You are an absolute legend my friend. I was surprised that the oem ecu is a seriously cool piece of kit and the adjustment in the parameters is as good as the basic standalone aftermarket items that are available. Please continue to exploit the use of this unit and I am interested in direct contact with you to discuss the possibility of a venture between us using your knowledge and my own business in this area in England which is crying out for a guy like you that talks the most common sense and simplify the whole process of mapping

Thanks so much for this video. I easily got the full flash installed on my e39 530i. Only problem I have is that the idle RPM is a bit too low (shuddering throughout the car under 680rpm or so), but that's pretty easy to adjust.

ip_n_sp_is Nominal idle speed without additional load on the engine.
ip_dri_n_sp_is Nominal idle speed with drive engaged for AT gearbox.
ip_acin_n_sp_is Nominal idle speed with air conditioner switched on.
ip_dri_acin_n_sp_is Nominal idle speed with air conditioner switched on and drive engaged for AT gearbox.

Nice video. Have 2 questions? After EWS deletion will the keys still matter? Not very clear about the switching on the ignition. While flashing is ignition on or off? If on what's the use of first 3sec ignition on and off?
So after flashing with jm garage flasher I read that you should resync ews with dme how is that to be done by pa soft 1.4 bmw scanner and is it possible to do reset adaptation ews and dme then car will start as ews is off on dme ?

I have the gelleto cable and never could write to the ecu on my audis that have the same ecu, thanksletting me know about putting the ecu in boot mode just bought a 525 touring and want to tweek the red line in the final gear
im able to read and write successfully . when i set the forced obd readiness configuration the only readiness monitor that sets is the sap. do i have to flash the eu4 to dme to get it to work and set the rest of the monitors?

Just one question. So you just answered a question in your video that has been causing me problems with passing emissions. You said if I’m running catless headers then the check engine light will be disabled . That’s the problem I am in rn with emissions . I can not pass due to my check engine light not coming on when I turn the key to the on position ( which is required in Arizona to pass). So is there anyway to just re-enable the check engine light to come back on in the tune but only change that. And keep the rest of the tune . Because right now I am not throwing any codes but if I re enable the check engine light will it throw codes ?

Have a doubt, got a 2002 330i m54b30, and a spare ms43 from a 320 m54b22, dont want to mess with my original ecu, if i do the tune on this spare ms43 will it work on my b30? What about ews, keys, and all that? Never done tuning before!

I've scanned by pa soft 1.4 ? I got fixed key code and random key code flashing in green but I got the random key code status is giving wrong random status so this flashing will not fix this problem so the ews is still active not off ? How can I fix that problem the key should be active in that way and ews is on ??
pro tip, ms4X flasher is now available for free...so no need for gellato or whatever it was called since finding a proper version seemed sus af. ms4x flasher is right on the ms4x wiki page btw

I've been at it for a few hours on my Australian 2004 bmw e46 330i m54b30 ms43 the tuning file wouldn't start my car.
I put the original file back on and still no start all connections are secure and correct
Edit- I fixed the issue I just managed to find a different file to start with my car and also no limpmode.
Correct the checksum
Do you only need to apply ground once at the beginning or also when you write the new file back?

P.S. Where can I find stock files for M52 engines?

You and the MS43 Devs are absolute bad ass's!!! ... Much much love from the UK ... got my partial out of gellato had to hack the .exe via information gained from Mprog and use latency of 10 worked perfect first time.. and previously made a backed up my original boot mode flash using your method where other methods i found failed.. ::::DD ... any idea how we can tune the E46 for cackle and burble using the Exhaust flap settings I could send you a reward

i have an already mapped dme with many changes came on my car (remap, crackle map,icv delete, e thermostat mod, raised limiter, vss limiter delete, secondary o2 delete.), i am now swapping into new chassis so will need to disable ews. Is it possible to keep my tune and just remove ews?

so i have watched your video and a few others and when it comes to spoofing galletto im having an issue whenever i put in the serial number from hxd and try to run galletto i get a not a win32 application and it wont launch
Is there a way to tune the ecu without an ews delete? What about if you´d only download the smaller bin ; modify it and upload it again?
Just did adaptation ews dme on pa soft 1.4 and the dme vin number changed and it's said adaption done and car wouldn't start :( no reply ?
This is probably a needle in a haystack kinda thing but i really need help atm soo i followed everything you did in the video but galletto because its no longer supported everything went fine until i tuned the car off and tried to turn it back on after writing the dme with new loggers the car cranks but wont fire up tried to return it back to the stock tune but still proceeds to crank but not start so thats where im lost lol the dme still connects and reads and writes but apon trying to start the car it wont start it. is my dme "Bricked" REALLY could use some help if you have the spare time. nice video thank you man :(

If I understand correctly, if O2 sensors on an e46 325i are bad I can just disable them and the engine will run (at least semi normally), the same goes for aftermarket headers with no cats?
Bad information: Done use application tools / calibration tools to "solve" failures. If anything is broken, exchange it with a high quality spare part.
I have a tune already but I didn't get it with a launch control . If I boot my ecu will it erase my tune ?

Where is the write up of spoofing the cable in galletto?
Im using a bench flashing setup, when i click connect, it always says "Boot Mode not active, or wire connection issue". I can hear the ecu making a very small sound like its recieving power. The way im grounding pin 104 is a with a thick needle and a wire running to my negative on my 12V power source (1 9v and 3 AA taped together, reads, 11.8v). I downloaded a windows based obd2 scanner to see if it would work, and it also says failed. if anyone mihgt know what my problems is, please help

+Alex Nesta Swapping to MS43 is by far the easiest option and its not that easy. Search E46Fanatics for more info.
Basically you need an MS43, old style 3-wire MAF, narrow-band O2 sensors, MS43 Engine harness, and re-pin the coil harness + alternator harness will be nessisary.

Awesomesuace21 I got a 328i e36, you could buy a tuned ECU and just plug it into your car, prosport coilovers are cheap and very good you can have someone do it for you, put in angel eyes to make it look better if you want to, and so on

I have an engine swap that I did for a 2002 330i with 2003 330ci motor, would I also have to transfer the 2003 DME, key cylinder, and EWS sensor into my current car? Or could I just reprogram the 2002 330i DME using to this motor? Or if I swapped those parts, could I rewrite the VIN of the 2003 DME to match the car? They use the same MS43 DME units, just a different index of 08 and 06. Please respond, it will help me finish my car soon 🙏🏼
