Just had an emergency alarm go off in the building. 1:30 am.
I go from sound asleep to fumbling for what I need to leave the room. As a bright light blinks and an annoying beeping is making it so I can’t think.
Charge down 8 flights of stairs (or is it 16?, I think you count this as 8).
Nice fresh air in the parking lot with all of our closest friends 😂 and then walking back up 8 flights of stairs once the firemen have cleared the building and verified it was a false alarm. After my middle of the night aerobic exercise, here I am trying to go back to sleep. 🥱 Did I mention ALL of our closest friends also got up and exercised with us? Cool, cool.
This time around I have everything I need right by the door in case I have to make another quick exit.
Cause well………………. Put it this way. I couldn’t have very well just charged out the door as I was.
There were a couple of things I had to put on first. Just sayin’.
All those friends I was speaking of would have been a whole lot closer had I not done the aforementioned. 🫣
Why have I never thought about this before. 🙄 It is 2:30 now.
Could take a bit to get to sleep now.
I am thankful it was a false alarm. Here is a siren for whoever wants it. There were several out there but I only had time to snag one of them. 🚨 Honestly it should probably go to Lana for the pants comment, but y’all will have to fight for it.
The firemen were too dressed up for me to make an assessment as to whether we have our next models for our calendar. Barry could pose with them. Maybe for one of the summer months. I know, I know we got one of those taken care of with the bikini and all. We will figure this out.

I recorded this video before Christmas Day but decided to hold out and post it as my last video of 2020. It has been a difficult year for us all, some more than others. It was because of time off from singing that I decided to create a TH-cam channel back in April but it took me over a month to get up the courage to post anything. I’m so happy I did. It has opened up the world to me and shown me how friendly and supportive people can be. From my very first silly, fun videos that got me my first subscriber, to my ABBA fans, my Dimash Dears, my Angelina angels and my Pentaholics, I want to dedicate the beautiful message of this song to all of you.
THANK YOU.

Ever since this one was released, I can't listen to it without tearing up, especially after this crazy year...which is still going on for many of us. This may very well be the most heartfelt song PTX has ever recorded. And I know they're the best a cappella group in the world, but the addition of Scott's piano and Kevin's cello is perfect for this song. Scott's lyrics are absolutely genius. And I love any video that Kirstie's little Pomsky pup Floof makes an appearance in (he's become quite the social media star in their Behind The Scenes videos)!
The last line is just a punch in the feels and what we all needed this year.
The words to this wonderfully reflective song are so poignant, bringing up so many emotions.

This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Each lyric is so perfect and so fitting for this past year. It makes me cry like a baby every time I listen to it. It touched me so deeply and made me think of my Hubby and kids and this year we got through that I had the lyrics printed out and mounted in frames with a small message of my own at the end, and had them framed then gave it to each of them for Christmas. Scott and Mark said it all perfectly, exactly how I feel about my family. My way of thanking them for this horrible year they got me through.

I can relate to sentimental, not only because of the visons we see in the video reminding us of what Christmas looks like with people we love, (memories, huh?) but my attachment with the song because of the lyrics and you.

I really like this song. The lyrics and the melody.
As always, lovely, lovely cello playing from Kevin. I don’t think I have mentioned this before but with stringed instruments, I physically feel them in my chest. There is just something about the vibration of rosined horse hair on strings that produces a visceral response a lot of the time. If I am more than just listening to something in the background, I tend to not only listen to music with my ears but really feel it. Not sure if this happens to everyone.
The melody is beautiful. Definitely makes you think about all the people who helped you get through the past year.
And yes, yes and yes. This is the perfect transition from Thanksgiving to the Christmas season.

Barry, I've been a Ptx fan from the beginning. I watch all sorts of reactors. Many have started to be over the top to compete for views. I've also followed you from your first video. (I was admittedly slow to subscribe to a goofy Irishman.) I applaud you for being you and being authentic about how you go about your videos. It's why I keep showing up.

Yep, this one still destroys me. I think it is absolutely my favorite song they've ever done, even if I can't listen to it very often. It just rips my heart out too hard. At least for right now. I went through a really bad time back in October, and came terrifyingly close to ending my life a few different times. It was Pentatonix and their music that actually got me though. And I mean that in earnest. If it weren't for Be My Eyes coming out when it did, I am sure I wouldn't be here right now. But this time of year is very hard on me anyway. No husband anymore. No kids. No contact with my grandkids. No family at all anymore. Just me. And I don't matter to anyone anymore. NO one would miss me if I were gone. But most days, I listen to their music, and I watch their videos and interviews and livestreams and I can believe for a time, that I matter to them. And so day by day, I visit my Pentatonix family, and I laugh and I sing and yes I cry, and I feel better. I really do. But this one. This one feels like having my heart ripped right out of my chest and shown to me while I stand there slowly dying. So as much as I love it, and I do LOVE it. This one stays in the closet with the rest of my skeletons for now. Perhaps one day, I'll find the strength to open that door. Perhaps. Loved the reaction Barry. I'm glad I found your channel.

To Gail: Hey, I feel you, girl. Listening to Pentatonix is sustaining me through serious illness, the Pandemic, the chronic Depression I battle daily, even while on medication to battle it. I honestly don’t know what I’d do or if I’d even be here without them. I listen to them every day and that’s often the single thing that gets me through this difficult time - day by day is how I try to manage what seems unmanageable. I thank God for them, their talents, their uniqueness, their sweet personalities, their humility and, of course, their life-giving music. They have all my loyalty and my love. I am a Christian, and I thank God for each one of them every day. God knows how important music - excellent music - is to my life. I thank Jesus every day for them, and pray for protection for their hearts as well as their bodies, true fulfillment, harmony (all kinds!), and their individual walks in life, which I hope and pray will or does include a personal relationship with God, the One who gave them their extraordinary gifts, skills and uniqueness. Life is pretty much hard for everyone, so I pray for their resilience in the face of unkindness and bullying, personal demons and emotional challenges they must face because they are human beings who live with other human beings in an imperfect world. And, selfishly, I pray that they will continue to create amazingly beautiful and captivating music for this beaten-down world we live in. In my opinion, we (I) need their music in my life like I need air and water and Jesus.
Gail, I also wanted to mention to you that I, too, have muttered those words, “No one would miss me or even know that I was gone (sic) if I died.” I would notice, and not just me. I’ve said those very words more times than I can count and I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that our world is overflowing with people who have felt and said those very same words and thoughts. Maybe everyone who has ever lived…Probably more than once or twice in their lifetime. In my opinion, it’s part of being human. The human condition from the very beginning, has included the search and longing for a Love no mere human being can offer. We all long for understanding. For validation. For a love that loves without cost. For a love that passes all understanding and awareness of who we are, faults and imperfections included. There isn’t a human being in all this world that can or will do that. If you’ve ever heard the statement, “You must kill the Buddha by the side of the road”, you know what I mean. Another human being cannot provide what you need because they are human and only human. They are just others on the same search as you are, and because of that, will fail you at some point. The only being/Person who can, is God through His son, Jesus. It is not my goal to proselytize you. But it is my goal to point out that you’re not alone in your feelings, and point you in the direction of the only Love that can do what no human can: love you unconditionally, no matter the cost or sacrifice required. And no matter what awful, uncharitable, selfish thing(s) you may have done in your life. It requires a stamina, a hope, a powerful forgiveness that lasts for eternity: an ability beyond what a mere human being is capable of. And since we’re all human, none of us can provide the kind of love that we all need, individually. The only One who can and will, if asked, is Jesus, who lived life as a human but without sin and His Father, who longs to be the loving, forgiving Father and Mother we all long for. If we believe what He promised us and commit to Him as our Savior, He “marks” us for all eternity with his forever stamp, the Holy Spirit, who from within us, comforts and teaches and admonishes us to live like the saved-for-all-eternity children we become when we give Him the decision-making power in our lives. He can and will notice you every moment of your life. Even in times when you find yourself doubting His presence and power. He will search for you, relentlessly and once He finds you, He will carry you in His capable arms throughout this life, whatever it holds, and for all eternity. He will provide for you in unexpected ways and through unexpected (sometimes unwanted) experiences. He will walk with you for the rest of your days on this Earth and for eternity if you let Him. He is sensitive and courteous: he will not enter your ‘home’ unless invited. But, unlike other visitors, once He’s entered, He will never leave you alone unless you ask him to. I am not Him, but I will be there for you if you ever want to text me, as yet another needy human on this planet…with the life-altering salvation and care from the only One who can give us the only thing we’ll ever need: pure, unconditional love that never forgets and never stops forgiving. I am praying for you along with many, many others who have felt what you feel and have found The Only Answer to be Jesus, who calls Himself, rightly, the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Forgive me if I’ve come on too strong or scared you with what I’ve written. I am just a human being with a lot of the same issues you’ve written about. Life is HARD and HARDER for some of us more than others. It doesn’t stop being hard once you ask him for his help and companionship, but it does become bearable and purposeful and less lonely once you’ve asked him to enter your life and help you to live it, abundantly.
God forever bless you with a love only He can provide.

Really enjoy watching your reactions to Pentatonix. As much as you are enjoying the perfection of their harmonies and the music that they create I believe you would get an equal amount of enjoyment from another acapella group called "Home Free".
