@purpledevilr7463 Sauron did serve Morgoth, but he didn't quite reach Morgoth's level of apocalyptic, all-consuming, rabid hatred for existence itself. At least, not yet. But you can see Sauron progressing down the same path, with his every subsequent plot becoming less and less about subterfuge and subversion, and more about just brutalizing everything and everyone until he controls everything. Interestingly (and I know this is barely relevant but please bear with me), the shamans aren't the same as the living jars. Jars of the same design were used in order for the Greater Potentates to create a "melding of life" of their own - for the worshipers of the Crucible, where _all_ life once melded together, the flesh of the shamans (who in the Japanese version are called miko, or shrine maidens) being able to meld well with the flesh of others was seen as a genuine way to achieve sainthood... And, of course, the consent of said shamans (all of whom are women) was entirely irrelevant. However, the living jars are entirely different beings - literally living jars that I believe were created in the Lands Between, to carry the remains of great warriors to the roots of the Erdtree; they are thus, in their natural state, or perhaps upon their conception, hollow, only later filling themselves with the remains of champions. So the Elden Ring version of Sauron was turned evil due to a misunderstanding...
