In this quickstart tutorial, he demonstrates how to get started with AMES’ new Arrow audio interface. After the initial set up, Leggy gives a guided tour over all of the Arrow’s buttons and knobs, included Console 2.0 software, and shows how to connect microphones and instruments.
    Universal Audio’s products are known for their intuitive designs, as well as near-zero latency workflow using realtime UAD processing and Unison Technology. Leggy explains all of the key features on the Arrow while teaching AMES how to operate hers. By the end of this video, both you and AMES will be ready to record tracks quickly and easily with the Arrow audio interface.

    Just fantastic explanation. By far the best I've seen so far and you make it so simple instead of endless and complicated tutorials that are not specifically relevant to my unit. I like how the focus is on the Arrow and although I have the Apollo Solo, it totally applies. This method is the best because it's like a normal set up of a musician and the tools without the complicated lingo of experienced engineers. Now I feel I can really start recording with my Apollo Solo. Thank you, Thank you!!

    All that vocal processing on 1 single DSP chip?
    That's actually pretty good.
    This unit would be my pick if it had the conversion and dynamic range of the x line.
    Guess I'll be spending a few more hundred for that.

    Hi! I have apollo twin and when i start recording with UA 610-B everything ok, but after 5-10 minutes, volume decreases. If i turn off the phantom power and turn on again, the volume change back to normal, again after 5-10 minutes decreases.. What could be the problem? Thank you!

    Just a word of warning about the included "Legacy" plugins. The word "Legacy" sounds appealing, but it simply means UAD's old, first attempts at modelling the gear which have since been re-modelled and replaced because the old ones were not good enough.

    • @prototype8137
      @prototype8137 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Its not that they werent good enough its that everything in life changes and evolves. I still use the la2a legacy and it sounds great.

    • @BeauStephensonVoiceActor
      @BeauStephensonVoiceActor 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      "Good enough" is totally subjective. I own most of the UAD2 plugins along with the legacy plugs, and they all get heavy use. The thing is, if you're getting a lot of mojo from the unison pre, you don't necessarily want or need a ton of saturation from a compressor. In that sense, the legacy LA2A or 1176 are more transparent in a really good way. In a lot of cases they win out against the other "better" plugins when I am building a chain quickly to track an artist in my studio. Use what you have and learn what it's really doing, and you'll go far! No need to splurge on plugins to get fantastic results. Just my two cents about that.

    He missed a step between 8:53 - 9:00 minute mark... You have to also enable "UAD REC" in the "Insert Effects" section on the UAD console (right side under the meter). This would set the effects to actually "print everything in real time". You can see at 9:01 this option is highlighted in red on the right side of the screen but was not selected before! He didn't explain that step. Maybe the editor cut it out?

      @@mrmindstorms hey. i bought the arrow and figure it out myself. it is possible: you have to route whatever you want to the arrows virtual channels (in Console, which is the software it comes with), then mute the virtual channel (so wont be on the mix main output) but send if to the headphones out (it has sends faders). Then set de cue output source on Console to "HP" instead of "Mix" and you are set.

    is anyone having an issue with the leveling of the mic? my monitoring level in my headphones and speaker monitors are very low when im going IN to the mic, but the level of the recording is super loud and I can't for the life of me figure out why... Im using protools with all the suggested setting but nothings working. I tried every routing combination in protools and the ua console as well. Im also using a Rode NT1 mic and DT 770 Pro 80 ohm headphones. I don't think I should have to turn the headphone level to max just to hear the mic input at normal level and then "Bam" the recording is loud as hell on playback.

    So far i love the arrow for what it is; a really powerful audio interface.
    the issue im having is when i want to use the Marshal plexi amp plug in that comes free with the arrow. it sounds AMAZING but i dont want to HAVE to use the "console" to record my guitar. I want to just use the plexi amp as a standalone plugin through ableton but it won't let me unless i run it through the console. it was a little frustrating and confusing figuring it all out but i finally got it i think, it was just my one complaint and a slight inconvenience but overall the product is a 10/10 though!
    also sidenote to anyone thinking of getting one, you NEED to buy a separate thunderbolt 3 connection, the Arrow does NOT come with one and it NEEDS to be thunderbolt 3 specifically

    • @michalmikolajmaslowski3994
      @michalmikolajmaslowski3994 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I am not mistaken, the plug-in in question, and others (also including the UNISON ones) have to be run through the Console, and are not standalone by design. They need to be run using the Arrow's physical DSP.

    With the SM7B and Arrow universal audio do I still need the CL1 Cloudfilter to boost the microphone signal?

    • @UniversalAudio
      @UniversalAudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the source you're recording and how much SPL it's generating. With an aggressive vocalist it's likely no, but with something softer some say yes. I think if you feel you need it, you're likely using the wrong mic.

    • @icarus2605

      Second purpose is to connect it to the zoom H6 for podcast.
      I have heard a lot of people who suggest to buy the cloud filter but based on your answer is probably only in case of connection to the H6.
      Am I correct?

    • @UniversalAudio
      @UniversalAudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@icarus2605 Again, it depends on how loud you speak. It would be easy to start without it and see if the need arises. Or you could order it but make sure you can return it if you end up not needing it. Hope this helps.
