sorry guys. i think the reason why you can't choose is you don't want to have either fandom be mad at you. but if you really see & hear both groups without any biases, clearly EXO has way better vocals. for me, the best singer in BTS would be Jungkook. i feel like he has more stable vocals & his tone is also great. but in EXO, ALL of them are great vocalists. the main vocal line alone (Chen-Baekhyun-D.O.) are known as one of the best in kpop. other members regardless of their position can sing great as well. you can check out EXO amazing vocals if you haven't seen it yet. or better yet watch their live performances. their vocals are unreal

I listened to BTS several times over the years and never connected. Don't know why (I don't hate them or their music), I just didn't connect. Last year I found EXO and have been entranced ever since. There is no comparison in vocal ability. The clarity of EXO's vocals is simply incredible and each member has that same incredible ability. They aren't just dancers, or just vocalists, or just visuals. All the members are all-rounders.
This story is really same as mine. I listened to BTS several times cause all of my friends are army. Last year I accidentally got to know EXO and fell in love with their vocals from the first listen. Then I realized I already have some of their songs on my playlist. I listened to those songs everyday without knowing about EXO cause I fell in love with their vocals. EXO vocals are really insane. Not to mention their visuals. That is why they are my one and only favorites in kpop.
I listened to Exo in 2013 without knowing that it was kpop, I tried to follow them but I was very small and did not understand how it worked (everything was in Korean). Then I found bts six years later and I liked them very much, but I met exo again and loved them without recognizing that it had been the first group that had stolen my heart, when I realized it became very tender and funny, they stole my heart two times in 2013 and then 2019, now they are everything to me.🖤
I am sorry but you can compare, Good vocal abilities are not preference, If someone is good vocalist then he/ she is a good vocalist, they work hard for it , trained years to gain those vocal abilities. Vocal tone can be preferable not techniques. EXO don't do falsetto high notes , they have powerful vocals and high techniques , they are extremely skilled as vocalists.
I agree, actually there are a lot of kpop artists who can do high notes.. but the technique and delivery is what makes it different. To be able to still use vibrato while hitting those really high note means quality and controlled vocals. So yes its not matter of perspective.. cause one can always be biased. Regardless of voice tone, its the quality of sound produced with this high notes in this video makes EXO superior.

EXO songs released in 2012 in their debut album are relevant to this day. EVERY EXO ALBUM IS A VISION OF ART THAT YOU CAN LISTEN TO ENDLESSLY. EXO MUSIC IS TIMELESS. The difference is that for EXO it’s effortless. Their vocalists are naturally talented but they’re also properly trained. A singer shouldn’t need to strain to get most of their high notes out. Not only can it sound forced, it’s also not a sustainable way to use your voice over the long haul.
The difference is soooo clear. No shade to BTS, their vocals improved so much over the years but still, they don't know how to properly use their strength. They're straining so much and it's unhealthy. I wish that they get a vocal coach that can teach them the healthy way of singing, they have unique voice taht can be developed. A 2022 BTS is still a no match to a 2012 Exo in terms of vocals. Exo is a powerhouse of vocals ever since their debut so imagine how strong they are today. I fell for BTS initially, as my very first kpop experience, mainly for their music in general, the choreos, their stage presence, etc. I just loved them so much I thought no other group was better than them in any way. But then I started listening to EXO and realized: these were the vocals I had been looking for. Especially after this one song from BTS that I loved so much, Truth Untold, kinda disappointed me when I heard it live. They were clearly struggling somewhat with this accoustic song live. I still love BTS. These guys are great and super talented but EXO is just on a whole other level in terms of vocals, especially their live performances are insane. They often sound better live than on their recordings which is just sick.
CHEN is the best vocalist in kpop industry 🥰 You can prove it yourself. This was said by music critics in Korea. Also, you can see in other youtube videos, and there are many, where Chen takes first place for the best vocals in Kpop.

It's not jus about hitting the notes it's also about the ease, the technique with which they hit the notes, and EXO has the ability to hit such high notes with that ease while using the best technique, you can see the other group also hitting the high notes but with a lot of tension which can be easily spotted in their body postures. Therefore EXO as a group and as soloist will be able to perform longer comfortably!!!! Hands down, EXO wins!!!

I don't think that EXO is bettet in terms of vocals because they sing longer. Baekhyun and Chen trained only 4 months before joining EXO. And even in their rookie days they have amazing vocals already.

I have come to realize that K-pop to me changed, I been listening to K-pop for the past 10 years and I have yet to hear a group with diversity in vocalist besides Exo the talents in that one group is insane. why is the top group in the industry have no vocal range but dominate in albums sales. No, EXO high notes are head voice, compared to BTS who mostly used falsetto for their high notes. By definition, men can’t use chest voice for high notes. But head voice is stronger than falsetto.

I know you try to be nice but BTS vocal is obviously forced and strained...their high notes are all fake voice in the head because their range isn't as wide. EXO high notes are mostly from chest that's why you also said yourself they come with power. of course their head voice falsetto is beautiful too. As a trained singer, I noticed that BTS were able to hit some notes that were higher than EXO’s because they used falsetto. But Chen and Baekhyun (all of EXO, really) use head voice for high notes, which is why it sounds more powerful. For K-pop vocals, EXO and BTOB are at the top of the industry. Forestella is even better vocally, but they aren’t technically K-pop, they’re classical/pop crossover.
Music is not about high notes or Low notes. It is about the music that resonates with the audience. As for the company it is the money the singers bring. I have seen a lot of good musician that got cut because they add not bring revenues to the company. Since you are a trained singer are you a good singer. Are you famous?

you know what sets them apart? is the technique. EXO did their high notes with the ability to be grounded on a chest tone to falsetto. they are stable with less strained high notes. its the vocal technique to not go over and shout the notes but do it the right way. while bts does high notes more on falsetto. in all of that clips all their high notes are done on falsetto. not that its bad but it shows how they lack technique because doing it in falsetto is much easier than doing it how baek did eldorado mix tone high note on G4? not sure. how chen does it with chest to throat mix. or even having stable breath support of DO and suho and chanyeol. its what bts needs improvement. breath support, technique, resonance. all of this plays a part of how exo does it healthily better and effective as singers

I am sorry but you can compare, Good vocal abilities are not preference, If someone is good vocalist then he/ she is a good vocalist, they work hard for it , trained years to gain those vocal abilities. Vocal tone can be preferable not techniques. EXO don't do falsetto high notes , they have powerful vocals and high techniques , they are extremely skilled as vocalists.

I agree, actually there are a lot of kpop artists who can do high notes.. but the technique and delivery is what makes it different. The difference is that for EXO it’s effortless. Their vocalists are naturally talented but they’re also properly trained. A singer shouldn’t need to strain to get most of their high notes out. Not only can it sound forced, it’s also not a sustainable way to use your voice over the long haul.

I fell for BTS initially, as my very first kpop experience, mainly for their music in general, the choreos, their stage presence, etc. I just loved them so much I thought no other group was better than them in any way.
But then I started listening to EXO and realized: these were the vocals I had been looking for. Especially after this one song from BTS that I loved so much, Truth Untold, kinda disappointed me when I heard it live. They were clearly struggling somewhat with this accoustic song live.
I still love BTS. These guys are great and super talented but EXO is just on a whole other level in terms of vocals, especially their live performances are insane. They often sound better live than on their recordings which is just sick.

It's not jus about hitting the notes it's also about the ease, the technique with which they hit the notes, and EXO has the ability to hit such high notes with that ease while using the best technique, you can see the other group also hitting the high notes but with a lot of tension which can be easily spotted in their body postures. As a trained singer, I noticed that BTS were able to hit some notes that were higher than EXO’s because they used falsetto. But Chen and Baekhyun (all of EXO, really) use head voice for high notes, which is why it sounds more powerful. For K-pop vocals, EXO and BTOB are at the top of the industry. Forestella is even better vocally, but they aren’t technically K-pop, they’re classical/pop crossover.
Music is not about high notes or Low notes. It is about the music that resonates with the audience. As for the company it is the money the singers bring. I have seen a lot of good musician that got cut because they add not bring revenues to the company. Since you are a trained singer are you a good singer. Are you famous?

EXO did their high notes with the ability to be grounded on a chest tone to falsetto. they are stable with less strained high notes. its the vocal technique to not go over and shout the notes but do it the right way. while bts does high notes more on falsetto. in all of that clips all their high notes are done on falsetto. not that its bad but it shows how they lack technique because doing it in falsetto is much easier than doing it how baek did eldorado mix tone high note on G4? not sure. how chen does it with chest to throat mix. or even having stable breath support of DO and suho and chanyeol. its what bts needs improvement.
