The relationship between De Niro and Grodin is remarkable. The " Get a new watch " scene on the train is beautifully acted by both. Several vignettes come to mind...when Jack meets his daughter...the final goodbye...an excellent film all around.

RIP Charles Grodin. One of the all-time greats. And he is right - "Midnight Run" is easily his best role.

I still miss him... He is in a lot of great movies. I think Midnight Run really is special for him, not just because it's a bigger starring role, but because of all the great people he got to work with. He is perfect in this movie, the way he and De Niro played off each other.

I think if these 7 guys sat down and talked career in the early 00s it would have been something special.
    Leslie Nielsen
    Fred Willard
    Charles Grodin
    Chevy Chase
    Craig T. Nelson
    Ed O'Neill
    Tim Allen
I think these guys would have a great conversation on comedy, acting and life.

Uhhh... Look up Twilight Zone accident.. or maybe you shouldn't, actually. Brandon Lee got killed on The Crow. Stuntmen were being killed all the time back then. Not so much now with advances in how things are shot.

Midnight run is a dull movie when you are supposed to be a star or something in your life. But you realised that you could not be a star, This movie becomes your favourite movie. All the characters become so charmy.

What went wrong with Ishtar ? It was terrible! Not the fault of the Press 😂

I have to honestly say that even though I was a big fan of Charles Grodin's dry sense of humor and was looking forward to seeing this movie, I was disappointed. I couldn't even finish watching it. All the f-bombs totally turned me off to it.
Prudish? Maybe. But it was just way too excessive.

This is why parents who are tyrannical about keeping their kids from hearing swear words are doing their kids a disservice. They grow up psychologically scarred and become adults who are triggered by something as innocuous as swearing in a movie.

    • @sterlingholobyte
      @sterlingholobyte ปีที่แล้ว

@@nocalsteve Oh, give me a break.😄 Scarred? How about respectful and not vulgar. And talk about "triggered," imagine being triggered by someone's personal opinion... about a movie.
