Well done Kim for creating another interesting peek into Scotlands heritage. Lots of beautiful views from the Castle and rivers are always fascinating.
I finally figured out why I enjoy your videos so much. It is certainly nice to be able to see all these neat places you show us, but I find that it's your enthusiasm for "life," in general, that is so amazing. While you show us many "stunning" places, it is YOU that are "truly stunning!!"
Reminds me of when I visited Orford Castle in the south of England, when I lived there, don't have them in Florida, it was beautiful video, I hope to return some day to show my kids just a few of the places I've been. Thanks for another smashing video.
Loved this Kim Thomas Telford also built a bridge in my home town Cartland Bridge in Lanark . Thank you for a wonderful tutorial I'm just catching up after subscribing a few months ago 👍
Great stuff Kim... Nice way to start Sunday morning here on my mountain in north central Vermont. The castle & bridge structures are amazing! Beautiful workmanship indeed! Cheers... :-)
Another great video as always such a lovely place where you live thanks for taking us along as well. I see you still rocking the sunglasses well! Your videos always do more than entertain they educate and have a nice personnel touch keep up the good work!
Historical structures fascinate me for the same reason in terms of the workmanship and effort that was put in to build these. Very enjoyable episode Kim
Thank you again Kim. In this age of "planned obsolescence" manufacturing and "disposable society" attitude, I really appreciate the craftsmanship and time that went into making something that has lasted so long and is so beautiful.
2 stunning locations, glad to see Scottish weather is back to normal. As i say to my friend's explore local you missing some treats. Love Scotland heading back for a holiday in October hopefully.
WOW Kim another wonderful video -- LOVED the Auchindoun Castle!! I really like old historical sites that are off the beaten path and are not overrun by tourists! Love the bridge also especially with your personal connection to it!
That was really enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing you return to that castle with your full camera gear sometime. That's one thing we definitely lack here in the U.S.: castles! (And the reason they remain standing while modern strctures don't is that buildings nowadays don’t have to be designed to repel a horde of Viking invaders… 😄 ) And, by the way, that wasn’t much wind…at least not compared to the shoot on the Pacific coast from which I just returned. If I decide to turn it into a vlog - which is still very much an "If" - I think I'll have to add subtitles, because you can see my lips moving, but can’t hear a word!
Kim, I love old castles. You are getting better in your story telling. At first, I didn't think I would watch your entire video. But before I knew it, the video was over. I liked your grandma's story about the bridge. Thank you for taking us along. I don't think I would ever have the chance to see this beautiful castle or bridge in person.
As soon as I saw the bridge from river level something looked familiar. It turned out that it reminded me of the Waterloo Bridge in Betws y Coed. Also built by Telford and quite possibly the very next bridge he built. I don't think the Welsh one ever had turrets though! Nice day out!
Great views and stories around the castle and bridge! Love the personal connection, and the fairy tale trees. Well done! AND done without a drone!?! Who would have thought it possible! ;-)
Really love your Explore Scotland videos Kim, so interesting to watch. Incredible location, fabulous landscape. How cool that you & your dad had it all to yourselves 😚 But oh my, that wind was strong, bit blowy! Ha! Those turrets really stand out at the bridge, I love them too! They give that bridge such an identity, wow! Great video 😚
Amazing video! Your country is definitely beautiful and historical! Lastnight, I was watching a very recent TH-cam collaboration videos of Simon Baxter and Thomas Heaton visiting your country to take amazing landscape photos. :-) You, Simon, Thomas, and all the other TH-cam landscape photographers are so amazing and inspiring! Keep on making beautiful photography work and your beautiful, educational videos! :-)
The Scottish weather is back to usual now after it being so nice! 😊 Good video Kim, I have fond memories of photographing the bridge. The castle is very interesting too.
Looks like a great spot with lots of potential. That first B-roll angle of the castle and path leading up to it would be lovely in some dramatic weather. Also loving the fake arrow loops in the bridge towers. Great stuff.
I love to see old structures too so thank you for sharing this Castle and bridge with us all. I love to explore the Scottish Castles and bridges when I am in Scotland, and here in North Yorkshire I love to explore the old Abbey's etc... we have. Like you say it is so impressive to see the craftsmanship that went in to such buildings :D Teddy Ps if you ever come to North Yorkshire I could take you to Fountains Abbey ;D
You can learn more about castle building at Guédelon, a spot, in France, where they're trying to build a castle exactly how it would have been built in the 13th century. One of their goals is to learn about methods that were probably used then but weren't documented. Went there last year and found the whole project fascinating: www.guedelon.fr/
Is there a secret to going somewhere and having it all to yourself? You seem to always pull it off, whenever I go somewhere everyone and there dog is there 😂
Well done Kim for creating another interesting peek into Scotlands heritage. Lots of beautiful views from the Castle and rivers are always fascinating.
Thanks for taking us along Kim. The bridge and the castle ruins look great.
Thanks for another trip through time!

Thanks David! Its amazing how many things Telford designed and built. What a man!
Great to see you share the same passion for old castles!

Thank you Robin!

Looked a lovely day out with daddy, Kim. But you need some work on that throwing arm! 😆 Take care wee lassie, regards, Dazza. 🇬🇧

That bridge is in amazing shape. Do you know if the turrets were actually used or just made for their looks? Great episode Kim!
Great video.
Is there fish in the river? Can one go fishing in the river?
Roger Plested The river Spey one of the best salmon rivers in Scotland
Another great adventure - thanks Kim. Glad you took your dad, or was he taking you? ;-)
The BBC needs to pick you up and help you do a series of this for tv.
That would be a dream come true!
Is there a secret to going somewhere and having it all to yourself? You seem to always pull it off, whenever I go somewhere everyone and there dog is there 😂
Keep paint on the iron and the old bridge will last far longer than the new one.
Not a single photograph taken? 😵
