We hope that you enjoy this video and that it helps you to feel more comfortable asking someone to dance. Just to clarify what I said in the video--I'm not suggesting we just "grab" someone by the wrist. Especially if you don't know that person. :D

You said you look at the dance floor to find someone who knows what they are doing. How can beginners get started if you only look for other experienced dancers?

I stopped going out dancing because I was the only one doing the asking and they know me.

I feel ya.... as jewels and gems is how we need to treat someone we're asking to dance. Gracias for the nice kudos!

How confident are you on the dance floor? I’m asking all these questions because it’ll help us answer your question more accurately.

The way to ask: Go up to your chosen lady, now a tiny bit (lean forward and tip your head forward but continue to make eye contact), and at the same time put your right hand forward with palm up, and say “May I please have this one dance with you?”
You might say instead “May I have the honor of this one dance with you?” especially if you are older (in your 50s and older).
Women love to dance with men who have very good manners. That’s the basis for the woman to say yes.
Depending on how and where she’s sitting, when she says yes you can reach over and as she’s standing, pul her chair out just a couple of inches.
When the dance is over walk her back to her table and as you’re depositing her there, smile and say thank you, and now your head quickly.
Or maybe you’re still on the dance floor and about to start your second dance with her!
By the way, if she said no in the beginning, tell her “I hope you’ll change your mind later. Enjoy your evening.” Smile and go over to another woman.
Someone will say yes. I promise!

🤩 spoken like a true gentleman. I enjoyed everything you said. Hope other leaders read it. They’re truly the best ways to leave a good impressions on and off the dance floor. ♥️
