Another plane that does well enough imo is the AJ-37; due to custom loadouts, you can use one gun and one flare pod, so you basically have the Viggen difference at 10.3

@@ryantrahan2240 Oh definitely, tho even without the flares, it comes with missiles and guns out of the box and flares is a rank I upgrade, so it arguably has one of the best stock grinds at top tier

The F-8E has been nicknamed the “Seal Clubber” for a good reason it kills premiums like taking out the trash.

i thought it was because everything is trash compared to it: better than mig21 bis in everything except linear speed and engine power.
Another issue is repair cost. When you have to pay 15k for a stock jet fighter vs 11k for an aced attack aircraft you obviously wouldn’t want to play the fighter. I’d love to play my saber but it’s just so expensive because I have to get three kills before I can break even on my repair cost if I die. It’s horrible so I just play an A-4E because it’s 11k when it’s aced and I tend to go off with it’s high aoa capabilities.
Absolutely one of my favourites in the game right now. I really like to play a mixed loadout with 2-2 as it fits my playstyle better but thats up to personal taste. Blowing some brain-dead premium buys out of the sky with the 9C is just satisfying. Only the lack of Rwr is really annoying especially in the 11-11,3 matches
I have been farming with the f5c though I’m at 7.0 currently the A10 is my greatest fear
I find the F8E is better for solo play which is quite common for 10.3 US since US pilots have room temperature IQ giving the enemy the altitude advantage . The F4C is a great plane if you have a squad to go . The standoff and chaff resistant nature of AIM 7C's makes it super satisfying netting 9 km or more kills shooting down space climbers . Having 8 missiles also makes it more suitable for shooting distracted opponents and with a bit of tinkering the radar can be used at low level to surprise people running away at low altitude .

@@sherlocksinha2435 Eh, Room Temp IQ is very common around that BR as most of the planes you will see and face are premium jets. I would say its not only a US problem, as also most of the TT planes you will see are flown by these specimen of I buy premium and fly only mega high tier. Best example the guy that had around 800 battles in his F5C just to unlock the F14. Nothing else ever touched in the tree with a glorious KD of 0.1

French one is pain. Bought it, tried to spade it, went back to mirage IIIE. No flares at 10.3 is a no go
Also f4c with 2 huge jets with flares is also no good, although it's op once you are behind them and you can just spam everybody
The a5 and mig21s are a nightmare at 8.7 and 9.0 especially when a lot of your time your team is full of a4s. Thanks for the cleaning the skies up spit.

3:02 I have never in my life encountered someone dumb enough to think the Aim-9D's are a downgrade from the E's. More range, higher over-g rating, and sustained maneuverability make it one of the most lethal missiles at that BR range when properly employed.
3:53 The Aim-9D lost track on the target because the GR.1 fired a missile, causing the seeker to pick that up instead. The GR.1 has no flares. That would be the GR.1A.
9:44 That could very well be because at 9.7-10.3, there are less radar guided missiles, and at top tier, you are not seen as a priority target (unlike a Mig-23MLD/A, M2K, or F-14A).

I’m currently researching the mods for this plane right now and its honestly just a beast. I’m stuck with aim-9cs right now but to be honest they aren’t too bad. I was able to dogfight really well with the F8U-2 and now Dogfighting is just so much easier. Definitely one of my favorite planes to play around with.

Hey histaric, have you noticed that the wings on the f8e are stronger than the f8u? It’s been pretty frustrating playing the f8u cuz the wings will snap so easily and I was curious if the wings r better
@@holdenc2636 wings on f8e are 100% better. I think out of maybe 100 matches I only broke the wings 3 times if that, its definitely worth the buy.
Awesome video, love this plane as well. 9C has been working great for me since some people do not carry chaff or do not have countermeasures period. Works great for the trash at high alt any aspect.

At the moment 10.3 is a really enjoyable BR cause of all the 9.7 and 10.0 premiums. The last days i really enjoyed my new japanese f-1 and i just bought a talisman for my german f-4f early.
The aim9 C has the same performance as the 9D but it is uncaged, so if you do want to dogfight taking Cs and staying below your enemies so you can always look up with the radar the Cs can become dangerous all aspect Ds
Can’t you use the irst with aim9 Ds for the same affect?

Your whole rant really just summed up my experience as a Japan main. Ever since the A-10, Su-25, and other premiums came to the game, the T-2, F-1, and even F-104J are extremely hard to play. With no flares at all, I can only dodge 1 or 2 missiles and by then they just launch another and hit me. Only good thing that has happened as of recent is the premium T-2 early. Not because it’s good, but because now my 10.7 F-104J and even the Phantoms are getting constant down tiers. This probably won’t last long though.
Recently got this thing... I absolutely love it, even as a relatively new top tier player.
One of my favorite jets rn is the ariete. Have to use your brain a wink to not get aim 9Led and R 60Med but baiting migs and f5s to turn with you is so fun

*It can fight every plane* -You can win close dogfights against MiG-21bis and F-5E. You can win in furballs with 4 different planes on your six. Its perfect turning capabilities and good roll rate, makes it so incredibly easy to fly. You can win against *everything* if you play it right. It's the best 10.3 by far.
The only planes that I have had a hard time killing are J-7E and MiG-23MLD (at low-medium speeds), but you can totally kill them too. Every other plane is food for the Crusader.
The only matches where you die are matches where your entire team is dead and you've already killed at least 4 of their planes. I've barely ever lost SL by playing the F-8E. It's the single best plane I have ever played in War Thunder.
This aircraft is one of them, which are the best when you working with your team...
Aim 9cs are great. Able to consistently get 1 or 2 mig 19,21 or a5c kills early game.

Amazing plane. I play this when I'm trying to grind a 9.3/9.7 and get R-60MK'd, I take it out and take out my anger on SU-25 players.

This sounds like the same reason I like the GR3 at 9.7 rn - bomb a base then use the excellent missiles to snipe off a distracted fighter or two before just dancing on the A-10s/Su-25s with the low speed acceleration and countermeasures. It’s way better than it has any right to be rn because of the amount of low speed food that relies on missiles toddling around.
i think early jets are the most fun anyways. you get jets but still are mostly using guns

Best loadout is 2 sparrow 2 ir, sparrows are especially good coz many don't have rwr at 9.3 to 10.3

I'm currently grinding through the franch tree withte Mystère II as this is the first tree where I get to play jets, I'm about to unlock rank VI and I have the option between grinding the Mystère IV A and the F100D, but I'm even considering just staying at 8.0 and not play rank VI at all because of those premiums everywhere.
Giving AIM 9Ls and R60Ms to planes in a matchmaker where you can fight planes that don't have flares at all is really rough on Gaijin's part
it might be better to wait till u unlock the mirage 3 even though the first one doesnt have flares its speed should keep out of range from a10s and su 25s mirage f1 is kinda bad though

I want this aircraft but after trying to spade the f4e a few days ago and breaking my mouse I don't think I'm ever going to touch air again, or atleast for a while
I prefer the F8U. It comes down to playstyle I guess. My stats with it are a great deal better than the F8E.

How to counter this thing? I was flying my J35 at 10 000 meters at mach 1.10. The F8 is about 3km below me does a full 360. Fires of a missile I immediately turn to try to dodge and it just pulls so hard and kills me

I think battle ratings need to be separated by brackets. Similar to what they are doing in SIM. That way you can guarantee certain planes won't face things they just can't fight back, such as 9Ls and shit.

I adore the crusaders but I refuse to use them right now because you cant use the aim-9D's without buying the rank 4 zuni mod. This is a bug known since drone age dropped but still hasnt been fixed
I had a 6 kill match in the f8e that came down to a 1v1 with a su25 (after throwing a 9c at an afk a5). Fsr I took a 1v1 with the su25 the moment I saw it and died. Threw what could have been a 7 kill carry at the last moment...

I don’t think the handholding thing applies to the Shenyang. That thing is kind of a piece of shit, it faces almost exclusively SuperSonics and can face all aspect missiles while being a Korean War era mig with two shitty missiles and no flares

What do you think about the F-104S/ASA?
To me it is very good when played correctly, you just have to pass through the battlefield, fire one ore two missiles, then run away at the speed of light. They will not even realize what happened, and even if someone tries to follow you, the 104 is just too fast and they'll lose interest.
Its a solid jet, but I just find the play style of the starfighters to be incredibly boring.
I wish the F-8E had RWR. Even if it didn't have it, it makes no sense to grind for a plane further down the air tree that is capable of facing potent radar guided missile and does not have RWR.

It's a good plane but I absolutely hate it's rudder. That thing flops about when I'm trying to aim and I miss. The plane is kinda "twitchy" to control which I don't like

I personally prefer the F8U, the AIM9C's are very good but they're finicky to lock a target and the radar not having a boresight mode doesn't help. The IRST is also pretty useless. I think trading those for a RWR is a good tradeoff.

I've been using Ariete to punish A-10s and Su-25s recently. I don't enjoy War Thunder jets anymore. Top tier is cancer, 9.7-8.7 is terrible, And 8.3-7.3 just doesn't have the speed I'm looking for.
Game lost its fun. This update I was hoping to get an aircraft that would change the meta of "F-14s on both teams, spam all the missiles, get one kill and then die" but we didn't get that.

I mean I agree with you with premiums but this is a “problem” the snail purposely made. I have thousands of kills with Japan and I don’t even have half of the tech tree researched, I have just over a thousand kills with Germany and have some rank 6 planes researched by just using a premium. I love turnfighting, I love baiting people in and shredding them or making them rip their wings off. Trying to turnfight me but even with all the kills I have, consistently top 3, I’m barely past rank 3/4 so I don’t even play Japan any more

The problem is it doesn't have radar warning. Any plane with a radar homing missile can kill it easily. Another problem is it is too slow. It can dogfight. However, it cannot choose which one to fight. If mig21 just run and drain your energy, you can do nothing. The aim9d is also trash.
The f8 had rwr irl, it also carried 9gs irl. And if a mig 21 drains your energy then there's a problem. The f8e has better retention then the mig 21.

That guy took an F-14 and went face first into every fight. We have probably shot each other down half a dozen times over the last week
its kind of sad when you make those videos and I think we all can agree playing air RB and criticising Gajin to what should be changed does very little in the way of improvement. But despite that seeing someone put together a video which gives suggestion to what to improve really shows how gajin completely ignore criticism but instead decide to use there own way of deciding what right for the game. (which we all know how that goes F14 11.3) this in my opinion is a little effective the way there using it but Gajin are missing a very important part which is how there player base feels about the changes made. anyways keep up the good work and maybe one day they'll listen. (but lest be real here there probably not going to).
His only problems are when russian planes are top dog. Now, that f14 is "good" he sems happy with it.

Cartoon 3rd person pov, joke systems modeling, cringe flight dynamics. Might as well play Pac-Man or Asteroids circa 1984.
Well you have to take a look from perspective of new players who hop into prop plane, climb for 10 minutes and then instakill because they go no idea what to do. And will never learn because they have absolutely no chance to practice when your gameplay time is 10minutes afk climb (not mentioning large maps which should be default for top tier IMO - hope they will bring it with more BVR weaponry ingame) and many times literally seconds of fight.
I agree that full lobby of premiums sucks and most likely is decided which teams has 100lvl players on those and which one 5-10lvl.
This game is made to make money like this and I think in only hinders your videos to constantly talk about it. It will never change. Try to take it from point of view as these people who put money into this on day 1, financing our game.
