    F bodies actually are pretty light. They utilize some fiberglass throughout the body. Really an underrated car all the way around.

      A MIATA IS AT ABOUT 3K LBS, AN F BODY IS LIKE 3500? POWER MAKES UP FOR IT. AWESOME CAR.

    • @Matt_Lanzer_13
      @Matt_Lanzer_13 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      buhrrito lmao Miata 3000 pounds? Yea right. More like 2200. A stock 4th gen is around 3300 pounds, but with a lot more power. Yes, power does make up for it though

    • @ChevyCamaroIsBetter
      @ChevyCamaroIsBetter 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Certain v8 3rd gen fbodies weigh within 500-600lbs of a miata from factory.

    • @Matt_Lanzer_13
      @Matt_Lanzer_13 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Warhead Urban Exploration no they don’t. Even the new miatas weigh around 2400 pounds. The lightest 3rd gen f-body available weighed around 3200 pounds....still a light car especially considering the power, but nowhere near within 500 pounds of a Miata lmao

    • @ChevyCamaroIsBetter
      @ChevyCamaroIsBetter 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Matt_Lanzer_13 4cyl 3rd gens weighed 2800. Base model v8 cars weigh around 3000. Even 1le cars weighed around 3100. You can look that up. Also the NC miata weigh 2450-2500..

      Yea me to. Some people gave them a bad wrap but look how many of them are still on the road running granted the engines used are found in all Buicks and Chevys in the same time ERA with the 3.1 3.4 and 3.8 we're all great engines. My first car was a Pontiac with a 3.1l v6. Ran the shit out of that car and it never gave up on me

    • @biggboysouth
      @biggboysouth 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yup I bought a 2001 v6 firebird during college and it had 100K miles. I sold the car at 200K miles for a 2002 WS6 =) but Firebird was still running like a top. sold it to a college kid an last I heard over a year ago he was still driving it. I honestly miss that car.

    That thing is gorgeous. I love seeing any unusual drift builds. I'm sending this to one of my friends who just bought a 4th gen Camaro for motivation.
    On a side note, you should strap your helmet. I've seen what can happen if you don't. One of my friends got a concussion at a drift event when her helmet flew off.

      It's kind of like getting in a new manual car, take off once or twice and you just feel what the car wants you to do. You can weight transfer and clutch kick anything, so do that once conservatively like Taylor did and you can just feel what the car wants you to do!

    I drift a LSA supercharged L33/4 speed gforce dogbox swapped 1996 ford Thunderbird. The entire chassis is seam welded and the subframes ties into the roll cage with custom subframe connectors i made. I did redo the pickup points on both subframes so i can run corvette wisefab components. It weighs 3090 pounds, makes 620 wheel on vp110, AND its IRS. The thing fux. I finished it like 3 weeks ago. Ive run Mt.Rose highway (google it...the road from Reno Nevada to lake Tahoe) so many times theres rubber dingle berries covering every outside guard rail on every corner. I have a 1.5j swapped '98 330ci too but i like my thunder chicken WAY more. It has such a ridiculous amount of angle and its long so at full lock its SOOOO stable and controllable. Buy one and build it. An LS fits in there super easy and the suspension is actually really really good stock the OE knuckles just get kinda weak when you cut them enough to make good angle and nobody makes poly bushings for the rear suspension. Oh shit thats right, if you get one have your local machinist spin you up some solid aluminum subframe bushings and upgrade the bolts to grade 12. It makes an astronomical difference. 2j swapped thunder chicken?? Any takers?? Ill share my suspension settings and modification specifications with you...by the way, its perfectly 50/50 weight distro as well. Like i said the thing fux.

    416 cubic inches is about 6.8 litre, also your vette has a torques tube connecting the motor to gearbox (transaxles) at least i think it does
    for those wondering what a transaxle is, its a gearbox and diff built in to one unit they us them in V8 super cars and the newer vette's not sure about the older ones tho

    you see sn95s drifting and you think why can't F Bodys of the same Era do that 2 they got LS moters from 97 onward its a no brainer to turn them into drift mobiles
