People also forget, that poor train driver
💯
No.1. Put brake on immediately - stay in middle of platform and make sure kids are strapped in. No. 2. Park parallel to track, not facing it ! Please take these basic steps to ensure the safety of children on Railway stations. This was a tragedy which should not have happened, with two adults present?! It was a very windy day which added to the situation. Horribly sad.
Plus , if he wasn’t looking the móvil phone ! Negligence!
My condolences to the family.
And also to the train driver, going to need lot's of counselling there, I think .
Im so sorry. Oh my 😢
So so sad . RIP😢
My condolences to mother
Very sad for driver.😢😢😢
Prays for the mother and other child.
I don't think that would help
Don’t forget the Dad.

Sadly, accidents can happen in an instant. Sometimes it's just luck that helps us avoid disaster. Condolences to all involved in this sad situation.
Incidences, an accident implies noone is to blame.
@@stankj011 no one is to blame.
@@marissa5664 yes the parents who were meant to be watching them. Why you think they not to blame?
@@stankj011calling it an accident doesn't necessarily imply nobody is to blame or at fault. An accident by definition means it's unintentional. You can have a car accident and someone is to blame.
@@marissa5664 latest news is that pram was left unattended.... yeah keep saying it is a normal random event
The events at Carlton Station involving the express train are profoundly tragic and deeply saddening. My heart goes out to the mother who arrived here in October with her husband, both seeking a better life, only to have her world shattered in such a horrific manner. To have one twin survive while the other perished, all because of the abrupt cessation of the train, is truly devastating. The community here feels the immense sorrow of this heartbreaking incident, and my thoughts are with all those affected during this grievous time.
And here, I'm waiting 30 to 40 minutes for my train to arrive. This train here instantly rolls up. It's almost like Final Destination vibes.
Heart breaking……I can’t even imagine 😢😢🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Some really awful comments on here!! I can’t begin to imagine what that poor mother is going through 😔
typical internet freaks. one day they'll learn
How did a pram roll off a flat platform
It's unfortunate that many NSW train line stations are designed with a slant, where the highest point is in the middle and slopes down towards the edges. This design can create hazards, particularly when coupled with windy conditions. Ensuring safety at these stations should be a priority, with measures like improved barriers and other enhancements to prevent tragic incidents like the recent one.
He was on the phone and hands free. What do you expect otherwise
@@johannsebastienbach who said he was on the phone, we don’t know ANYTHING. that is a theory. we should not be speculating nor judging the actions of this man instead grieve and support the mother who is carrying the only child left traumatised for life directly from carnage. there is no one to blame, utter tragedy..
Cctv of the station will show, why are they taking so long to release to the media maybe it will show parents are negligent @@johannsebastienbach
Pram Should have auto brakes, Eg let go of pram and it stops
How sad. Traumatic for so many people. That second child was so lucky. And the poor train driver. Trains can't just stop suddenly. And if it was an express it would be even worse.
it was an express train, no stops, flying through the T4 cronulla line to the city but tragically stopping at carlton at speeds up to 80 km/h, absolutely unfathomable and tragic beyond words.
Carlton station has multiple deaths.
Stop using your phone . Why was he using the phone while pushing the pram at the same time ? Sorry you have to be very careful . They think it’s like being in India .
@@soneelita who said they were using their phone? NO one said he was on his phone. why speculate on a dead man’s life? sad.
How is another twin daughter and mother
Why is the father being called a hero when if he was watching the pram this wouldn't have happened?
Yes, you're exactly right.
Condolences to the mother and baby 🙏💐 and to all police officers, Train driver, spectators ambulance service on a sad accident at Train station, though and prayers and support for mother, daughter , including extending families surrounded around mother and daughter in hospital and every others whom helped at Train station.❤❤❤♥️🙏💐
So very sad. There should be more safety in place in 2024. It's not the first time. So sad for all and uneccesary loss.
What’s wrong with the people in the comment section? They obviously have never been parents or they would not dismiss this brave dad so easily. Even the best of parents know that tragedies like this can happen to them in spite of their best intentions for their children.
@@GaboH-h7s nobody is perfect , anybody can have a momentary slip
@user-ci8ep4rw8r temporary isn't for the mother and surviving daughter. This isn't a hero this is dad that fxcked up and and his daughter paid the ultimate price aswell as himself.
@@GaboH-h7s yes sweetheart, even pilots make mistakes, that’s why there is always a co pilot and there is no question that the father was a brave and loving dad who jumped in front of a train to save his girls
The image of the pram falling onto the tracks, witnessed by the devastated mother, is truly heartbreaking. To think that her child and husband are now gone is unimaginable. The surviving baby, who will grow up without a sister and father, will one day come to understand this profound loss that has forever altered their family's life. This tragedy underscores the critical need for immediate safety improvements at stations. Effective measures, such as installing robust barriers between platforms and tracks, are essential to prevent such accidents in the future. Discussions about enhancing safety have been ongoing, yet tangible actions remain elusive. The community's plea for decisive action is urgent and clear. Authorities must prioritise implementing these safety measures without delay. The grief of the mother and the future challenges of the surviving child serve as poignant reminders of the human cost when safety is compromised..
Looking at their ethnicity.. I’m not surprised at all
It's 2024 and many of the railway plateforms across the nation look like it's from the 80s, no protective barriers along the edges. Is it to preserve the herritage sites or is it that tax money had gone into the wrong "spots"
I believe the term "personal responsibility" as well as "common sense" are no longer fashionable....
Yeah, we should all be in bubble wraps. Everyone will agree.
maybe build and set the platform with an angle tilt back away from train ...just a thought
Every pram has a wheel lock . It keeps the pram from going anywhere . Maybe you need to start using your brain . Just a thought .
You’ll flood the platform.
Or people just need to realise that when they are on a platform, that they have to be vigilant.
Why they making the dad out as a hero?

These accidents really shouldnt be happening, its as simple as slanting the concrete platform. How tragic.
I think the tread close to tracks is barrier of sorts but if the pram had gathered speed its probable useless
@@grahamwilson1358 the plastic dots next to the edge of the platforms are for blind people I'm pretty sure.

Where you have to scan your rail card to travel is on the platform and it’s a seperate card per person. The machines are outside the lifts on the platform but the distance between the machine and the platform edge is measured in feet. Also, the platform is outside exposed to the elements so to enable rain water to run off the platforms are sloped towards the track. No doubt the mother was scanning the cards while the husband had the pram but he may have let go of the pram to say put his rail card back in his wallet and at that instant a gust of wind was strong enough to cause the pram to roll. It was literally a split second accident just as the train came through. A few more seconds and after he had jumped on the tracked he could have moved the pram and himself to safety.
@@catdoganddramaqueen8487 you're wrong about the card theory. It's now been revealed exactly what happened, they used the lift and when they got out of the lift the mother let go of the pram and the wind blew it away. So there was no reason for a hand to not be on that pram. I'm sick of these idiot parents not being held accountable.
(Edit- I deleted my other comments in light of this new information)
@@catdoganddramaqueen8487 you're wrong. The parents used the lift and when they got off the lift the mother let go of the pram and wind blew the pram away. They had already done the cards previous to that.

The pram rolled onto the tracks while an express train was approaching, are you expecting bystanders to sacrifice their lives for someone else's children? Would you jump onto the tracks with an incoming train hurtling toward you?
