Also I just noticed something interesting. Snake is fulfilling the same role the boss did. To finish her mission, she was ordered to kill the one she loves in the sorrow. And in this game, snake's mission is to kill the one he loves. It's interesting and definitely intentional.
Little hints and clues like this were peak MGS writing - let people speculate and leave some mystery, not explain EVERYthing with hypno-therapy and nano-machines -_-
Mgs has some really interesting gimmick boss fights. I enjoyed most of them, especially because they weren't spoiled for me. My favourite to least: 1. The Sorrow. 2. Psycho Mantis. 3. Vamp (MGS4). 4. Man on fire (Disappointing TBH).

If I recall correctly, the cutscene where you rig the Shagohod to explode, during Volgin's monologue if you go into 1st person POV, you can actually see the Sorrow floating around holding a timer right? Is there a video of that on TH-cam anywhere?
You can. Also, during the torture scene, you can go into the first person view, and he is displaying a frequency that you can call that will unlock the jail cell door.
It already happened. This is right after Snake got his eye shot out by Ocelot. Look closely as he aims at the Sorrow and you'll see that his right eye is missing. Speaking of which, I just noticed something. Snake got shot in the right eye and the Sorrow got shot in the left eye. Oh, the irony.

This is confusing but I’m pretty sure the boss was the original big boss (for now) which was than given to naked snake after he killed her who became the big boss we know now. Also, this story is extremely similar to the kingdom hearts story line but that’s kind of a given considering how both of them are complicated. I’m pretty sure the time line is MGS3-MGS peace walker/portable ops? - MGS 1 -MGS 2 - MGS 5 - MGS 4 at the end.

Thanks! I was kind of confused before so I now know and I can confirm you are right. The rising games are in another non canon universe as well. Same with the portable games. I would also add the metal gear x games as they are after mgs5 and end with the death of venom snake and it has solid snakes first mission if I'm correct.

La Li Lu Le Lo yeah it’s definitely easy to beat the 34ft metal robot which is being controlled via psycho mantis which has a 11ft sword
The Sorrow can be cheesed and completely bypassed regardless of your kill count by just drowning yourself as soon as the cutscene ends, super easy.
