In the lore of the show, each of Lennie's previous partners return briefly and discuss his death. Logan says that even knowing that he's died, he still sees Lennie in his dreams, and that he still was in contact with him all those years. Ed Green confesses that he briefly relapsed into gambling after hearing Lennie died, but that it was his strong example that got him back on course. Even Rey Curtis returns, after his wife died, and admits to someone (Lt. Van Buren, I believe) that he was still in contact with Lennie, that his kids still thought of him as their uncle, and that they even spoke shortly before he died. A beautiful touch, I think, to include this, granting the characters and the actors some finality and closure. RIP Mr. Orbach, you left a legacy that could never be replaced.
I always enjoyed him in Law And Order and he was excellent in all the roles he played. He even did the voice of Lumiere, the candlestick in Disney's cartoon movie classic "Beauty And The Beast". He will truly be missed.
He was a wonderful actor and a fan favorite on Law and Order! Being from NYC, I knew about his eyes from the obituaries after his passing. He will always be a favorite to me and I am always amazed that he was also a song and dance man in the original cast of Broadway’s 42nd street
I was very happy to hear that Jerry donated his eyes so that other people could see. I myself am an organ donor. I hope one day that my organs could help someone who needed them. Rest in peace Jerry. Watching Law and Order right now with Jerry Orbach.
ORBACH WAS THE BEST REASON TO WATCH LAW AND ORDER! Miss him very much and almost won't watch the various episodes if they don't contain him. He was just to hard to replace with someone of equal acting worth. So long Jerry, we all miss you very much!
I love Law and Order. I watch it all the time. I loved Jerry's character too. I never knew he had prostate cancer. I am a prostate cancer survivor myself. Like Jerry, I am an organ donor too. I think it is the only noble thing to do. He was a great actor. Rest In Peace Jerry.
Briscoe is maybe one of the handful of law and order characters to actually have a death listed because their actor died. I think one of the only other’s that I can truly think of is John Munch from SVU.
Jerry Orbach was such a good actor. I loved him in the original cast of Chicago on Broadway. Also in 42nd Street. Wow! And he was great on Law & Order .
Absolutely, we feel the same way! Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. Which Law & Order episode is the most memorable for you?
@@FactsVerse I don't remember the title of the episode, but it was the one when Lenny Briscoe found out his daughter had died. All the Law and Order characters were so real, I think that's one of the reasons I liked the show.
Had no idea he and his family went through all that. Sad when families try to control a loved one's money in that manner. Jerry was also the voice to Lumire from Beauty and the beast.
I adored him in Law and Order. I stopped watching it after his death. He made the show. Plus he was a great actor in everything he was in, especially in Dirty Dancing. Rest in Peace Jerry. Children can be really greedy and it's a shame they're still fighting over his wealth. 💔
Tim you left out one very important part of Jerry's life, and that's the fact that he was a Jesuits Priest; it goes to Orbach's kindness and respect for others. The co stars and stage personnel had a lot of kind words for Orbach, both before and after his death, and held him in the highest regards. Orbach's many interviews on talk shows was living proof that he wasn't like his stage character at all, but just the opposite.
So trusts that were left to the sons allowed the step-mom to take out interest AND principal? 5:15 That's what happens when you hire the lawyer with the office in the mall.
I knew we was in a fantastic but it's a candlestick he was great especially when he had to put up with a clock beauty and the beast was his greatest work
Depends on your agent. I went to sign up for S.S.I. and they gave me a brochure with Ricardo Montalbán on the cover. He had been dead for 5 years by that point.
Mr. Orbach spent time on the musical stage - as the sleazy lawyer in Chicago for one.... Sad that the blood test which will do early detection for prostate cancer. If only all men would have this exam yearly.... David Ogden Stiers from M.A.S.H. also lost his life when he might have been saved.

That man could SING! A really beautiful resonance too. He’s on TH-cam in a number of broadway shows.
My absolute FAVORITE Law & Order character.
R.I.P. Jerry Orbach 1935-2004

I'm a 48 year old woman who is in love with Jerry Orbach. He was positively magnificent in every way.
Always loved his acting. First saw him on Murder She Wrote.

Wow I had know idea how extensive Jerry's cancer was he truly was a courageous man
I never watched him on law & order but I did love him n Dirty Dancing. R.I.P Jerry Orbach No I didn't know he donated his eyes.
a actor of outstanding ability sadly missed.
If I recall, Orbach was just supposed to be a recurring character on the L & O spin-off.
In a way he was a lucky guy. He got to work right up to the end and on a hit show. He had a lot of fans including me.
Tim you left out one very important part of Jerry's life, and that's the fact that he was a Jesuits Priest; it goes to Orbach's kindness and respect for others.

He was also partying with Crazy Joe mob guy the night Crazy Joe got wacked
Loved jerry he was funny

@@FactsVerse that's a hard one because he was great in every episode
Loved Jerry in the show murder she wrote and in the spinoff show
Actually, I only ever watched the first half-hour of show; and not at all after he left.
🎵Try to remember and if you remember, then follow 🎵
RIP Jerry Orbach.
May Jerry find peace. Have a great Christmas to you and your family 🎅
Can’t believe it’s been 20 years now since Jerry Orbach passed away.
If it wasn’t for him, Law and order would not be around anymore
Oh god, you're telling me there was a "Law and Order Forever"?
No I did not. Glad to hear that he did. The eyes are the windows of people’s soul. There are two people that are looking out of those windows
He was a great man....sad, the money of evil
No match for the evil-of-money though.

Love Jerry Orbach
Money is evil, tears families apart
Money 💵 is not evil.Only the evil 😈 Tax-man and the government is !.....
Money itself isn't evil, those who have it for evil purposes are evil.

Yo
Hi there! How can we help you?
Didn't he have cancer, or am I remembering this wrong.
(Yes, I type this comment before it was announced in the video.
He actually hung out with real mob associates
Cuz he die?
He left the show because of his ill health and age for a police
