Downhill Biking on Colombia's Longest Trail

Join me on my first downhill mountain biking adventure in Salento, Colombia! We were up bright and early, eager to start our downhill mountain biking tour along the Golden Road with Salento Cycling. At the time, the Golden Road was the longest downhill ride in Colombia, crossing the Andes Mountains at an elevation of 3,400 meters.
The route also passes through a wax palm forest far more extensive than the well-known one in Cocora Valley. This hidden gem added an incredible touch to our ride.
The experience cost about 350,000 pesos (approximately $95 USD), and it was worth every penny! It was my first time, but definitely not the last. We tackled plenty of difficult terrain, faced changing weather conditions, enjoyed amazing views, and felt a lot of adrenaline. Unfortunately, my camera died during the most extreme part, where the tour guide, an experienced rider, and I navigated a more difficult forest section.
