hey Robbie im the guy that sold you the civic rims, I have a guy that can do it for ya hit me up I work at coquitlam Chrysler , let me know if you want a hand
DammitLeeroy it’s doesn’t matter, what’s needed to get a salvage car back in the road in BC is common knowledge. No shop is there to teach or enforce the rules. And if Robbie doesn’t know yet, call body shops to see who can do the body structural integrity inspection, they are now required to see pics before, during and after the repair process. If the frame wasn’t tweaked a simple alignment will do, if the before pics are bad they might expect to see a bill for a frame pull or they’ll be looking for swapped vins. Lastly get the mechanical vehicle inspection done.
A piece of advice from a random viewer, instead of calling, email the place so you have written proof of what they said and what you said. It really sucks that you are in this situation
Man bro i was feeling so lost. Ive been having obstacle after obstacle. Its been feeling like i cant get anything to go as planned. But watching this video really helped me let it all go and just keep pushing thru. Not everything goes as planned even to the best of us. Thank you so much bro for your videos. I am so grateful.
you dont ever have to count us out of filming anything because you think its boring to watch robbie. were all here for the ride and love to watch every step of the way no matter what step it is. if possible, i and i think many other people would love for you to film the whole inspection process! awesome video as always. love you robbie, keep killing it ! ❤️
Thats just really dumb I know and proly everybody thats watching knows that fealing I really hate those ppl man, just keep doing what you are and Stay Committed
Just take it to a Body Shop and get all the paperwork and tell the inspection shops that you have your paperwork and then go from there. If you have the OK from other people it could help to corroborate your account. Just do this first and make it easier on yourself. It’s easier to do it this way now instead of having to jump through more hoops down the road.
It’s really not hard here. They just hate people with stance cars, and don’t give a fuck about imports They’ll happily do inspections on classic cars and trucks in my experience
Man it seems like they're learning from the US government workers, do absolutely nothing and when they're called out for it lie nonstop and blame the "customer".
Dude just come to ontario and get that done.. literally got a salvaged civic and got safety certification for 120$ "under the table".. a bit sketchy, but still official paperwork, and if the car needs anything important he will fail you but at least you will know whats wrong and fix it.
Are there no places in Canada the don't require you to have an address in that province in order to register a car there? Like in the states with Vermont they will literally send you an application you fill it out put your money in the envelope send it back in a month you'll have your plates
If u think about is still all working out even with or with out inspection good shit keep it up and all always look at the positive peace out and stay committed
I don't know how it works other places, but the only time someone I know had to get a car inspected, they had to take it to our local DOT/State Patrol office...the government inspects the vehicle, not a shop.
I would call that shop out. It helps other people know who to avoid if they need the same service done. That's not professional and there are repercussions when you act that unprofessional. Save someone else the trouble and let people know what shop treated you like that.
It sounds like you need to get your alignment and the structure stuff figured out and get the certifications. Then rent a truck and trailer and go to the next closest place that will do the inspection on it.
Whats crazy is i have bought 3 cars from copart, passed inspections every time (the guys that inspected them were very intrigued by what i was doing lol) and then when registering the car the DMV didnt even check the car they just asked "aRe YOu SuRE yOu FiXEd iT???" And they took my word for it and didn't even check... On the real sorry thats happening to you bro, i guess Canada is not as easy going as Texas when it comes to salvage titles.. Good luck man!
You should totally tell people the name of the shop. Build karma by letting others know what idiots to avoid, not by protecting the shop that screwed you.
Bro I fully understand rebuild a 99 Mitsubishi eclipse and they basically told me I needed a structural test that the structural test I had done was not adequate enough and I had to take the car 2 states over I like the video and you got another subscriber right here keep up the good work and good luck with the Genesis
Hope you get everything sorted out. I have a Genesis identical to yours with a salvaged title and it was a pain to get registered in Cali. Have been thinking bout a manual swap since I got the car and got really hyped when u said u were gonna do one. Let me know how hard it is!
I would have put them on blast, but you are a better person than me. I would say with dealing with business record the calls, doesn't take much time and is good for events like this and also other pricing stuff.
Dam robbie sorry about your luck on the inspection. I'm glad to say inspections dont go like that here in the states its no where near that difficult. Hope you get it worked out stay up ride low 🙏👍💯
It's the same here in the US. You have to be a certified rebuilder, not even just a mechanic or body shop. Your best bet tbh with the work that you've done would be to trailer it like you've said. Other wise youd have to replace the parts you replaced with the old ones, then take it to a rebuilder, then to an inspection. Again, that's the way it is in the US, there may be a way around it for you but I can't say what it would be
It looks like to me that you're ignorant on the laws in your area where you live. When someone rear ended my 1991 BMW 318i in Arizona. The insurance company totaled my car. It became a salvage. In order to bring it up to restored salvage title to drive legally in Arizona. I had to get it inspected by the AZ-DMV. The bugger of my story is my insurance company would not insure it. Went to another insurance company they insured it and it's all good now. There's got to be written down policies and procedures to make your salvage vehicle to be restored to drive legally in your area. A website, or something with a list of things to do before inspection. Don't blame the guy for not inspecting your salvaged vehicle for your ignorance of the laws and statutes in your area. Even before buying a salvage vehicle you should've looked at the local, state/providence, and federal laws/statutes so you wouldn't look like you're trying to scam someone. The guy is running a business, he is just protecting himself from the consequences if gave a bad inspection to you, because nobody wants that much heat coming from any government entity, lawyers, or media outlets.
You can Tell a rear wheel drive car with the Dali you're just supposed to on hawk the drive shaft So that it doesn't mess up the mileage or in your case the kilometers
Hey Robbie, my father owns an mechanic shop on Vancouver island and they are licensed to inspect cars, they won’t turn anyone away no matter what car you drive. It’s called Seeco Automotive if you or anyone who sees this needs a trust worthy shop on the island.
Hey Robbie! I've been watching your videos for about a week now and just found out you live in Vancouver. I live in Burnaby!! Closer to New Westminster. thinking about getting a genesis coupe or brz. would love to hear your opinion and recommendation! thanks! Keep up the great videos man!!
if you can the inspection in Oilberta is a joke so if it can be transferred that might be a route and look up the process on the government website since they should have a list of things that you need to pass inspection.
If you got to get a trailer for every event maybe it's best if you find a farther place that can do the inspection and take it there. Hope you sort this out!
Just a quick FYI with car dolly... as far as I know, in BC, you're technically not allowed to tow a car that has no insurance with a dolly since you have the back wheels on the road. Don't get me wrong, the dolly I very convenient and I've done it plenty of times with the dolly, however I try to avoid the hassle all together so I use a car trailer.
Get in contact with you MPP!! My friend had a rebuilt rx8 with a weird history across USA/ontario/quebec borders the title got botched back to totalled when he registered it in ON and nobody would even look at it. It might take a little while but they have the ultimate power in this type of scenario.
Dang that sucks, had a similar thing happen with one shop in our area, went to another shop basically down the street from them and they took it no questions asked😂
Just a piece of advice for the future... Dolly is fine for towing RWD and FWD as long as the wheels attached to power are up on the dolly. Next time tow the RWD car with its rear wheels up!!
You got this Robbie, don’t worry there will always be guys like that lying to your face and saying things like that then switching the story just so they can look good with the other person. DONT WORRY YOU GOT THIS MAN I BELIEVE IN YOU!! Here and always from OAKLAND CALIFORNIA!

Get this up for Robbie to see
If it's legal in BC record the convo's next time you call a shop. Then when they give you the run around play 'em the clip.
DammitLeeroy people need to like this so he can see
Send this to his Instagram messages, he's always online there.
This would be a good idea. Quick google says it's one party consent in Canada so he'd be allowed to do that
