Earlier videos definitely across down. Now I think he’s gotten better at that enough that puns would kill you quicker

did an old crossword where one of the long answers was "Digiorno Pizzas". wish i could have seen NL tackle that one. either he would have galaxy brained it and got it immediately, or been really pissed off at the unfairness of it since they call them Delissio up in Canada. either way, woulda been top tier content.

Has NL said anything about doing a cryptic? I would love to see his thought process through that. For anyone that doesn’t know, a cryptic is a crossword where every clue is a puzzle in itself.

"structures that are many blocks wide" was infuriating to me on this one. Just not a good prompt imo.
"Dins" was also incredibly annoying because I know there's often the whole "adding an S" thing but clamor as a noun is so much less common than "clamors" as a verb. Maybe that's just my brain but "din" would be much easier to come to if the clue was "clamor." A few super obnoxious ones in this puzzle for sure, also the choice of Mazatlan for SRTA is very odd considering clues like that usually use a much more internationally known city.
All that being said the man seriously believe masks are held by the eyes.
yeah but clamor as a verb means the same thing, you might thing like NL that clamor means “desire strongly” but you won’t find that definition in the dictionary from google: shout loudly and insistently

Seeing as ive never played a full game of chess in my life and I usually get similar if not better times than NL on these crosswords I’m gonna say definitely not the latter but who knows maybe I’d be a chess god now
