Whenever I watch you I realise how much I have to learn, and I hope I never stop. I'm an editor switched to jack-of-all in my late 30s. I could watch you for hours, and probably will.
I never realized that I was learning so much, that I failed to realize how fucking hilarious you are with these Jokes !! “And then you can easily slap them” followed by “ (smack) you get back to work !” 😂😂😂
hey Patrick. Thanks alot for your content! I am a Cinematographer myself and when I come home it is so relaxing to watch one of your videos and keep diving into our beautiful profession. Sadly I watched all your videos in yt now, some of which I watched numerous times. Keep it up and all the best to you! Thank you from across the world
Thanks as always Patrick! If you could include the name or link of commercial would be great and also go more in depth in terms of framing and lens choices🙏
Invaluable insight! Even without the massive lighting rigs and large spaces, this info will help to improve the look of even the smallest scale and low-budget projects. Great content!
Lovely video as always. I do take issue with the notion that "flat to camera is not good." Maybe it's not popular these days but perhaps in a few years time we will be back to seeing hard light and low ratios again when people get tired of soft wrap.
Great things to point out on that "level 4 and 5" stuff. Creating some depth with foreground elements. And the practicals that contrast within the image of the lights that match our sun
Great breakdown as always! In the wide shot, isnt the key light coming from the window just beside them? By looking at the light at her leg, it looks so sidelit instead of from the window we cant see
Great Videos as always. Learning a lot from you Sr! To me one of the best cinematography Chanels on TH-cam. Can you please let me know the name of the commercial? Thanks!
In the wide shot, the key light still seems quite soft. Is the light diffused on the outside of the windows or are they lighting the key through the sheers on the right? And going in closer, how do you usually keep the levels when adding a 4x4 diffusion? Augmenting with another light on the inside or brightening up the one on the outside?
Another great breakdown! Wanted to ask, how do you keep the fire alarms from going off while you use a hazer/smoke machine at any indoor location? Do you have to have a fire marshal every time to turn off the building's detectors or how does one get around that?
Love your videos. How do you draw on your videos in Davinci? I own an iPad with a pencil but all I can use is Davinci Annotation which doesn't work on the color page but you seem to be able to.
Thanks, learning so much from your great videos. Question: Could you do some break downs of actual movie scenes, I think this would add more variety to your lessons and be very helpful to your viewers. Best Wishes Dave

Love the breakdowns I learn so much, but as a favor is it possible to be sharing the links to the adverts you are discussing?
