One thing you forgot to mention about the Ice of Poseidon is that it makes horrible squeaking sounds whenever you attack, which gets annoying really quickly.
Sometimes, a game sequel will introduce an element that's so good and fits so seamlessly that it's hard to go back to previous entries that didn't have it. For me, that's using the Blades of Exile to grapple foes.
It kinda hurts not seeing the draupnir spear in the top 10 because it really is a great addition to your already pretty big arsenal of attacks in ragnarok plus it has story relevance and can hold it's own like the axe and the blades. I find it so fun I sometimes just forget to switch weapons and combo my specials
just playng valhalla and managed to get such an overpowered spear build going, in was amazing, had rapid fire random elemental spears with massive explosions and spawned damaging fields around kratos. i almost felt sorry for the final boss of that run

You explain things very thoroughly and in such great detail like you demonstrated with this ranking, and since bosses are a core part of the GOW series, I think it would make for a very interesting and insightful video. Sure, it's been done before, but I have a feeling yours would be one of the better ones. No offence to any other GOW boss ranking video on TH-cam, they're all great in their own way, but you've definitely got what it takes to add your own flare to it and make it stand out. I'd say give it a shot, but of course, only if you want to. Do whatever your heart desires! :)
I'd also like to see it. I can't remember any bosses that I just flat out didn't like (except maybe Cronos if you even count him as a boss), but there were a bunch of bosses in God of War 2 that were just passable. Not to say it didn't have some really good fights.
In gow 3, the boots of Hermes, apart from giving you the ability to run towards enemies and launch them in the air, it also allows you to dash mid air, which I found very useful

I rank the Draupnir Spear around around two. As this is a weapon that Kratos can call his own with no drawbacks or from a lover, talking about the blades of chaos as it was curse into his skin thanks to Ares and the axe given by the new dead wife.
Personally, while I like the number of weapons in the Greece saga the newer games definitely have a more consistent quality despite not being quite as unique (except for the spear)

I remember talking with my dad when the Thor fight came out, and we both instinctively believed that one of the major story elements of Ragnarok was getting the Blade of Olympus to counter Mjolnir and Gungnir. No evidence to support that theory other than, "it would be fucking awesome."
You forget about the combo meter. Most "useless"weapons are good for held the combo meter up and get more orbs! For higher difficulty its really needed
I prefer the Lance of Theseus as a new weapon instead of the Spear of Destiny. The purple ice covering the Phoenix statue shows how the weapon would have evolved.

As a fan of the series for more than a decade, I was somewhat hesitant to use the Leviathan Axe, but I actually really like it and think it’s a perfect foil for Thor’s own hammer and I like the importance it has for Kratos’ character, and it’s the same reason why I love the Draupnir Spear, the Arms of Sparta and the Blade of Olympus. I also think that the Gauntlet of Zeus, Neman Cestus and the Claws of Hades are great weapons due to how powerful it is.
Yo your point about Helios not being a god - he is. There is nothing different about Titans and Olympians. They are “genetically” the same, they just call themselves different things. Titans gained the name from Ouranos who used the term as an insult. Except for being separated by generations they are the same thing. Great video though!

Appreciate the good editing to make the execution and moves line up with what exactly you're talking about-- editing this stuff must've taken a *long* time to do. Pity to see Ascension and the Barbarian Hammer rank so low, but that's mainly because of some personal bias to Ascension being a first ever encounter with GOW, and me wanting to see the hammer as a kind of underdog on the weapon front. For a future video: ALL GOW bosses might take an even *longer* time to do. It's clearly a series you are very familiar with, so this next suggestion may be a bit unfeasible... but i'd be interested to see you rate weapons from other hack-and-slash type games. Like more of a tier list kind of video. Putting weapons such as Chaoseater, the Scythe and the Tremor Gauntlet from Darksiders, the Combat Cross, gauntlet and boot from Castlevania: Lords of Shadows, the Scythe and Cross from Dante's Inferno etc. in a tier rank of how interesting and enjoyable you found them. One thing i discovered while playing through ascencion again recently is that you actually build up rage much much faster while attacking with the fire of Ares. That makes the rage mechanic a lot more tolerable
Uh the Draupnir spear most DEFINITELY has combat options on par with blades and axe...it's on YOU to 100% the game and see the weapon to its FULL potential, now your ranking doesn't really hold up

I just realized that the Drupnir spear's attack moves are very similar to the arms of sparta! thats pretty cool to see where they got their inspiration from, and also good consistency of moveset Kratos has.
I loved the draupnie spear I thought it was fun weapon we never got to truly use that tied to Kratos’ Greek heritage and especially being able to absorb any ailments from enemies and use it against them was so fun especially bifrost
Hmm Honestly the "Efreet" feels very similar to the Runic Summons Atreus uses and out of the many weapons Kratos has wielded the "Efreet" is one I could see Atreus using at some point too. Plus it'd just be cool to see Atreus in a GOW Spin off game set in Arabian mythology.

I knew it. As soon as blade of athena come up it would be Terra's bane. So fucking cool when I tried on my psp back then. Not only it looks awesome with the deep red and fire it also does an insane amount of damage while also recharge automatically.
i agree on most of the the places but i gotta telly you, you should def have considered the especial attacks from the blade of the gods that you do while blocking, because dude, those animations are one of the sickest i've seen in the series, kratos look so epic moving the blade in those ways
The barbarian hammer isn't that bad ..... After you 100% the game and do bonus play with unlimited titan rage and it's maxed out. Basically turning you into a flaming god of ground pounding
If you go triangle triangle and pull the bow to cancel you can spam the combo. And it's as overpowered as you would think. It's a bit harder to use than the nemean cestus, but it probably deals the same damage.
if there's one thing i know from watching this video... is that Poseidon is the coolest god ever, he have lightning, ice, and control the water and ocean... while the king of Olympus, Zeus. Just Yellow Lightning

@@jurtheorc8117 I felt like the Barbarian Hammer was offended the most. I can see that not being able to roll turns off people. And I understand that putting it in the bottom based on personal subjective enjoyment is fine, but the weapon is really not useless or redundant. It has a nice ranged attack with the wave of fire with L1 + Triangle input. It deals lots of damage, even more so in the rage mode. It is a good tool to shatter petrified enemies, like one hit can shatter even big frozen enemies. Also the summoned souls can trip enemies and prepare them to be attacked. Other then the hammer I would've loved to see Typhoon's Bane higher in the list. Also, petrifying magic with Medusa's head and Eurayle's head are immensely useful. Perhaps my initial comment was a bit rude for which I apologize.
Only real point I disagree on was the impact of the Draupnir spear in GoW Ragnarok. Its the first weapon in the series made specifically FOR Kratos, with his blood, is a nod to not only his heritage but to the idea that hes become a new person and finally gets a chance to be better
I remember playing Ghost of sparta waay back when, and accidentally unlocking the "Aphrodite's ambrosia", and I couldn't stop laughing at how one of the most OP weapons in the game is Kratos's foot.
I completed Gow 1 and 2 without dodgerolling because playing with keyboard, and even then I got nothing for the hammer, too slow, I constantly get interrupted, the gold orbs weren't even that helpful and I rather gave the 17500 points I'd need to upgrade it into the blades and Quake. Doesn't help that "spear of destiny" implies this is the thing that impaled Christ and that's just hilarious
In my opnion, the barbarian hammer is the best weapon in all serie, because if you aim with the typhoon bane after a attack you will kill the cooldown beetween attacks
Nice video. A few years ago I would have agree with you on the barbarian hammer and Medusa's gaze, but I've lean to love the gaze, and the hammer can be sped up a great deal if you use the bow to cancel its animations correctly.
I fucking love the Blade of Artemis, this shits my favorite weapon in the whole game, probably out of every other weapon in the series. As for the Cronos' Rage (don't know why it's called that, Cronos' has nothing to do with lightning) and Army Of Hades, I agree. Although I now need to play through 2 again and use Cronos' Rage the most to see what you're talking about and experience that for myself
Safe for Ascension, i do think that the Blades of Athena are worse than the Blades of Chaos for one crucial issue in GOW2, and is that the blades almost don't seem to affect it's target when youre attacking, especially the ones with armor like the soldiers in Rodes and the fauns. Just heavy attacks seems to have an effect, but the rest is not too overwhelming. Plus. The strike of the furies attack, although hits hard and deals a lot of damage, it's mostly a "one target" attack, and it can really punishes you if you use it in crowded areas. As a side note, I do hate the Ciclone of Chaos attack, cause it uses the same button of blocking and the soft attack, so it's enfuriating to misspress those buttons when you try to counterattack. In 2018 and Ragnarok at least it really affects the enemies, but in the original trilogy if one target isn't affected, it can be a really painfull mistake.
It's funny how after the Norse saga, the Blade of Olympus is still the most overpowered weapon in the series from both a story and gameplay standpoint

Me personally I think the Draupnir spear is at least top 5 for me i love that weapon to death
yeah especially the elemental siphon part which he didn't mention at all. I love getting the bifrost siphon on it and it makes dispatching the Einherjar so easy
For what I’ve heard the plural for cestus is cesti, also, another thing to point out, I’ve heard some people pronounce it as kestus and kesti, but I’m not so sure of myself

The God of War weapon names are funny to me, Because a lot of them have the perfect names for Mid Tier energy drinks/ Mid-Low Tier pop.

I just realized that the Drupnir spear's attack moves are very similar to the arms of sparta! thats pretty cool to see where they got their inspiration from, and also good consistency of moveset Kratos has.
I loved the draupnie spear I thought it was fun weapon we never got to truly use that tied to Kratos’ Greek heritage and especially being able to absorb any ailments from enemies and use it against them was so fun especially bifrost

Hmm Honestly the "Efreet" feels very similar to the Runic Summons Atreus uses and out of the many weapons Kratos has wielded the "Efreet" is one I could see Atreus using at some point too. Plus it'd just be cool to see Atreus in a GOW Spin off game set in Arabian mythology.

I knew it. As soon as blade of athena come up it would be Terra's bane. So fucking cool when I tried on my psp back then. Not only it looks awesome with the deep red and fire it also does an insane amount of damage while also recharge automatically.
It's pronounced the same way you Hercules from GOWIII states "I may have slain the Nemean Lion" (or similar to that quote)
i agree on most of the the places but i gotta telly you, you should def have considered the especial attacks from the blade of the gods that you do while blocking, because dude, those animations are one of the sickest i've seen in the series, kratos look so epic moving the blade in those ways

After you 100% the game and do bonus play with unlimited titan rage and it's maxed out. Basically turning you into a flaming god of ground pounding
If you go triangle triangle and pull the bow to cancel you can spam the combo. And it's as overpowered as you would think. It's a bit harder to use than the nemean cestus, but it probably deals the same damage.
Since you are really into God of War, have you ever played ascension multiplayer? If yes, what's your opinion about it?

Hercules himself pronounces how Nemean should be said, "Knee-me-un", im pretty sure another character (i don't remember if it was Gaia or Athena) says it the same way too

@@jurtheorc8117 I felt like the Barbarian Hammer was offended the most. I can see that not being able to roll turns off people. And I understand that putting it in the bottom based on personal subjective enjoyment is fine, but the weapon is really not useless or redundant.
It has a nice ranged attack with the wave of fire with L1 + Triangle input. It deals lots of damage, even more so in the rage mode. It is a good tool to shatter petrified enemies, like one hit can shatter even big frozen enemies. Also the summoned souls can trip enemies and prepare them to be attacked.
Other then the hammer I would've loved to see Typhoon's Bane higher in the list. Also, petrifying magic with Medusa's head and Eurayle's head are immensely useful.

Only real point I disagree on was the impact of the Draupnir spear in GoW Ragnarok. Its the first weapon in the series made specifically FOR Kratos, with his blood, is a nod to not only his heritage but to the idea that hes become a new person and finally gets a chance to be better
I remember playing Ghost of sparta waay back when, and accidentally unlocking the "Aphrodite's ambrosia", and I couldn't stop laughing at how one of the most OP weapons in the game is Kratos's foot.
Blades of exile have the grapple. Enough said.
I completed Gow 1 and 2 without dodgerolling because playing with keyboard, and even then I got nothing for the hammer, too slow, I constantly get interrupted, the gold orbs weren't even that helpful and I rather gave the 17500 points I'd need to upgrade it into the blades and Quake. Doesn't help that "spear of destiny" implies this is the thing that impaled Christ and that's just hilarious

In my opnion, the barbarian hammer is the best weapon in all serie, because if you aim with the typhoon bane after a attack you will kill the cooldown beetween attacks

Nice video. A few years ago I would have agree with you on the barbarian hammer and Medusa's gaze, but I've lean to love the gaze, and the hammer can be sped up a great deal if you use the bow to cancel its animations correctly.

I fucking love the Blade of Artemis, this shits my favorite weapon in the whole game, probably out of every other weapon in the series. As for the Cronos' Rage (don't know why it's called that, Cronos' has nothing to do with lightning) and Army Of Hades, I agree. Although I now need to play through 2 again and use Cronos' Rage the most to see what you're talking about and experience that for myself
Safe for Ascension, i do think that the Blades of Athena are worse than the Blades of Chaos for one crucial issue in GOW2, and is that the blades almost don't seem to affect it's target when youre attacking, especially the ones with armor like the soldiers in Rodes and the fauns. Just heavy attacks seems to have an effect, but the rest is not too overwhelming.
Plus. The strike of the furies attack, although hits hard and deals a lot of damage, it's mostly a "one target" attack, and it can really punishes you if you use it in crowded areas.
As a side note, I do hate the Ciclone of Chaos attack, cause it uses the same button of blocking and the soft attack, so it's enfuriating to misspress those buttons when you try to counterattack. In 2018 and Ragnarok at least it really affects the enemies, but in the original trilogy if one target isn't affected, it can be a really painfull mistake.
