I was in the theatre watching Joni Mitchell's 75th birthday celebration. I was enjoying it and then Seal went on stage to sing Both Sides Now. I was so moved with his rendition, his sensitivity and feeling every word just gave me goosebumps. My fave song of the show. He deserved the standing o he got for that performance.
What a wonderful performance! Of all the performances of Joni's songs that evening, this one really stood out for me. Amazing sensitivity for the song. Bravo Seal!
I saw this in the movie theater and couldn’t help but stand and clap. I then self- consciously remembered where I was only to realize that half the audience was doing the same. The sound quality of the video does not do it justice but still I listen to it over and over again. Joni wrote the song and gave it to Seal. What a worthy recipient.
I thought I'd come here whilst my eyes are still moist. It's a musical manifestation of the old adage, "the more you learn the less you know". The taste of my tears are bittersweet. Having listened to this song since I was in my single digits. Singing it in a boy's soprano to hearing Seal's approvable rendition. It somehow adds up to a sweet 61, absent the bitters. Are you sure it isn't 16, now that I'm "free from the devil's bargain." Only Jesus holds the keys. Green pastures, and still waters.
I had the good luck to view Joni 75 on a big screen during the one night only premiere. The musical tributes were outstanding, but for me, it was Seal's rendition of Joni's "Both Sides Now" that transfixed me to the point that I clapped out loud after his performance. I didn't care if I was the only one who cheered, and people turned to see me. Then, after seeing the video of this evening on PBS twice here in Vancouver, Canada, Seal's stunning delivery brought me to tears. Tears of regret, or perhaps tears of joy for realizing the power, beauty and truth of Joni's words, I thank both of these gifted artists for the beauty they have brought into my life!

They had it a hit with it and Joni thanked them in Person for bringing the song to success.
I've always enjoyed listening to Seal sing, he is my all-time favorite with his amazing voice! And this is a beautiful rendition of one of my favorite Joni Mitchell songs! God Bless You Seal! xoxoxo

Joni wrote a lot of amazing music and so many beautiful songs and poetry...gee... it's so difficult, sometimes, to pick one up from her vast and brilliant repertoire... but then... I listen to this song... and everytime the search seems to be magically over... This song is "something else", really, do you agree all you folks? Something else... I was in my teens when listened for the first time to the Blue album, still have my original 33 LP copy in a plastic sleeve, to be protected... that moment, that day, music changed in my heart, forever. Thank you dear Joni, thank you for all the beauty you put in my life. I love you.
