On mine there are 10cm lines near the underside floor inflating boston valve and also near the topside hull inflating boston valve behind the seat. Mine came with a piece of clear plastic on which there is marked a 10cm line. Just overlay this and inflate till lines are equal and the kayak is properly inflated. Great video. Saved me lots more frustration trying to find the underside boston valve to inflate the floor.

Thanks for putting this up, the instructions included with the kayak weren't the greatest. Got my K2 test inflated and hope to hit the local bayou this weekend!

Thanks for this video! I had no clue where valve 1 was hidden, and ended up caving and renting a solid body kayak this past weekend because I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, haha!

Thank you for this! I just got this kayak and I don't know if I ever would have figured out that the thing you plug the pump into is separated in two parts. I was just taking the whole thing off, which was clearly way too big of a hole for the pump, so I was super confused.
Just got these for my anniversary this year. I'm excited to try them out :)

Near the valves there is a scale, you measure it until the length is right, that is how you know how inflated it is

Thank you! Your instructions are way better than the manual that comes with the kayak..

Great video! I can't find my instructions so this was a great reminder of the order to inflate! (I forgot that it's numbered as well 😅!)

Thanks. I could not find the first valve. It seems like a really, really good product, with pretty meager instructions.

I've used all types different inflatables to take 6 to 12hrs trip threw the middle of nowhere an in my experience the kayak's are good pretty durable won't pop everytime you bump a stick last a while with great care but even $80 is to much in my opinion when you can buy a explorer 300 raft for $30 an haul way more stuff in it (camping gear in my case ) an way more stable

The 10 cm guide doesn't work on mine because it was printed too long on the kayak. Even completely deflated it's already longer than 10 cm. I just have to guess it's inflated enough.

  • @evoermine

Dan, mine's being delivered in the next hour! So the timing of your video couldn't have been better.

    • @evoermine

***** Just inflated it in my lounge! Surprised how small the leg/foot space is tho. Not quite sure what the inflatable cushion is for, are you supposed to rest your feet and legs on it or as a buffer in front of it? Noticed you were kneeling in one of your vids, might try that. Looks great though! My dog doesn't know what the heck it is!
Do you have your paddles in the same position each end or do you use a different hole on the adjustable one? Cheers.

evoermine I find the same - very tight around the feet, no way I could wear shoes in it and I start to feel very cramped after an hour or so...

+Dan Brown (The Narrowboat Lad) make a video how to go inside and outside the kayak properly! it's like the most important things

    • @antdx316
      @antdx316 7 ปีที่แล้ว

I get in and out easy. Just have to have something to hold on to before going both legs into it. Also the rear rudder thing is bad when the tide is very low. It will make you stuck.

Just got mine to find a big rip near the 2nd port hole. Thinking of using gorilla tape. Should this work?

Hiya Dan. I am just considering getting exactly the same kayak at the moment but the 2 person model. Is it worth getting in your opinion? Do you still have your one and is it still in good working order. I know you had a puncture once, but apart from that ...has it been okay? Love the vids. Wish I was back in England and could get a boat (I'm working on it)..but at the moment I'm still here in Germany. Keep up the good work. Have fun. Farewell!!

I can't figure out how to get the cap off to fill it up. I figured out how to unscrew it for the larger hole to drain the air out. :(

The guy giving instructions in the video suggests pushing a cushion above foot rest. Thats what I’ll try. Just about to practice inflating,

I have the 1 man and always seem to have a problem getting the 'rudder' to slide off. Any comments? Also I'm short and my legs don't reach the inflatable foot rest.. Any suggestions for that? Thanks for posting!
