This is one of the design faults on the trident clutch (and there are many) that the lever on the actuator is not long enough, if it was long enough it would get more leverage on the actuator and a lighter clutch
Hey Chris, did it work well without the two springs? I installed my clutch operating mechanism yesterday and came here to check for your advise on how to set it. One of my springs has a crack ... Now after listening to you and checking the price /~,£10) I am thinking of leaving them out? What are your experiences? Cheers from Germany!
Yes, it worked fine without the springs! However, it didn't make the clutch any lighter as the springs aren't that strong, so there's no real benefit to leaving them out. The main way to achieve a light clutch that disengaged easily is to adjust everything so there's no play at all - or even a bit tight - but with actuating lever still at the bottom of its travel. Good luck. 👍👍👍
Good job Chris. Almost done .
Yeehah!! Just the starter motor and carbs to do - exciting! 👍👍👍
