    It’s common for most average Europeans speak at least 2-3 languages. American school system is awful. I came here and people were astonished that I speak 4 languages, then they meet people I grew up with and most speak at least 2-3 languages on average. We have better educational system when it comes to primary and secondary schooling compared to the USA.

    I love how this American can't be bothered even to try to vary his accent when he tried to read "Welcome back" in those other languages. And he's never even heard of the Luxembourgish language -- or so I presume, since he couldn't pronounce the word properly.

      I mean the Luxembourg one makes sense it's a small country and not many Americans plan trips there when they travel Europe. Also, we aren't required to learn a language until high-school. If you don't use the language you lose it. I took 5 years of French and have used so little of it my Spanish accent is actually better than my French. But if you're saying Americans need a better education system in general you're definitely right.

    I can imagine all americans going on Google now and search on Luxembourg ...
    Anyway, as impressive as this is, it is really no big deal being multilingual in Luxembourg. It is a very small country bordering Germany, France and Belgium. And many foreigners of various nationalities live in Luxembourg.
    And even though they have their own language, luxembourgish, the luxembourghers are exposed to many many languages from an early age. Their brains are simply "tuned in" on learning and perceiving different languages.
    And remember their neighboring countries also have several official or minority languages.

    • @Ettibridget
      @Ettibridget ปีที่แล้ว

      I remember the Tour de France star of the 90's, Tony Rominger from Switzerland (which itself have four official languages).

    I see everyone hating on America and it makes me sad because I took Spanish for 2 years in high school and a year of French and although I give it my all I still cannot get the language perfect because I just can't get the pronunciation right or like with French the "haaack" sounding they make in the back of their throat. I dunno I've tried so hard and I just can't get it.

    Not quite what a false friend is... but great job anyway!

    • @kalibmoyer4734
      @kalibmoyer4734 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A false friend is a word in one language that sounds similar to a word in a different language, but has a different meaning. Become in English and Bekommen in German are the easiest to explain. Bekommen means “to receive or get.” So you can never become your cup of tea, but you can receive your cup of tea from a restaurant.

    • @redachraibi5993
      @redachraibi5993 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The expression "false friend" exists in English as well, just like faux amis in French. In my experience it's even more common than "false cognate".
      However what he describes in this video isn't one. He said you try to guess and make up a word that in reality does NOT exist.
      False friends exist but have different meanings...

    THE TRUE, PROTECTOR:There is only one God, God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. One God, three parts. Humans have a soul, spirit and body. One person, three parts.
    The Bible says that we are all sinners.
    As it is written: There is none righteous no not one. Romans 3:10
    For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
    But we are all as an unclean thing and all our righteousness are as filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6
    For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23(the word “death” in this verse means eternal separation, from God in hell).
    Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.Isaiah 1:18
    Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and that He was buried and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.1CORINTHIANS 15:3-8
    In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14
    For by grace ye are saved, through faith; and not of yourselves
    it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
    I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Galatians 2:21
    If you would like to receive Jesus as your Savior. Realize that you are a hopeless sinner and trust in Jesus and only Jesus to save you.
    You can say a prayer expression your gratitude, sorrow for sins etc. but remember your prayer doesn’t save you.
    Your trust in Jesus and what He did for you on the cross, is what saves you.
    The moment you trust in Jesus and only Jesus, you are saved.
    After people get saved, they get baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
    It isn’t a requirement for salvation, but it is something that God wants us to do after we are saved.
