      Nic video. I have over 1000 floppy disks that are 720KB each. Not sure what to do with them yet XD. By the way the first CD wasn't 700MB. Those 80 minute CDs came along a little later. I've seen some really early CDs that were either 53 or 60 minutes.

    It's crazy how a tiny little 1TB micro SD card would be the equivalent of over 8.3 billion punch cards..

    It's interesting as far we've come in so little time. From the 8 bit Nintendo cartridge holding 40 MB to the CD that held 700 mb then the Dreamcast disc that held 1.5 gb, the DVD that held 4.7 GB and now our phones hold terrabytes. We went from a CD holding 700 MB to a blue ray holding 25 GB in 5 years. Crazy awesome evolution and time to grow up in. We're going back to cartridges.

    Cloud storage isn’t exactly a thing, because you’re still storing it on something it’s just that you’re not anywhere near that something and can only get your data via a connection

  • @johneygd

    Back then when storage devices were HUGE & clumsy but couldonly hold as little data on it but these days storage devices are damn small but could store at average sooo much freaking damn data on it,just insane.

    What's truly insane is you can fit a library full of books onto something as small as your pinky nail. So small you can easily lose it. Just insane.

    I think it's so crazy how technology has become smart so quickly For example, I don't use CDs anymore, except for gaming, I prefer streaming instead of normal TV programs, it's just crap anyway😅I'm curious to see how smart the technology will become because this is just the beginning

    Lol I remember using those 1.44MB floppy discs in the 1990s. Desktop PCs featured them. In comparison I recently purchased a 64GB USB 3.0 flash drive

    Between the times of cave drawings and papyrus, a lot of business information was stored on clay tablets. The undamaged ones can still be read. Talk about long term storage.

    you do realize the cloud is just a data center right? thats not a new technology , they are using regular flash and cheap disk to store peoples data... confused why that was added

    • @blastertechnology
      @blastertechnology  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Although the cloud relies on data centers for storage and processing, the key lies in how it transforms the way we interact with data. It gives us access to information and resources from anywhere and anytime, eliminating the need to worry about local hardware. As technologies evolve, the cloud is becoming a fundamental part of how we manage, share and use our data. So despite its roots in hardware infrastructure, its impact on how we interact with data is truly revolutionary and a significant step in the evolution of storage systems.
      By the way, Happy New Year!
