Before I heard this song when it came out, I was sick with suicidal thoughts. I was laying down and I saw Jason Mraz posted a new song. I listened to it and asked my parents to stuff with me for the first time in around 2 years. I got right on my feet and finally did something useful with my life. You know what I did? I went right outside on my bike to my friends houses who live near me, and I took them to an ice cream store down the street. That moment was the first time I felt that I had something useful in my life. I stand here now laughing every day and smiling. My parents are so happy that I didn’t end up killing myself and did something with my life. For those who don’t know who they are and what meaning they have in this planet or in life, this song is for you. ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for saving me Jason. Namaste Sarah, depression is a very challenging emotion as you well know. If you would like to use this song to lift yourself completely out of that state, might I suggest looking into a mirror and directing the feeling-tone of each statement to the person reflected. If that's too hard, just imagine the reflection is a different being. Do this over and over. Listen to the song while walking down the street and direct the feeling-tone of each stanza to any living being you see: people, animals, plants, and even insects. There is likely someone you love and respect, so start with them to warm the heart. Can you wish that someone you love and respect that the always be treated as an esteemed guest? After warming up with a loved one - whether you presently feel they love you or not - then start to move on to others. In this way, your world will continuously brighten until the depression becomes a distant memory. I'm not asking you to take my word for it, just try it for a week and see for yourself.
this was my middle school in the video, i was one of the students that participated in this and i have to say this was an experience i’ll never forget. i was an 8th grader at the time. jason is such a sweet person and this song will always have a special place in my heart.

Darn it, Here I am again after 4 months since my last posting, but am compelled to reiterate to Jason's community (and Mr. M. himself should he ever have the time to imbibe what his grateful fans might want to say). At the age of 73 and having watched literally hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of videos -- and having my fav gals & guys -- "Have It All" is at the top of all those video productions. So much JOY. There is not a moment, in all my many viewings of the video, that I don't get up and dance around my painter's studio even when I am plugging away at whatever is on the easel. SO grateful to have this man and all his artistry. As I'm sure all would agree it's beautiful to have Mr. Mraz -- tangentially -- in our lives.

As I write this now, at 10:42 pm on October the 20th 2021, I just recently learned that my grandfather had died earlier today .Around 4pm, when I got home from school, I looked up this song after I had heard on the bus radio, and wanted to listen on TH-cam. I really enjoyed it. A few hours later, I got the bad news, and now, I'm coming back to it to cheer me up and leave a record of the optimism this song carries. I was listening to a random song on spotify yesterday and when it ended, spotify continued with this song. When I have heard « I’m yours » on the radio for the first time, I was going through another very difficult time in my life. My dad died unexpectedly from cancer. It was so quick. We never had time to say goodbye. I always think this song is all the things he would have said to me if he had known how soon he would be gone. ❤
My Dad died almost a year ago too from pancreatic cancer. We only found out one month before he died. I was thankfully with him the last 2 1/2 weeks before he took his last breath. It honestly traumatized me like you wouldn’t believe. Your Dad knows you love him and knows you said goodbye in your own way. I am keeping you in my prayers. May our Lord give you strength as he has for my family and I. I’m so so sorry for your loss I know it’s so hard. He will always be with you. ❤️🙏🏻

Sang this at my Elementary School graduation. And now while im kinda depresed to the pain filled 2020 as a 13 year old in 8th grade, this comes into my mind and i thank myself for thinking of this because it has really helped me mentally.
Have It All... Hi, Jason. I am writing this to let you know what a huge impact this song has had on our family. When our daughter, Sarah Kate was born, a few hours later we found out she had a congenital heart defect and would need to undergo a series of open heart surgeries. Between birth and her 5th birthday, she had 6 heart surgeries. That was from 2004-2009. Fast forward to 2023 and she is a senior in high school, a straight A student, the kindest person I’ve ever known and a true beauty from the inside out. She overcame all the odds and is about to graduate high school and start college in the Fall. She is the last of our 4 children and for every child, I have dedicated a song to them for their senior year that is meaningful based on their personality, their journey and their life. For Sarah, I was worried nothing would have the meaning we needed for her special journey. Boy, was I wrong! The first time I heard “Have It All”, I was actually standing in line at a Walgreens waiting for a prescription for her and I immediately grabbed my phone to shazam it so I could listen to it again as the short amount I heard was perfect. I want to describe what some of these lyrics meant to me and to Sarah Kate.... Sarah has struggled with confidence and yet has always strived to do her best in any thing she takes on. Shopping for clothing has always been hard because she is self-conscious about her scars on her chest. So when I heard: “May you have the confidence to always do your best”, it hit home. We were told she may have trouble in school due to a lack of oxygen at birth and yet, she has soared and done so amazing in all of her classes. Last week, we went to Las Vegas for her last Spring Break and she was feeding the homeless and had such a heart for those less fortunate. She always finds the new kids who show up at her school and befriends them immediately. So when I heard “May you take no effort in your being generous, Sharing what you can, nothing more nothing less”, again, that really struck a chord with me in describing her. Of course, I tell her all the time that her heart is special and she should always follow it to find happiness. So when you sang “May you know the meaning of the word happiness, May you always lead from the beating in your chest”, those lyrics could not be more perfect for her. When she was 5, she was granted a wish from the Make a Wish Foundation and chose to go meet the princesses at Disney world. She was treated like absolute royalty which lined up perfectly with “May you be treated like an esteemed guest”. That is one of our most cherished memories. Since she has struggled with this heart condition, she has had trouble with cardio activities her whole life. Even when we go travel, etc., she runs out of breath easily, but she doesn’t ever let it slow her down and I have to remind her to rest. I’m sure you know what’s next...the lyrics “May you get to rest, may you catch your breath” were made for her! Sarah Kate has always chosen the path that not everyone else is on. She marches to the beat of her own drum. She was in choir from 4th grade until 10th grade and came to me after 10th grade and said she felt she wanted to totally change to Theater Technical Production and do hair/makeup for theater instead of finishing her high school career in choir. I helped her understand that this would mean she wouldn’t get a letter jacket, get to go on the senior trip with the choir, and she would have to learn from the bottom and only have 2 years of theater. She said “ok! Let’s do it!” And in true Sarah Kate fashion, she did. She not only got into theater, she because Crew Head within her first year, earned her Thespian designation and is competing at a state level for her work. So of course, I wanted her to take the road she had already paved in choir. She would have been so unhappy. Therefore, I’m glad that she chose the road less paved. Just like the lyric “And may the road less paved be the road that you follow”. I know she is going to change the lives of others. She already has. She has no drama in her life because she cares for others and they see that and return it to her. So the part that says “Here's to the lives that you're gonna change”, I truly feel that describes her future. Sarah Kate is also a “neat freak” and has chosen to clean the pantry, organize the fridge, etc. on school breaks. (I’m such a lucky mom, right!? LOL) This lyric is perfect! “May you keep the chaos and the clutter off your desk, May you have unquestionable health and less stress.” Obviously, we want her to have the best health and no stress! Being an overachiever in school and even crying if she got a 97 on a test instead of a 100, we always say “May you get a gold star on your next test. May your educated guesses always be correct!” I guess the hardest part of this all is that she’s leaving me and going out on her own. I am already sad and she’s not even gone yet, but I want her to have it all. So for me....when you say “Here's to the fact that I'll be sad without you, I want you to have it all”, I truly feel that in my soul. Sarah Kate has such an amazing mindset and stays positive. She radiates positivity to others. She believes if you think it, it can happen! So I push her to imagine the best. She CAN win an Oscar someday for hair and makeup design. So this lyric is just perfect, too! Shocker! “All you can imagine All, no matter what your path is If you believe it then anything can happen” We are throwing a graduation party for her on May 27th and I can’t wait to play this song for her and all of us toast to her and her new adventure and the accomplishment of finishing high school. Go, go, go raise your glasses Go, go, go you can have it all I toast you, Sarah Kate. I don’t know if you will actually be the one to read this and I realize it’s such a long message. I just know if I performed songs, I would love to know how they impacted others. I’m a very lyrical person. I love to hear the actual meaning of songs and this one truly means something to me. Sarah and I both have said we hope to meet you someday to tell you, but since the chances of that are pretty slim, I wanted to send this and share it with you. Thank you, Jason.

Namaste Sarah, depression is a very challenging emotion as you well know. If you would like to use this song to lift yourself completely out of that state, might I suggest looking into a mirror and directing the feeling-tone of each statement to the person reflected. If that's too hard, just imagine the reflection is a different being. Do this over and over. Listen to the song while walking down the street and direct the feeling-tone of each stanza to any living being you see: people, animals, plants, and even insects. There is likely someone you love and respect, so start with them to warm the heart. Can you wish that someone you love and respect that the always be treated as an esteemed guest? After warming up with a loved one - whether you presently feel they love you or not - then start to move on to others. In this way, your world will continuously brighten until the depression becomes a distant memory. I'm not asking you to take my word for it, just try it for a week and see for yourself.

Darn it, Here I am again after 4 months since my last posting, but am compelled to reiterate to Jason's community (and Mr. M. himself should he ever have the time to imbibe what his grateful fans might want to say). At the age of 73 and having watched literally hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of videos -- and having my fav gals & guys -- "Have It All" is at the top of all those video productions. So much JOY. There is not a moment, in all my many viewings of the video, that I don't get up and dance around my painter's studio even when I am plugging away at whatever is on the easel. SO grateful to have this man and all his artistry. As I'm sure all would agree it's beautiful to have Mr. Mraz -- tangentially -- in our lives.

My Dad died almost a year ago too from pancreatic cancer. We only found out one month before he died. I was thankfully with him the last 2 1/2 weeks before he took his last breath. Sang this at my Elementary School graduation. And now while im kinda depresed to the pain filled 2020 as a 13 year old in 8th grade, this comes into my mind and i thank myself for thinking of this because it has really helped me mentally.

Have It All...
Hi, Jason.
I am writing this to let you know what a huge impact this song has had on our family. When our daughter, Sarah Kate was born, a few hours later we found out she had a congenital heart defect and would need to undergo a series of open heart surgeries. Between birth and her 5th birthday, she had 6 heart surgeries. That was from 2004-2009.
Fast forward to 2023 and she is a senior in high school, a straight A student, the kindest person I’ve ever known and a true beauty from the inside out. She overcame all the odds and is about to graduate high school and start college in the Fall.
She is the last of our 4 children and for every child, I have dedicated a song to them for their senior year that is meaningful based on their personality, their journey and their life. For Sarah, I was worried nothing would have the meaning we needed for her special journey. Boy, was I wrong! The first time I heard “Have It All”, I was actually standing in line at a Walgreens waiting for a prescription for her and I immediately grabbed my phone to shazam it so I could listen to it again as the short amount I heard was perfect.
I want to describe what some of these lyrics meant to me and to Sarah Kate....
Sarah has struggled with confidence and yet has always strived to do her best in any thing she takes on. Shopping for clothing has always been hard because she is self-conscious about her scars on her chest.
So when I heard: “May you have the confidence to always do your best”, it hit home. We were told she may have trouble in school due to a lack of oxygen at birth and yet, she has soared and done so amazing in all of her classes.
Last week, we went to Las Vegas for her last Spring Break and she was feeding the homeless and had such a heart for those less fortunate. She always finds the new kids who show up at her school and befriends them immediately. So when I heard “May you take no effort in your being generous, Sharing what you can, nothing more nothing less”, again, that really struck a chord with me in describing her.
Of course, I tell her all the time that her heart is special and she should always follow it to find happiness. So when you sang “May you know the meaning of the word happiness, May you always lead from the beating in your chest”, those lyrics could not be more perfect for her.
When she was 5, she was granted a wish from the Make a Wish Foundation and chose to go meet the princesses at Disney world. She was treated like absolute royalty which lined up perfectly with “May you be treated like an esteemed guest”. That is one of our most cherished memories.
Since she has struggled with this heart condition, she has had trouble with cardio activities her whole life. Even when we go travel, etc., she runs out of breath easily, but she doesn’t ever let it slow her down and I have to remind her to rest. I’m sure you know what’s next...the lyrics “May you get to rest, may you catch your breath” were made for her!
Sarah Kate has always chosen the path that not everyone else is on. She marches to the beat of her own drum. She was in choir from 4th grade until 10th grade and came to me after 10th grade and said she felt she wanted to totally change to Theater Technical Production and do hair/makeup for theater instead of finishing her high school career in choir. I helped her understand that this would mean she wouldn’t get a letter jacket, get to go on the senior trip with the choir, and she would have to learn from the bottom and only have 2 years of theater. She said “ok! Let’s do it!” And in true Sarah Kate fashion, she did. She not only got into theater, she because Crew Head within her first year, earned her Thespian designation and is competing at a state level for her work. So of course, I wanted her to take the road she had already paved in choir. She would have been so unhappy. Therefore, I’m glad that she chose the road less paved. Just like the lyric “And may the road less paved be the road that you follow”.
I know she is going to change the lives of others. She already has. She has no drama in her life because she cares for others and they see that and return it to her. So the part that says “Here's to the lives that you're gonna change”, I truly feel that describes her future.
Sarah Kate is also a “neat freak” and has chosen to clean the pantry, organize the fridge, etc. on school breaks. (I’m such a lucky mom, right!? LOL) This lyric is perfect! “May you keep the chaos and the clutter off your desk, May you have unquestionable health and less stress.” Obviously, we want her to have the best health and no stress!
Being an overachiever in school and even crying if she got a 97 on a test instead of a 100, we always say “May you get a gold star on your next test. May your educated guesses always be correct!”
I guess the hardest part of this all is that she’s leaving me and going out on her own. I am already sad and she’s not even gone yet, but I want her to have it all.
So for me....when you say “Here's to the fact that I'll be sad without you, I want you to have it all”, I truly feel that in my soul.
Sarah Kate has such an amazing mindset and stays positive. She radiates positivity to others. She believes if you think it, it can happen! So I push her to imagine the best. She CAN win an Oscar someday for hair and makeup design. So this lyric is just perfect, too! Shocker!

We are throwing a graduation party for her on May 27th and I can’t wait to play this song for her and all of us toast to her and her new adventure and the accomplishment of finishing high school.

I don’t know if you will actually be the one to read this and I realize it’s such a long message. I just know if I performed songs, I would love to know how they impacted others. I’m a very lyrical person. I love to hear the actual meaning of songs and this one truly means something to me. Thank you for making it. Thank you for being positive and upbeat and sharing that with the world.
Sarah and I both have said we hope to meet you someday to tell you, but since the chances of that are pretty slim, I wanted to send this and share it with you.
