“A pawn shop sign.” If you look up vintage pawn shop signs, they have a symbol with 3 golden balls. Origins of the symbol are not for certain but it was widely used to indicate the shop was a pawn shop. So yea, they looked like 2/3s of a pawn shop sign.
Okay, I know a lot of people don't sympathize/empathize with Gilligan since he's, well, Gilligan. BUT, at 3:52, The Professor goofs! Some people fail to realize Gilligan's not the only one on the island who makes mistakes. Gilligan's just the only one who gets called out on his, making it seem that he's the only one who does( that he 'ruins every rescue,' which simply isn't true). I know this is a silly sitcom, but I just had to get that off of my chest!
The only times I can think of that she broke the fourth wall was in the first season. Where Gilligan knocked himself out on whatever was near him. Then she shrugged at the camera. (Oh, I guess there was also one time in the early second season as well.)
Alan and Bob had really great chemistry together. A big key to the show being so memorable.
