It's crazy. Do the insurance companies stop covering blood pressure medication when the patient's blood pressure stabilizes due to the medication? No. So how is Zepbound for obesity any different? So maddening. glp1 is a hormone that is part of the endocrine system. You can detect glp-1 in the blood. Seems to me that those on tirzepatide or semaglutide who resolve their obesity through glp-1 supplimentation should be diagnosed with an endocrine hormone insufficiency that can be successfully treated with Tirzepatide or semaglutide. Maybe doctors should not be diagnosing people with obesity since obesity is a sign and symptom of the underlying endocrine hormone problem. They should be diagnosing people with a metabolic disorder /endocrine hormone insufficiency. Perhaps then the insurance companies would pay for it.

Yes!! I was just saying this the other day. Since I’ve been researching more about metabolic dysfunction and also ways I can be improving my metabolic health, I feel like putting all of us in this “obesity” bucket is maybe not the way to go with getting insurance approvals.

Why don’t you keep the order of 10mg compound & just micro dose it at 7.5mg so it will last longer as long as compound is available. I’m in maintenance but still keep the 15mg & microdose it. Allowing for stock pile.

When you roll of the treatment, should you scale down to 2.5mg? Or just come off suddenly is ok please?

It's crazy.. I was on name brand Zep but PA was denied. I've lost 60 lbs, was on 7.5.
I'm switching Dr's, don't think mine did a through job to get it approved.
I'm not sure of my next move. I have two 7.5 pins & 2 boxes of 5 left. Thinking about talking to Fridays & see what they can do... really can't afford to pay out of pocket 🤷🏽‍♀️

Good luck with that! FDA took tirzep off shortage list and most compound pharmacies stopped producing it 😢
