You're assuming that there's no way that he could learn. But...
Loomis talks about how they are constantly taking him to different Facilities IN HIS FIRST SCENE.
Now they don't SAY that he sat quietly watched, but, I mean, come on, Michael is clearly *at least* on the spectrum, so it's not hard to infer.
That actually IS what Carpenter said happened when people kept bothering him about it. That Loomis has been driving Michael places for years and he just watched very closely.
I always thought it was weird that Michael just drives around in a car. Use a creepy tricycle or something like a respectable mass-murderer.
If you follow the original time line of 1-6, Wynn(the man in black) probably taught him.

I didn't know that Jamie Lee was the daughter of the actress who played Marion Crane (Janet Leigh). You learn something new each day.
They were both also in Halloween H20 together. It was her final film role before passing.

Tbh I think Leatherface and Billy from Black Christmas are much scarier. Plus dude is like 70 now and the franchise wants us to believe he's still alive, murdering people like a 30 year old man who never was able to run even in his physical prime. The theme song is what makes it. Nothing more.

I was hoping you would highlight that the kids' parents made plans on Halloween but didn't seem to have any notion of their own kids' trick-or-treating plans, and they even had to coax their babysitter into carving a jack-o-lantern, well into the evening. Actually, when you’re talking about the killer wearing a creepy mask, you’re right except when you show Leatherface - the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was filmed in 1974 - so 4 years before Halloween ;)
Texas Chainsaw is the original slasher movie. It created all tropes in slashers minus the POV shot.

John Carpenter, wanted her for his film Halloween (1978) after seeing Carrie (1976). He wrote the part of Lynda especially for her because of the way she said the word "totally."
The "messed up face" is from when Laurie skewered him in the eye with the un-wound coat hanger.
One thing I really liked about Halloween when I finally saw it was the lack of gore and the fact that you don't see the knife actually penetrating anything, even when Michael gets stabbed in the eye.

Also I just realized With movies like Monster Squad being hue in the 80s and looking at the modern era the movies today are just food fights, cartoon gags, low budget sets popular slang , kids being smarter then adults and home alone traps. You want have a good night. Watch the 2011 The Thing and then watch the 1982's The Thing. Not only does the 1982 version hold up but it actually actually follows the 2011 version nearly perfectly
One great bit of trivia I found out was that at the South Pole Station, they have a yearly tradition after the last plane leaves for the winter. They do a marathon of The Thing from Another World, and both the 1982 and 2011 The Thing. That's just got to be the absolute best/worst way to view those movies. In an Antarctic research station where you're at your most isolated, binge a bunch of movies about isolated people in an Antarctic research station being killed by a shape-shifting alien. The winter is from February to October, and there is almost no contact with the outside world during that time. And for most of that time it's one long night. So yeah, it's got to be a really crazy experience to watch The Thing at that point.

Damn, my mistake. I watched another video before this one and that video said it...
LOL, this was great, I've been waiting for this and it didn't disappoint. To be honest, I know it gets hate but Halloween 3: Season of the Witch is underrated af, Carpenter concluded Myers story in Halloween 2 because he didn't want the series to get repetitive where Michael kills, gets killed, comes back to kill, rinse & repeat. So he was gonna do a different horror story for every Halloween, making it like a horror anthology but when it came out, fans were pissed it wasn't about Myers and didn't give it a chance. Jamie Lee Curtis made a cameo as the voice announcing the curfew and it probably has one of the most underrated movie endings ever. Classic John Carpenter to leave you with a cliffhanger hehe.
Most people call 3 an underappreciated cult gem - and often claim that it only gets hate for switching away from Michel Myers.
But...
Remember - it's a bokers movie about evil corporate witches out to sacrifice children by making them buy their masks - that have been made with magic microchips constructed with shavings from Stonehenge - that transform their insides into bugs and snakes - and shoot frickin' lasers! And don't forget the robot henchmen.

TheBraunMachine2011 I lurce Halloween III. TBH I kind of think that Halloween II was a mistake. It predisposed audiences to reject the anthology plans, thus causing the III backlash. And while II is a pretty solid film, it really didn't do much to make the lore better (and no, Laurie being a Myers did not make the lore better, IMHO, I am glad the new movie supposedly dispenses with that)

Really, it's Black Christmas that deserves credit for most of the slasher tropes.
(Also, I always find it funny that Black Christmas was directed by the same guy who'd later do A Christmas Story. And it makes me wonder what Santa did to traumatize Bob Clark. )

When i watched this the first time i thought how funny it would be if he made those sound effects im so glad u guys did!
This movie seriously scarred me in my late teens. Especially the scene with the bodies flopping out of the cupboard. I'd had a nightmare shortly before I saw the movie where my parent, throats cut, swung out of an elevator when the door opened in just the same way. (The elevator was in the Univ of Texas tower, where the Charles Whitman shooting happened.)

'Peeping Tom' was made in 1960 a full 18 years before this and is generally considered the first slasher, however it didn't get a wide release in the US

Halloween 2 in 1981 isn't bad by any means, I think it gets a bad rap most of the time.

Psycho came out in 1960, a full 14 years before Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The homages from Halloween to Psycho are obvious (Dr Loomis and Sam Loomis; Jamie Lee Curtis being Janet Leigh’s daughter; Psycho music being used).

To be fair, he says "inventing OR cementing every slasher cliche" before showing clips from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Black Christmas. However, Michael Myers didn't make phone calls and Olivia Hussey's character in Black Christmas was pregnant, disqualifying her as a final 'virgin' girl.
