Hip Hop / Women / Difficult Relationships, whatever you take away from this song, Eminem conveys raw emotion in a way I can relate to more than any other artist. Basically the only artist I can listen to at the moment. Heartbreak feels like it's killing me right now.
I find it astonishing that people can genuinely debate and spar with one another over the meaning of the song when Eminem clearly removed any ambiguity at the end by saying "Fuck you hip-hop." Not to mention, all the other preceding verses are laced with subtle clues such as "All I do is rap, how can I moonlight on the side, I have no life outside of that," or "Go marry someone else and make 'em famous." It's explicitly and evidently about rap music, a topic he has long addressed. This is a great song and while it manages to remain somewhat vague and ambiguous until the end, the fact that this many motherfuckers are arguing about its meaning worries me greatly. Our future generation doesn't appear to be in good hands...

I mean, just look at his damn flow on things like 3 A.M. and Stay Wide Awake. He makes the entire second verse rhyme on that latter song. Relapse is home to some of his best flows and lyrics in my opinion, and some had real meaning to them, such as Beautiful like you mentioned, or Deja Vu.

Crazy how music can affect you at different points in life.

I find it astonishing that people can genuinely debate and spar with one another over the meaning of the song when Eminem clearly removed any ambiguity at the end by saying "Fuck you hip-hop." Not to mention, all the other preceding verses are laced with subtle clues such as "All I do is rap, how can I moonlight on the side, I have no life outside of that," or "Go marry someone else and make 'em famous."
It's explicitly and evidently about rap music, a topic he has long addressed. This is a great song and while it manages to remain somewhat vague and ambiguous until the end, the fact that this many motherfuckers are arguing about its meaning worries me greatly. Our future generation doesn't appear to be in good hands...

I actually don't like Recovery that much, but I loved Relapse. It's my favourite one of his albums, even if a lot of other people don't like it. I like all of them obviously, and Relapse only just beats out a couple of others, but come on. I mean, just look at his damn flow on things like 3 A.M. and Stay Wide Awake. He makes the entire second verse rhyme on that latter song. Relapse is home to some of his best flows and lyrics in my opinion, and some had real meaning to them, such as Beautiful like you mentioned, or Deja Vu.
