Russell Hitchcock. Great singer. Great man. I met him after a show and I told him it was the second time I had seen them live. He then asked me how old I was. At the time I was 33. He then said ‘I’ve got socks older than you.’
Just one quick correction. They had 13 songs total in the Billboard Hot 100-with 8 of them making it into the top 5 and 7 of those 8 were consecutive top 5. At that time, they became the first act to match the Beatles for consecutive top 5 hits.

I really think Russell Hitchcock is tragicly underrated. The man is incredibly talented, and as far as tenors go, I put him in the same class as Bobby Hatfield and Steve Perry.
Great video! I've seen Air Supply 9 times. These guys tour year in and year out! They still put on an outstanding show. The women still love these guys.

I saw them February 10, 2024 near Palm Springs. Russel Hitchcock’s vocals were seriously impressive. Being on tour with 3 plus shows a week, at age 72, he didn’t pull back one bit. He had nowhere to hide, no background singers. His voice is STILL incredible. What a great show.

They've be3n together for 44 years. That video clip is from their 1995 concert in Taipei, Taiwan. They had eight top 5 hits from 1980 to 1983. More recemt songs, 'Dance With Me' from the 'mumo Jumbo' album from 2010, 'Desert Sea Sky', a single from 2013, and 'I Want You', a digital single from 2015, got on the AC chart. They were inducted in the ARIA Hall of Fame in Sydney, Australia in 2013.They released a new album called 'The Lost In Love Experience, first at their shows, starting in on Valentines Day, this year, then a month later on Amazon. Here is the most recent live version they did just on Monday at a concert I attended at the Indiana State Fair. You will find Russell’s voice has changed quite a bit. One he’s 70 now. Sounds like Russell H was really having issues on this one - sounded a bit like he was constricting. Graham Russell (tall guy) was super nice when I met him way back in the day! Oh my, way, way back in the day LOL! Ken, we're not really that old, are we? :)
My mom would always play them on road trips and I hated it since I was a metal head. But now, it's amazing how many of their songs I know word for word and appreciate them now. And their harmonies were really good

So I kinda dug it.. but the late 70's early 80's pop not as much back then.. ha

i know this isn't sappy love stories time but its related. my girlfriend at the time (and future wife) saw them in massachusetts around '87-'88. amazing. our first kiss was in the car with air supply's greatest hits playing on the cassette player. their music always reminds me of that time of my life and how it eventually led to our 3 daughters and now first granddaughter.

How you can relate and give detail as to how difficult the songs can be to sing, and the techniques the singers used, or perhaps could have used to help them. By the way, I went to High School with Robbie Hagar in Kent, Washington way back in the late 80's. Sammy was his uncle, so you must be related to him and his dad as well. :-). Cool.

Yes, we did love these guys. We were rockers, but WE LOVED MUSIC AND REALLY GOOD TALTENT. The voices are what make this song. They were really good.
