I was sold when I saw a pair of Cavender's tan pirarucu on someone in person. I have to get a pair. I like a few different ones I've seen. Leaning towards the Cavender's I like the way they look the most those are nice though also.

I think the scale pattern looks beautiful, but my concern would be keeping them clean. What has your experience been with dust collecting in those grooves?
Good question, I wouldn’t worry too much about dust. It’s safe to give them a lite brushing and wiping to get any dust off them. I wouldn’t brush too hard to avoid ripping into the inside corners, but other than that condition with a conditioner like Bick 4 (always test a small section like in my case pull tab areas first) and you should be good to go. These boots do run a whole 1.5 size bigger. Not entirely sure why that much though, being square toe may be a contributing factor but it’s still quite a bit.
By the way, I have seen some pirarucu boots with a much smaller pattern size (maybe 1/3 of the size of this example) that are made, I suppose, from a younger/smaller arapaima. If you like this style, maybe look into finding a pair like that.
Those smaller scale ones look awesome and look a little dressier while the bigger scales on these make it look more casual. I definitely see myself adding a pair of smaller scale Pirarucu to my lineup in the near future. I appreciate you watching and your insight on the boots.
@@HeyDennisOfficial Along similar lines, there is also sea bass - it looks almost like snake skin, but has the same sort raised texture around the scales as the pirarucu. Dan Post is the only maker I have seen carrying it, so far.

They do, they have stores in DFW and Houston. The belt is a little weird and too thick, I would try it on and make sure it fits right before buying it. I didn’t pay attention to that and I’m having to modify it. They have more color variations as well.

I have never tried on any Hometown boots, so how are they size wise?, smaller/ bigger ??
