Hi Alex, thank you so much for this great video! I have heard about Leetcode a million times from my CS friends and today I am super excited to use it myself! Great video and hope to see more of this stuff!
Hey I am a fresh grad just find out your channel. Just got out of university with a stat and econ major during the pandemic. When I was in the job search, I found that lots of skills required for junior level data analyst were not taught in school. I have only worked with R using tidyverse + ggplot2. But python definitely have a edge over R in real life work. After watching your videos, I am much more confident that if I switch to python with panda + tableau/power Bi, I will eventually get DA position to start my career. Please keep doing more videos! I love your insights about DA, and they’re super helpful for those of us with a statistics degree but don’t have skills to meet the DA job requirements. Thank you.
I had fun doing it... Thanks Alex you cleared my mind about what I want to. do in my life... Please do it every week... Don't just stop it after 3rd one... Thanks again
Haha well easy for Software Engineers! It’s easy/medium for Data Analysts I would say. I think these ones are pretty close to what you may be asked in an actual interview. So hopefully that helps give a Baseline for what you should be shooting for! 😁
Hello Alex, should an Economic major become a Data analyst ? my major is economics not data or computer science. should i just try my luck with Economics B.A or learn something like Data analyst after graduating? im really not sure, my goal is to find a stable job with good pay.
I agree with Al - if you get the right hard skills with your degree you can definitely become a DA. A Masters will of course be beneficial in landing a job, but that's another 2 years or so you could be getting experience. Just my thought!
I was an economics major as well - the transition to data analytics is actually quite perfect one. Learn Excel, learn basic SQL, learn data visualization (in Excel, Tableau Public, PowerBi). Find datasets, play around, show trends, visual trends and communicate the trends.
I am learning a lotttttt from your vids can you make a SQL DBA roadmap? I know you are a data analyst and have a background in data science but can you help me I really like to work with tables and SQL queries but I do not know the road map of a DBA and in the future can you make more project-base videos like the ones in the portfolio playlist i was able to learn a lottttt from them tnx a lottt and keep going
Hi Alex. A very very big thanks to you from my side I have learnt python and am very confused in choosing the correct path using python to work with like is it data science field or developer field. At that time only i have seen your video data scientist vs data analyst then i have got the clarity that I should go for data analyst and from then I have been watching every video of yours which is very informative. Thank so much for that I have one question for you i have learnt pandas, numpy ,MySQL, tableau for now can I apply for the data analyst jobs on the sites or should I wait till I learn everything like matplotlib, statistics, regular expressions, string manipulation, story telling etc. some other topics please give your valuable suggestion . Thanks
I would not wait to start applying. If you are solid at all of those skills you've mentioned you're ready for an entry level job. Now you just need to make a great resume, prep for interviews, create a portfolio if you want to, and start applying/working with recruiters to get interviews!
Thank you so much for uploading this! I'm applying to entry level data analyst roles and improving my SQL skills, so this is perfect for me!

I'm an econ major becoming a data analyst. Figure out which hard skills you need to develop. Your bedrock is solid.
