Before Michael J. Fox was in Back to the Future, my dad, Keith Elliot Greenberg, interviewed him for Teen Beat magazine. It was Fox's first time in New York, ever. After the article was published, Fox was so happy with it that he personally called my father to thank him.
He was 22 going on 23 at the time Michael recalls that he was filming Teen Wolf and Family Ties at the time. This commerical was shot sometime in late 1984 since 1985 was the year we started using aluminum cans.
the idea of this commercial is totally awesome...they rocked with commercials back in the 80's....and Michael J. Fox makes that add even more awesome. I love MJF...he's one of my all time fave actors =D
I remember this! Michael J. Fox has always been one of my favorite actors, all the way up to "Spin City". And I still am a fan of his, and wish him well. HE has never complained about having parkinsons, and I admire his strength and courage.
God, I was 2 when this one came out; it's one of my favorites! You gotta love the fizzing in the paper can. I wish they'd go back to the old Pepsi logo.
It is him! Back to the Future has been my favorite movie since I was two :D He always played on Doc Hollywood, Teen Wolf and Spin City :) And he also wrote two books! As you can tell, I
I learned that he played his own daughter on Back to the Future Part Two today. It totally suprised me because I never suspected it. Partly because I never bothered to look but when it was pointed out to me it was actually kinda obvious. Love MJF
They should bring back the old pepsi can. It's way better than the one they have now. I don't know why, but I think I would buy one if they changed the can back even though I don't drink soda anymore.
i think it would be cool if tv ads did a little throw back and show retro ads of products that havent really changed, like this, that are still in the market.
My copy of it is from an ad agency sample tape of that season's ads that includes ads that aired and didn't air -- pending approval from corporate. This one got approved.
would love to watch videos for employment, love viideos like this, and this is making me want pepsi right now, and nice to see Michael Fox, so cool, just listening to him drink, can taste it, would love to watch more videos, if this could be my employment would love it, make more videos keep up good work
Funny commercial -- still is. When Fox was asked why he did it, he is said to have replied, "Metamucil hasn't gotten in touch." Keep the faith, Mike -- there has to be a cure around the corner.
"NOT FOR AIR"? Too late -- thanks to the power of TH-cam! :D This is pretty eerie, though... It's like getting a glimpse into Marty McFly's everyday life, outside of the "BTTF" story. Or perhaps it's Marty McFly Jr.? Magical copy machines that can print soft drinks sounds more like 2015 technology to me...
Don't get me wrong! I love Michael Jackson...(for all those who are giving me thumbs down)... Its just, when we're talking about who kinda reminds me of MJ based on looks...Let's just say Michael J. Fox wouldn't be the first person to come to mind.
now i'm thirsty.... dammit the paper pepsi thing didnt work for me, all i got was a paper cut :P i miss these old comercials from my childhood era, tnks for posting it :)

"Hey, if you want a Pepsi, you've got to pay for it, son!"
Well, this ad proves not.
He was 22 going on 23 at the time Michael recalls that he was filming Teen Wolf and Family Ties at the time. This commerical was shot sometime in late 1984 since 1985 was the year we started using aluminum cans.

I wonder what would have happened if one of those people called him a chicken?
*Ronald Reagan and Ayatollah Komeni arguing*
MARTY: Guys? Guys! All I want is a Pepsi.
"Does somebody have any.....change?"

Back when commercials had a meaning
That's the first library I've ever seen with a Pepsi machine in it. I remember seeing this along with Saturday morning cartoons.

That's an excellent point. I wouldn't be surprised if that scene from Back to the Future was the entire inspiration for this commercial!

This commercial is a classic, along with the McDonalds commercial where the boy sitting in class pulls Chicken McNuggets out of his book.

Even ads in the 80s seemed better than they are now, let alone music and everything :P
For some reason, this commercial always makes me want to have a Pepsi. My mouth waters every time I watch it and I don't even like Pepsi that much.
Shhhhh ... We are going back to the future

Sign of the times...change is no longer necessary at a pop machine, but even so, a can will run more than a buck nowadays anyway!
