INVENTION OF FILM

Before the motion picture was invented, there was the still photograph. A man named Eadweard Muybridge was hired to determine what a horse looked like when it was running. Muybridge created a row of cameras that would snap a photo when a horse ran over trip threads he lay on the ground. It was soon discovered that when the images were flipped, the horse became animated. In came Thomas Edison to invent one of the first motion picture cameras and the rest is history.
