  • @rokkfilms
    @rokkfilms 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome! I think that shot with the painter was amazing and like how you explained it. So there are two women in the shot. One on the side of him and one behind him. But when the camera pushes in with the wide shot it's hard to see the lady behind him sitting at the desk, but the attention is on him mainly, so you don't really think about it until you see her behind him in the close up. But a very cool video man, thanks again.

    In the wide steadicam shot where the painter is at the easel, we can see hard shafts of light raking the floor, but on the next shot pushing into his face the floor is clean. Any idea if they flew in a silk or just waited for the sun to move?

    • @zhezpac
      @zhezpac 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      me too

    • @DanielFewchuk
      @DanielFewchuk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The 'framework' is a general term he uses for a collection of techniques to make awesome looking shots, such as:
      ///upstage key - soft key light between the actor and background, not between camera and actor
      ///negative fill, negative fill, then more negative fill - to add contrast and drama to the face
      ///creating layers - people/shapes at different distances in the shot
      ///shooting into the 'L of the room' - putting the background far away for shallow dof
      ///salt and pepper all across backgrounds and faces - patches of dark and light to add contrast
      ///no 'sun sandwiches' - don't put the sun behind someone and try to reflect the sunlight into their face, just use it as a rim light
