Also I used to get in trouble for always using the fire effects lol, once they called the counselor because I made a picture of a horse surrounded by fire and I had to lie and say I thought it was tall grass so they didn’t get me in trouble

My mother worked at the school as a volunteer, so some days I would usually have to stay an hour or two past 3 when everyone else would be dismissed for the day. I would go to the library and log onto the computers they had in there and play this while she worked until we finally went home. This, or one of the other versions of Kid Pix. Brings back memories.

Honestly I feel like this program would still be super useful in compositing digital art assets and I don't think I would have ever gotten into recording music, editing video, or graphic design without going BUCKWILD in the COMPUTER LAB on some KID PIX ❤❤
I remember “baking” a birthday cake for my mom in kid pix. I had “mixed” the ingredients that were different brushes and just layered effects upon effects until I got to the icing and just wrote happy birthday.

I got an older version of this when I was a kid. It was a bundle, but this was why we bought the game. It's faded into oblivion a lot more than the other games. Those games being The Logical Journey Of The Zoombinis (twelve logic-based minigames) and Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego (using detail and geography to determine a suspect's appearance and where they went after the location you follow them to).
In second grade I made this ‘Christmas card’ in Kid Pix where I just typed out the lyrics of Jingle Bells and put pictures of reindeer on a generic winter background. I wish I still had that card

My school district that I went to growing up had Kid Pix 4 on the school computers, I loved it so much that my dad actually got me a copy of Kid Pix 4 on CD-ROM from eBay when I was just starting the 3rd grade in September 2009! :)
