Hell yeah for the this, Lon. I know it won't perform as well as some of your other content, but I love the gaming content and hope you keep doing it. I always appreciate this type of content from you. I will say that this unit is pretty expensive, but if it's well made it could be worth it... a lot of the cheap arcade sticks break very quickly and you kinda know that going into buying one.
It's pricey but I bet it really holds up long term. I like the physical selector to set the control type. It's hard to remember the secret key combo to switch modes on other controllers. If they support firmware updates for future proofing it could be a really sweet controller for years to come. I wonder if there might even be enough room to put a RPI in there for an all in one box? That would rock.
Nice review Lon! I bought an F500 years ago and put a Brook board in it to get real low latency to play on the MisterFPGA. Also got some custom artwork for it to look like a Sega Astro City Control panel and even added green Sanwa buttons and ball top. You should definitely consider customizing it!
I love this. Major NES Advantage vibes. I'm glad to see it works so well with the MiSTer. I'm guessing that means it'd be a good match with the Analogue Pocket as well. :)
2:26 There are custom arcade decks that have stick modules with a gate switcher (ex. The Ultimarc ServoStik) but I have personally never seen it in just a stick. The mechanism may be a bit much to put into one.
I bought the Mayflash F500 Elite a couple of years ago and it was well worth the price. Looks like they replaced the jack that was used for the vibrating wrist strap on the F500 with a headphone jack. Seems they also made it easier to replace the panel overlay with custom artwork than it was on the F500.
@@kumarp3074 the connect was weird you had to connect it to a ps4 controller for wireless connection, i bought the lower model but sold it right away, i didnt like the connection and there was a bit of lag when i played streetfighter, but this one i would buy well the elite model
It sounded like the perfect arcade stick for me to use with my PS3-PS5, Switch, WiiU, Analogue Pocket, Win11, Android, Apple, until I heard that it doesn't work with any native PS5 games. Why even have a PS5 selection on the dial when PS4 controllers already work with PS4 games played on the PS5 via backwards compatibility? I was looking at the official Mayflash website and it says these games DO NOT WORK with this control stick: Final Vendetta, Shadow Gangs, Teenage Mutant Turtles - Shredder's revenge, R-Type Final 3, Naruto X, and many more. So this is not a good stick if you are looking to use it with a PS5 system. Instead, I went with a Hori: Fighting Stick Mini for only $45. Sure it's a lot smaller, but the buttons are very responsive, as is the microswitched stick.
I was excited until you mentioned the USB was permanently attached and the door. The two things that break pretty consistently on just about any device.

The F500 was that the one with swana parts joystick and buttons?
@@mikedisher30 Yes the Elite version had Sanwa parts inside.

@@mikedisher30 I bought it mostly for playing emulators on my PC so don't know about how good it was for consoles.
Dam okay I would take that for free, I would and yes a bit jealous but Lon doing an awesome job!! He definitely deserves it 😎👍👍
If you opted for the 2.4 GHz wifi or the BT option does the controller have a battery indicator?
Lol, I see your HD Homerun Prime in the background now!
Yes it is enjoying retirement :)

👍👍👍
I see the winter dry skin has reached you as well, lol.
Maybe a little lotion Lon?
Don't make me use the meme!
All in good fun, I can relate.
It's a battle I don't win until April despite best efforts. But I do get a lot of people telling me to buy hand lotion :)
Arent sanwa parts standard?
They have one with Sanwa parts for more money but not this one.
@@LonSeidmanoh yeah there’s 2 model you can still switch it out for better parts
i wanted to see you do an Electric or a Taunt jet upper in Tekken and some combos 😂
How does it compare to the 8bitdo stick?
It feels similar - I believe Mayflash manufactured the 8bitdo ones.
I have a lot of nostalgia for happ buttons and sticks but it's mostly nostalgia. Japanese/korean buttons are mostly superior for actual gameplay.

The captured USB cable is a massive let down on this thing at that price.
Looks like it is a "Boomer Stick". :)
