Steel BBs are around 4.4mm diameter, whereas pellets are around 4.5mm. I have tried 4.5mm lead balls (H&N sell lead ball ammo in multiple diameters) in BB gun (smooth bore) barrels. Accuracy was much better than with steel BBs and lead pellets, and muzzle energy was also at least 20% higher, probably due to their tighter fit in the barrel (less blow-by) and the fact that heavier projectiles, while slower than light BBs, exploit the available gas pressure more efficiently.

Just wanted to tell you, in case you're unaware, that ASG Blaster makes, what is essentially, a .177 caliber plastic airsoft bb. They only weigh .17 g and fly out of a gun like this or the Colt Python that Umarex makes. They are a little pricey and were once only sold in the UK, but now they are on Amazon. I shoot them all the time and they can be reused. I typically set up a line of ten of those little Dixie Cups that you drink mouth wash from and shoot them down at 8 or 9 yards. Because they have so little mass, the pellets won't penetrate a light fleece blanket used as a back stop, in spite of screaming out of the gun. Form up the bottom of the blanket into a funnel shape and they drop into a cardboard box to be reused. This can be done right inside the living room or rec room with little risk of damage, even if a bad miss caused a ricochet. It's action shooting at its best with no mess to deal with. You should try it. Set up two rows of cups and lend a buddy a one of these inexpensive guns and you've got a real shootin' match to see who clears the most cups fastest with one cylinder of BBs.

Hey man I’m gonna buy those pellet magazines is the one that go into colt python umarex I can’t be sure I found some on amazons they look identical but can’t tell if they are

Does anyone know where the metal 10 round magazines for this pistol (I actually want them for the Colt Python) can be purchased. The 2020 link above shows that product as not available.

The gun is doing good still, but I only shoot it occasionally as I have a lot of guns to shoot and not a lot of time for shooting. Also, I've always used a drop of lube on the top of co2 cartridge on all my co2 airguns. Not sure if that would have totally helped your gun, but it's a habit I've always kept.
Greetings from Argentina. I like the BRODAX; it´s more than accurate being a BBs revolver (which is not little thing to say ...). But, one important detail: according to what I know, it´s not a good idea shooting BBs thru a rifled barrel (most certainly will damage the barrel); and/or shooting pellets thru a smooth barrel (accuracy loss). Will buy it next week and tell you my experience ...!
Greetings! Yes, I found it to be very accurate with BBs, and of course not so much with pellets with the smooth bore. I always like to give it a try and see how well they 'might' work out. Good luck with yours when you get it!
With rifled barrel it would be OK smooth barrel threw me off,I have plenty of BBs pistols and rifles.Favourite budget revolver has to be Vigilante, accurate, powerful and rifled, takes pellets with offer of 6 shots BBs which I don’t use..My goal to collect is Remington 1875 but bloody expensive and in general hobbies are expensive..Well I hope you all have fun…
Yes as long as you use the metal Colt Rotary Pellet Magazines. Now that said, I don't actually recommend doing it as I found pellets performed poorly (relatively speaking) out of the smooth bore barrel.
Yes, (so far in mine and others experience) as long as you use the metal (Python) mags. The only concern is shooting pellets down a smooth bore, and of course it's not advertised or recommended. I've not had any issues with it other than it's more expensive ammo, and not as accurate as I'd have hoped.
Every one commenting on here should look in to the black ops exterminator it has sheels that you pit the bbs and pellets in absolutely love that gun so accurate and realistic
Yes, sort of. The plastic OEM mags holes will be a bit undersized to hold the smaller (than pellet dia) bb's, so if you slowly/gently filed or sanded (I'm not recommending, just saying) them open just enough to hold a pellet snug, it should work. But that will make the holes oversized for bb use, so keep that in mind and try to get some spares. Again, not recommending or promising it will work. Ymmv as always.
None, as this would not be an effective or recommended hd method, unless just seeing it might deter some. That said however, bbs would typically penetrate deeper in many mediums.
Pyramyd Air has them listed as BB mags for Colt Python but in description says also for Brodax: www.pyramydair.com/product/colt-rotary-bb-magazines-fit-357-python-co2-pellet-bb-revolvers-3pk?a=5573
I remember that movie (VHS last I saw it) and yes I can see the resemblance. It also reminds me of the Blaster pistol used by Harrison Ford in the movie Blade Runner.
My understanding is yes, basically the same. I read somewhere that the "Tornado" version/name was released in the UK, and the "Brodax" version/name was released in the USA and Canada.

Maybe, but not humanely. If you are going to kill something with an airgun, at least be considerate and smart enough to get the right power level to kill humanely. If you think "it's fun" to try to kill a nest full of birds with an under powered air pistol, maybe you shouldn't have one at all?

I haven't found a rifled barrel available for it.
Any recommendations for the metal colt umarex rotary mags for pellets (Canada)?
Seems Pyramyd Air doesn't ship airguns to Canada, but I thought they shipped parts? But I guess I don't really know.
Otherwise try Umarex directly? That's all I can think of...
Hey man I’m gonna buy those pellet magazines is the one that go into colt python umarex I can’t be sure I found some on amazons they look identical but can’t tell if they are
Best you can do is check out any reviews for clues and try make an educated guess. Only real way to find out is to take a chance and order them. 'Shake them dice' I guess.
Does anyone know where the metal 10 round magazines for this pistol (I actually want them for the Colt Python) can be purchased. The 2020 link above shows that product as not available.
Wow they are hard to find now. I found these in a search, but no idea if the store is legit: www.airgunon.shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=4094 Otherwise, I have no idea where to get them now, sorry.
@@VipersVideos any differences between the two mags?
@@stonesbouldersbones plastic oem (comes with it) one holds bbs, the metal (hard to find now) one hold pellets.
Basically metal/pellet one has little larger dia holes for pellets.
@@VipersVideos I figured it out. Drill to 11/64, use umarex pointed pellets 7.2gr and it works smoothly. The pellets are about 1" less accurate for every 5 yards you go vs the bb's
@@VipersVideos basically for $35 you can make a 10 shot 400fps+ revolver, America is cool
This video is from 2 years. How is you gun doing? My won't fit the CO2 anymore and my cartridge gets wasted. I used it but didn't use the lubricant because I really had no knowledge of how to operate it.
How is it
With rifled barrel it would be OK smooth barrel threw me off,I have plenty of BBs pistols and rifles.Favourite budget revolver has to be Vigilante, accurate, powerful and rifled, takes pellets with offer of 6 shots BBs which I don’t use..My goal to collect is Remington 1875 but bloody expensive and in general hobbies are expensive..Well I hope you all have fun…
You can actually use pellets with this gun?
Yes as long as you use the metal Colt Rotary Pellet Magazines. Now that said, I don't actually recommend doing it as I found pellets performed poorly (relatively speaking) out of the smooth bore barrel.
Can you use airsoft bbs in it if it is the right size?
I don't know what size airsoft bbs are. But the steel bbs and pellets it shoots are supposedly 4.5mm or .177 cal, if that helps.
@@VipersVideos ok thank you
@@tommyboy1234 You're welcome, wish i knew...
No.
So even though this isn't advertised as being able to shoot _pellets,_ it does without issues?
Yes, (so far in mine and others experience) as long as you use the metal (Python) mags. The only concern is shooting pellets down a smooth bore, and of course it's not advertised or recommended. I've not had any issues with it other than it's more expensive ammo, and not as accurate as I'd have hoped.
Every one commenting on here should look in to the black ops exterminator it has sheels that you pit the bbs and pellets in absolutely love that gun so accurate and realistic
Hey there !
there's a point on the Hammer file it off and you'll use 100% of the co2
and get extra Power.
Cool tip, thanks!
Thanks I’ll do that
I don't see it
How the heck do you load the pellets? I have .177 brodax and .177 pellets but have no clue how it goes into the magazine
You need to find/use Umarex Python metal magazines. Hard to find nowadays. I got these 3 years ago.
I just got one and I can’t find the python pellet magazines coul I just slap pellets into the standard plastic ones that come with it stock?
Yes, sort of. The plastic OEM mags holes will be a bit undersized to hold the smaller (than pellet dia) bb's, so if you slowly/gently filed or sanded (I'm not recommending, just saying) them open just enough to hold a pellet snug, it should work. But that will make the holes oversized for bb use, so keep that in mind and try to get some spares. Again, not recommending or promising it will work. Ymmv as always.
Where did you find the scope?
Amazon. I put a link in the description.
Is it double action?
It is both single and double action.
What Co2 Cartage size suits this gun please?
12 gram Co2 cartridge. Installs in the grip frame under the grip panel.
In terms of home defense which is better with this gun, pellets or bbs?
None, as this would not be an effective or recommended hd method, unless just seeing it might deter some.
That said however, bbs would typically penetrate deeper in many mediums.
How to repair c02 leak?
Try some pellgunoil or use it when replacing c02 cartridges to keep seals in good shape also never overtighten co2 when replacing cartridge.
Also check for dirt and debris around seal
Thanks for the review I’m planning on getting one
Hope you enjoy it!
Where do we find more of the magesins
Pyramyd Air has them listed as BB mags for Colt Python but in description says also for Brodax: www.pyramydair.com/product/colt-rotary-bb-magazines-fit-357-python-co2-pellet-bb-revolvers-3pk?a=5573
Thank you for sharing this!
You're welcome!
It reminds me of the gun from the movie split second with Rutger Hauer. So I just bought one😁
I remember that movie (VHS last I saw it) and yes I can see the resemblance. It also reminds me of the Blaster pistol used by Harrison Ford in the movie Blade Runner.
Is it the same with the umarex tornado?
My understanding is yes, basically the same. I read somewhere that the "Tornado" version/name was released in the UK, and the "Brodax" version/name was released in the USA and Canada.
@@VipersVideos thank you man ,can you send a link ? I can't find the pellets
@@faeenasnikers6123 if you mean the Winchester alloy pellets, I cannot find them anywhere currently. I bought the ones in the video years ago. Is it OK to Use Daisy match grade bbs. Thanks
If they are .177 caliber, then yes absolutely.
If anyone knows is it based on a irl gun
*It’s a clip not a magazine by the way
You might want to mention that to Umarex btw...
It's called rotary magazine..
Sneako spotted in a bb gun review comment section 😂
How do you load the pellets
You purchase these Colt Python Co2 metal rotary magazines and load/push pellets in from the backside: www.pyramydair.com/product/colt-rotary-pellet-magazines-fit-357-python-co2-pellet-bb-revolvers?a=7375
What kind of pellets are those?
5:00
What size rail is this?
It's listed on the Umarex website as picatinny rail. Here's a page on picatinny rail: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picatinny_rail
Is it going to kill a bird, those suckers keep waking me up at 5am😂. I got a nest just by my window, its going be fun😅
Maybe, but not humanely. If you are going to kill something with an airgun, at least be considerate and smart enough to get the right power level to kill humanely.
If you think "it's fun" to try to kill a nest full of birds with an under powered air pistol, maybe you shouldn't have one at all?
It's morons like you that should never own any gun, air or powder powered.. shooting baby birds and their mother in a their nest because their chirping disturbs makes you a disturbed individual to say the least.
@@VipersVideosthese will definitely kill a bird, not that you should...
Can it shoot plastic bb's?
If they are .177 caliber (.170"-.174" actual) then I believe it would be able to. I don't have any experience shooting any so I can't say for sure.

I haven't shot any airguns for so long I have withdrawal symptoms!!
Damn 9 min in, just shoot it yo!
Sorry Danny but I'm an old (fashioned) dude that enjoys sharing and yacking a bit especially when I'm showing something that has been modded or my usage not in stock form. Great thing about YT is you can just move the video position slider to get to whatever you want to see when I'm talking too much. Slow down and enjoy the ride a little, as the destination is not always that satisfying. But still, thanks for watching and commenting yo! :)
@@VipersVideos I wasn't trying to be disrespectful, I just wanted to hear and see it's in action, sorry I was being rude.
@@dannymartinez8314 Okay Time Out! lol ... No apology needed man and I didn't take it as disrespectful. I understood what you meant but in total Viper style I blabbed a big long message back explaining why I blab so much in vids, and then decided to 'jab/jibe' you a bit to add a bit of fun. I didn't mean it to seem rude back either and that's why I put the lame smiley thingy at the end. If you watch enough of my other vids (be warned I blab a lot) you'll see I don't take myself very seriously and just like to have fun making a vid here and there on whatever strikes me, and yes I sometimes over explain things probably because I like information that way, I dunno. But seriously thanks for both comments, and I was young once too and wanted to see more action than just a dude yacking. It's all good man and I'll do my best to get into the action faster in future vids. Just don't quote me on that though!
