- Shinjuku station is said to be a huge maze.
Even though I have lived in Tokyo for many years, there are still times when I get lost.
If you don't want to get lost on your first visit to Shinjuku, please watch this video to the end.

I originally came here to get some more varied street view for the Build The Earth project, but its crazy to realize that a lot of peoples lives intersect here. Almost all of them want to get to a different location, but all of them have their reasons. Some use the station for their daily commute, but some are studying abroad, and will probably never return to that location again. Even the people shopping, and tourists passing by to take in the local scenery. Awesome video, and good luck on your journey, whoever reads this.
I wish that I had found your video before I visited Tokyo 8 days ago. On my last free day, without a local guide, I wanted to go from Shinjuku to Shibuya at the scramble crossing, just to see if I could do it on my own. Needless to say I got lost. I entered at that Keio-Line West gate, coming in from Chuo Dori Ave. I saw the taxis, turned left and went down a long tunnel lined with shops and food. Then at the end of the tunnel where there were some gates, not seeing any signs, and just following others, turned left, went down an escalator to another level, found an information officer and asked how to get out of the station. Was directed to exit three to get back to the street. I did notice many native Japanese and gaijin using their phones to look for directions too. Thanks for the tour. Next time I will use your video and do more map study prior to arrival.
The sense of calm that descends over me whenever I am watching your videos is undeniable. Thank you for these moments of peace.
I haven't been to Shinjuku for about 5 years, but it has changed a lot. 👀
I agree with you. It'll change even more with the coming massive redevelopment of West Shinjuku.
Thanks for making this vid! I'll be coming off the South Terrace and can enter at the new South Gate and N'EX platforms 5/6 are right there! Great!
I first arrived at Shinjuku November 2022.. I still trying to find my way out....
This is only funny for those who have been there
I’ve been there many times
I just visited Japan and agree that Shinjinku station is huge and the most confusing. I still don't know how I ended up at Keio/Odakyu on some days and the Tokyo Metro Building other times when my hotel is near Lumine. I love the organized chaos in Japan. It made the trip fun.
Hi, thanks for your vids navigating stations in Tokyo, really help a lot for me. quick question, I saw you tap in at new south gate, tap out at Koshu Kaido... then again at south gate then west gate. that means we need to pay to enter & exit the station even we do not ride the train/metro , is that right?
I would definitely get lost😂👀😅
Hi, what camera did you use? Thanks 😃
everything is beautiful✨✨✨✨
how come you have to scan IC card for every gate even if you don’t ride on a train? will you get charged for it?
你好,請問從新宿車站的第5、6月台要到新南改札有沒有電梯(elevator)可搭?因為是搭乘N'EX有帶大件行李,如果搭電梯會比較不妨礙其他的用路人,謝謝!
0:11 hey man, awesome video but where did you get that color coded transit map.
Thank you. I made this graphic from scratch and import it into Google Earth Pro, then composite it by image overlay feature.
@@MotionTravel amazing thats why i didn't found those maps anywhere
Where is the train station stamp??? I want to collect them all =D
Me too
Now I know why people say trains in tokyo are so confusing. So many gates.
How did you manage to get out through the gates on the same station? Usually you have to talk to staff and pay a fee even though you didn't ride the train. I've made this mistake twice entering the wrong platform, lol.
@@DJHEADPHONENINJA there is a "platform ticket", it is 150 yen every 2 hours but that doesn't include transfers to private railway platforma
Got lost almost everyday when we got there for 7 days😂😂I was super tired everytime we were able to get the right gate🙄🤣
this station is just like a mall 😅
7:00 can you tell us the size of the coin lockers? in both cm and inches please :)
生まれも育ちも東京の私でも新宿駅は迷います
😂 God blss hinjuku ,🦑⁉️ 🐙
The most complicated train station. Even now still get lost sometime
I agree with your opinion. What's worse is that construction is underway here and there, and the scenery changes over time. Even though I have lived here for many years, I still get confused.
why not 16?
and 17, and....
The world’s busiest train station
Not......... so helpful. Went in and out of so many gates........totally lost. Especially going outside and then walking around and going in another exit.
신주쿠 역, 놀랐습니다. 서울역보다 전혀 전혀 큽니다.
新宿駅は駅員に道を聞いても答えが返ってこないことで有名です。
