Hello everyone! It seems that there might be a confusion as to why there are returning artists who were not included in this video. I apologize for the confusion. I wrote in the description box that I adopted the formula of ESC Clarinet Moon in ranking these entries; thus, the entries that you see in the video are STATISTICALLY the best returning entries based on their previous attempt. I’ll just be providing a spreadsheet so that you may have a visualization on how I did the math. Again, big thanks to ESC Clarinet Moon for the formula. Here's the spreadsheet link: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1InkwYkahs2XdBrBSfkfe0Ixts4iYUdKoIkxZRWjCWoA/edit?usp=sharing Cheers!
@@kubamatusek2609 I adopted ESC Clarinet Moon's formula in calculating these. Basically, a win is 100% and last place is 0%, and the remaining entries are fractionally placed in between. His video in the top countries in Junior Eurovision by average results perfectly explains the formula. I highly recommend to check his videos out.
You could also include Helena Paparizou. She firstly participated in 2001, as a part of Antique and then she won in 2005. Edit: ok, I've just read the pinned comment! I got it!😊
This is a very interesting video. Interesting that many of these competed for two different countries. Also funny seeing Peter, Sue and Marc twice. Theyre legends competing 4 times in 4 different languages
Poli did the biggest progress tho considering the difference in competition levels. Top 3 are cases long time ago when there were much less participants and songs were not as different from each other as they're now
It’s just abit of fun but you’d think a formula would put actual winners in the top ten. Carola for Sweden, Helena Paparizou for Greece and Dima Bilan for Russia - all came back for another attempt and won.
Elisabeth Andreassen was in Bobbysocks! ? That means she was my winner twice, since Norway took the first place in my top in both 1985 and 1996. Tamara Todevska was right for coming back since she was my winner in 2019. Hot Eyes were my winners in 1984. Both Poli Genova's songs were my winners.
Based on my calculations, courtesy of the formula made by ESC Clarinet Moon (you can check out his videos for more ESC stats), Kikki ranked 27th. The video only featured the 25 entries so that explains it. 😊
Where is Stella Maesen? She participated with her sisters as Hearts of Soul for the Netherlands in 1970, then for Belgium in Dream Express (for the Flemish television) and then as Stella with Si tu aimes ma musique for Belgium for the French television...
And how about Raphael (Spain 1966 and 1967)? He also improved his place ment in the second year, although it is only a place from difference: In 1966 he ended 7th and in 1967 he ended 6th. Wait I saw him in the spreadsheet as number 67
How is no one commenting that Lys Assia won the 1st Eurovision, so that cant be included as she won the first time, and i feel like the two enteys that combined into La Det Swing could have been combined, as in the didnt need two separate spots on the list
Donny Montell (Lithuania) 14th -> 9th, Monika Lynkte (Lithuania) 18th -> 11th, Marco Mengoni (Italy) 7th ->4th. You could also include Carola, Dima Bilan & Linda Martin who won on their second attempts. Constantinos Christoforou (Cyprus) 9th (solo) -> 6th (as part of One). How did you include Senhit, but not 2 other San Marino artists, Valentina Monetta (14th in SF -> 24th in the final) and Serhat (12th in SF -> 19th in the final). Maybe not as dramatic an improvement, but still they did much better with their subsequent attempts. How you can include Lys Asia, who everyone knows won the first contest, yet exclude these entrants, I don't know.
As the title of the video suggests, I only included the top 25 entries who did better. I know there are A LOT of artists who returned and did better than their previous attempts, 85 entries to be specific, but again, I only made a video specifically highlighting the top 25 entries who statistically did better. You can check out the pinned comment if you want.
Unfortunately, no, since the video only features the 25 entries who statistically did better than their previous attempts. You can, however, check the pinned comment and click the spreadsheet link to see all returning artists who did better in their subsequent attempts.
Pending on how you see the score for CRO99 since they country got a 33% deduction due to male voices on backing tape without male on stage I wonder if Doris really did better???
Sorry but you have not all here. Vicky Leandros 1967 4th and 1972 1st. Carola Häggqvist 1983 3rd 1991 1st. Marion Rung 1962 7th 1973 6th. Fredi 1967 12th 1976 11th. And Lys Assia was 1st 1956..Second time 8th and third time second. So She not be In this list...
@@Wailmur Well, going from NC to 1st is an improvement though. And we know she didn't win in '56 so she must have improved her result when she returned

You can add Vicky Leandros with l'Amour est Bleu in 1967 and Après toi 1972 to your spreadsheet

Interesting how the second attempt more often than not turns more up-beat.
unless you're look at Linda Martin and Monika Lynkte, both sent much slower entries during their second, more successful attempt.

2001 she got 3rd that's why
The transition in Sebnem Paker, Doris Dragovic, and Tamara Todevska's parts are so good
I love Şebnem Paker’s entries so much. Both are genuinely fantastic songs.
If they're still alive, what's left of Peter, Sue and Marc should be internally selected for Switzerland one year as a tribute!
Jahn teigen is dead
With Eurovision heading to Switzerland next year, I can confirm all of them are still alive.
This is a very interesting video. Interesting that many of these competed for two different countries. Also funny seeing Peter, Sue and Marc twice. Theyre legends competing 4 times in 4 different languages
The amount of control in Mia Martini's voice between her two entries is like night and day
Anna Vissi was also 9th Place 2006 in Athens
Yeah, but that's the other way around. She finished 5th for CYP in 1982. But if you're only talking GRE, then that counts.
Where’s Linda Martin, Vicky Leandros and Dima Bilan? All winners.
They got 2nd 4th and 2nd respectively while #1 in the list got 17th on apptmpt 1 and 1st on take 2
Super video!! Can you make a video for those who did worse?
That transition from Trödler und Co. to Io senza te is funny yet epic!
Poli did the biggest progress tho considering the difference in competition levels. Top 3 are cases long time ago when there were much less participants and songs were not as different from each other as they're now
Linda Martin could have been on the list too
Yeah but she only moved up 1 spot, but to be fair that 1 spot did give her the win😅
🇨🇾 What a beautiful video! ❤ Thank you! 🙏🏻
Katja Ebstein is missing in this video.
- "Wunder gibt es immer wieder", 1970, 3rd place
- "Diese Welt", 1971, 3rd place
- "Theater", 1980, 2nd place

How many times you want to represent Switzerland?
Peter: Yes
Sue: Yes
Marc: Yes
Never won
It should be:
Peter: Oui
Sue: Ja
Marc: Si
(Just for the sake of SUI's linguistic and ethnic diversity.)
Peter sues marc
Dima Bilan too - 2006 the 2nd, and 2008. the 1st.
Doris Dragovic returned and slayed. Would love her to represent Croatia again
Nonsense. She was first classy, the returned trashy!
Vicky Leandros Participated in 1967 And he won in 1972 I missed her
I'm surprised to see so many artists representing different countries.
Always remember son you are vengeance -hamilcar
Udo Urgens from Austria participated three times in-a-row before winning in 1966
Nice!
Thank you! 🙏
Joyous
I usually find that the second attempt does worse, but there’s a lot of these!
I loved Na Inat so much
Love the vid...but no Vicky Leandros? apologies ive just seen the above comment 😊
Can you make the same video with artists woh did better in their first attempt?
