how we had it set up at the shop I worked at and it worked out pretty good
Banana, would moving the S10 into the other side, but 90 degrees using wheel dolly’s to be able to spin it easily? Giving you two cars between wall and toilet, and ramps in line with garage door
An option for the hoist is put one where the 240 is and one where the brz would be it will still be optional but a tight fit. Another option would be to put a floor jack where the brz is.(like the one mighty car has) that could work as well
Honestly man, this video wasnt boring, i swear you upload the perfect amount where im always like "oh damn he uploaded a video lets gooo" doesnt matter the content. Tho i do appreciate that you want to do more in your videos. Bananas
Hey guys, I have been into cars for a long time but never had a normal jack, so I only jacked the car from the stock spots. So I was wondering how do you lift the front? The back you jack up from the diff, but what is the jack up point on the front? Seen alot of different suggestions on google so can someone explain to me please?
Banana Measure the space you have as it is now from the benches to the opposite wall and then take away two foot for a gap o reach the benches, Measure the space from the bathroom wall (door side to the far wall and then you will know how much space you have to play with. Make sure to check size of the hoist and also how much weight it can carry (don't wanna start lifting and have it drop or even be up and chilling then find it on the floor the next day) You can also measure the cars you have so you know where they will fit once you have a place lined up for the hoist. Wish you all the best and will be here check out your progress as enjoy these video's due to a love of cars, missing driving plus was studying car maintenance ten years ago.
Why not do like Mighty Car Mods and get a Quick Jack? Sure it's not a full blown hoist but you can get the car up in the air pretty easily, you just have to lay on you back while working on it. It has the BIG advantage of being portable so you can litteraly get it to whatever car needs to be worked on without having to move a bunch of other cars to get to the hoist
Dude, put the hoist in where jasmine is at a slight angle (a little further forward toward the bathroom actually would be better). You’ll keep your layout the same, keep all your parking the same and easily be able to juggle cars on and off the hoist. Just get a rolling cart to put the tools your using on while you’re working.
Instead of the hoist get a 4point car lift. Basically the same thing as a hoist but it also allows you to have a car under it as if it’s like a single car garage but you can fit two cars in it...if that makes sense haha but basically allows you to work under a case but when you’re not using it, it double as an extra space to put a car
Banana your videos are so inspiring. i bought my 1st car(vw polo6n) last year and i'm building it since june 2019. you inspired me to do this. now i'm waiting on the 1.4 GTI motor because mine had a blown headgasket and the oil was not changed in it for 25k km. love from a polish guy from belgium
Quick tip, hanging the calipers by the brake lines can cause an aneurysm, which will cause the car to pull (right or left, depending) on hard braking. A bucket, or similar support, will help. This is something I know from personal experience! 😁 Banana...of course!!!
Next time you are cleaning up rust with a wire wheel spray a bit of WD-40 on the part and hit it with the wire wheel it really helps clean it up and make it look nice. Plus the WD-40 helps prevent rust. Just don't get WD-40 in the bearings because it will break down the Grease.
You should get car storage racks put into the garage. Then you could put one car up, Park one underneath, and have one less car taking up double space.
Dude just keep doing what you do, things will happen! The genesis will be on the road in no time, and what you call “boring videos” are still entertaining for us! That’s why we’re here! Stay committed 🍌
Bananas! send it with the lift! you already know this but you can store a car underneath the car on the lift when you're not working on it so space shouldn't be as much of an issue, just park two cars diagonal by the bathroom, have the lift where the truck is and then leave the space where the civic and 240 are.
if you need to force the caliper back with a lot of effort then dont, crack the bleed nipple and try it, if you force it and its stuck you can damage the seal.
BLANABA great video Robbie don’t be too hard on urself. Reply to this if you have any plans on doing a fan meetup for the lower mainland area or maybe let me know if there a Facebook group where I can get that info
Stay commited robbie you have been my favorite car youtube since 2018 and your content is just getting better i just think youbhave to many projects for yourself to handle but hey sometimes thats not a bad thing. Bannanas!!!
Why don't you get a hoist that does not need 2 huge pillars? Like one that has 2 "plates" on the ground that lift the car at about 1 meter high As you are making jenny a drifter.. you should wrap a fender with BANANA wrap :p
Robbie dude you can get some hydraulic lifter like the guy's from mightycarmods or you get your self a rollabe hoist then you don't have to get worried about space in the workshop
Robbie, I know it’s a costly endeavour but have you looked at getting two hoists at the end of the shop, that way you can have one with the car you are working on and the other as a 4 post hoist that way you can store one car on top of another? Same number of cars less footprint 🍌
You care so much and it’s awesome, but we love all your videos, honestly I could watch you do brakes and only brakes on all your cars and not get sick of it
Figured I would let u in on a secret I’ve learned over time, use anti seize/moly cote in spots like the hub where the rotors sit and a tiny bit on the backside of the wheel where it sits on the rotor, you’ll thank yourself later if you do
Dude it's all you as long as we get to see you do what you love that's all that matters it's always good content 🍌
Dude, I can't second this enough 🖤 🍌

You can drive it around without messing up the brake break in, no worries.
Use a speaker for the beginning in the car and the bass is insane

lol Try This :)
Please never leave Jasmine 😢
So I have a 2015 Base and i really want to put performance rotors and (eventually) Willwood brake kit, how big do those rotors come in and how easy would it be to go from base to a performance package?
Ik the feeling I had my 370 for like 7 months before I could drive it

I think I'm going to be the first one to say that I much rather you sell the BRZ than the Civic and that's ruff to say 😅
Robert Liggett 1000% agree

Who needs to stop 😂🤷♂️
What’s the progress on the s10? I miss those vids
Do U-hauls in Canada not rent out trucks? Here in texas a truck is like 20 bucks and the tow attachment is like 30
Where did you get the bumper I need a replacement.
Banana, would moving the S10 into the other side, but 90 degrees using wheel dolly’s to be able to spin it easily? Giving you two cars between wall and toilet, and ramps in line with garage door
Hey robbie... just out of curiosity how much do you want for jasmine?
BC doesn't have day permits like Sask?
An option for the hoist is put one where the 240 is and one where the brz would be it will still be optional but a tight fit. Another option would be to put a floor jack where the brz is.(like the one mighty car has) that could work as well
Glad to see the Genesis back in action. Keep doing what you do Robbie!

Would you want to paint the calipers on the genesis?
Where did you lift it from
The rear?
You could always rent a truck and trailer from uhaul (idk if they have it in Canada)

Kinda surprised you didn't rebuild and paint the calipers while you had them off. Flat black or something just for a little more rust protection.
Also, banana. 🍌
what about getting kicked out of inspection?? you said you were gonna talk about it??
If you’re in Vancouver how are you driving around without a front license plate and not getting pulled over?
Dude, put the hoist in where jasmine is at a slight angle (a little further forward toward the bathroom actually would be better). What is the brz car color name?
Banana and why don't you put the hoist in the middle were the genesis is?
Bro we just love seeing you and any content town about making a ttraiker to put car on ?
Are you still going to Japan?
about the hoist, i think option 2 sounded the best
You're gunna need the front fender liners for inspection.
Banana
your videos are so inspiring. i bought my 1st car(vw polo6n) last year and i'm building it since june 2019. you inspired me to do this. now i'm waiting on the 1.4 GTI motor because mine had a blown headgasket and the oil was not changed in it for 25k km.

Love watching you on your Journey through the car modding, Im doing the same as you but I didnt capture it like you.
Instead of a hoist why don’t you get something similar to what they use on mighty car mods? You’ve already got the compressor for it 👍🏼
Bananas! send it with the lift! you already know this but you can store a car underneath the car on the lift when you're not working on it so space shouldn't be as much of an issue, just park two cars diagonal by the bathroom, have the lift where the truck is and then leave the space where the civic and 240 are.
Even if the videos are short, they give us a view of what your doing, and it keeps us updated i think.
If the break caliper is giving you a hard time, open the master cylinder to take off the pressure from the piston
Open the brake fluid reservoir cap before squeezing the pistons in, wayy easier
I thought these came with Brembos?
If the caliper has been difficult to compress , it's probably seized and you should replace it or it will eat up your new brakes like crazy
if you need to force the caliper back with a lot of effort then dont, crack the bleed nipple and try it, if you force it and its stuck you can damage the seal.
Where the 240 is put the lift
jenny would look so good midnight blue or dark green robbie 😍 can’t wait to see her on the road
Robbie was the BRZ color inspired by Adam LZ's s15 silvia FD car? Banana
BLANABA great video Robbie don’t be too hard on urself. Reply to this if you have any plans on doing a fan meetup for the lower mainland area or maybe let me know if there a Facebook group where I can get that info
Yeah u need some vids of the s10 for sure love the vids man keep it up cuz it's Bananas!

As you are making jenny a drifter.. you should wrap a fender with BANANA wrap :p
Banana banana, Robbie is the Goat of car TH-camrs!
Banana, I feel your pain about the shop layout. My old shop was the same way
Robbie dude you can get some hydraulic lifter like the guy's from mightycarmods or you get your self a rollabe hoist then you don't have to get worried about space in the workshop

Put in a 4 post lift as well that way u can have a car on it and u can put a car under it so it's stacked
Robbie why not just adjust the S10 build to do front engine. More versatile, better timeline, still cool. It’s okay to change directions sometimes.
i thought you took the genesis to the inspection place ? wheres that footage ? anyways loved the video, as always ❤️
Roberto! We need some mini truck action my man. Great video!
Banana lol, and why don’t you put the hoist where the 240 is, and then just get a workbench on wheels to move around the shop?
Cooking along man! Been missing the videos and content. Something is better than nothing lol bananas 🍌
you can store a car on/under the lift when its not in use like most people do
a tow vehicle? you mean like the S10? :(
honestly even videos like these are cool and the smaller updates like this matter too. also BANANA
You care so much and it’s awesome, but we love all your videos, honestly I could watch you do brakes and only brakes on all your cars and not get sick of it
You should do dual brake on rear and get an hydro :D Cable is nothing for drifting..
brad color reveal??? the green looks sick tho
Banana gang!!! But just keep doing what you do we love it no matter what
Forget LS for the s10 put a K-series motor in it
banana! Princess Auto has a 2 post lift that can be moved around!!!
Bro u and brad are an inspiration hopefully soon I'll be in a spot to where I can post some builds I have ideas for but keep doin u 🍌
