- It's been a month since the Energy Generator mechanic was added to Vanguard, and now a couple weeks since we got proper cards that make use of it. And I'll be honest - my thoughts on this mechanic have changed COMPLETELY in these 2 weeks.

I can’t stop seeing energy cards and energy generator like speed world and speed counters, it’d also be cool if they come up with different versions of energy generator

You can always ask your opponent whether they have g-zone or not and they cannot lie on that.
Correct! But they only have to answer for the G Zone.
I do enjoy Energy entirely because of its self management aspect. Having a resource that cannot be denied by your opponent (until Bushi releases some card that reduces energy in the opponent's generator, you know it'll happen) is pretty nice to have.
I really hope that they keep introducing defensive uses for energy like the Common Order Cycle and the Gun Cycle. It both solves the "we want defensive mechanics" demand that have been going on for most of D's life on top of creating a even more complex push and pull bluff game for the players. It's win win!
always gaining 3 energy per turn, nothing more and nothing less is so interesting and differentiates itself from soul where it relies on other cards/riding to gain soul. there's like different nuances to managing each resource !

I like using the energy cards more than the coin because it fills the playmat as well as gives me somwthing else to do and looks cool
I don't use the coin, but use an acrylic figure, like a small one, so i can flex my waifus :>
And also because I usually already have too much on the playmat @@

I'm still annoyed that they haven't updated the rules and mechanics in dear days too keep up with the physical card game I've spent 360$ on that game if they release a new game with these mechanics I'm considering opting out of digital bushiroad titles
Hate to said it that one of the reason why I decided not to buy it. Also Master Duel despite not perfect, its better.

I'd rather Konami make a sequel to "Capsule Monsters Colosseum" on all platforms.
Or maybe a rush duel simulator with up to date cards instead of the current player interaction devolving into.

Unfortunately Dear Days has become an abandoned simulator even though they dropped more DLC they still haven't updated the game too the new rules
it can't be that hard to change the how many cards are allowed in the ride deck for the energy mechanic and adjust the script to exclude the ride deck for the total deck count to match the TCG rules
Honestly i find energy to be one of the most nicest mechanics they had introduced in a while.
I also like Enegry is whats going to make standard have an more unqiue idenitiy, comparing to v and premuim
Another point i know an friend made as well, is Enegeries even became an great outlet for orders too
Dolls wants to go second also because you can call 3 dolls, then gain a drive
it's a much needed new complexity, depth, and design space needed for vanguard, as long as they keep designing exciting cards, it will be great
Honestly energy seems is pretty cool mechanic that will only get better with time. I'm more interested in how it will impact deck design and deck building. A brand new deck whose main gimmick is that it stronger or weaker depending on much energy is stored very gundam 00 like. Will we get cards that slow down energy generation to gain impressive abilities or hinder the opponent's plays? Cards that allow us to circumvent energy costs, similar to units like hendrina? Or cards that allow us to exceed energy limits? Even give us brand new effect triggers that utilize energy not just for like 5000 extra shield value but other interesting effects,like minus 5000 power from a opponent unit. All in all this divineZ era interesting,as long as we don't get stale gimick designs like overlord the deck for every nation since thats been done to death.

I looked up the price for just one copy of Energy Generator, and based on TCG player, it can be as low as $14, which all players playing in Standard would have to cough up that much in order to continue playing.
I have two energy user cards that i'm waiting for english ver from DZ set 2, Dragritter Dirgham and Piercing Equip Dragon Argneas, i really need them for my Nirvana and Gandeeva support soon
So good equivalent is either (soul blast:1 = counter blast: 1 = energy blast: 3) or (counter blast: 1 + soul blast: 1 = energy blast: 2) in a way?

The rule when u can ask ur opp if they are using a strude deckset was only a jp chabge right ? If it happens in English ur opp doesn't need to specify right

Can I use items like dice as an alternative energy counters to determine my energy count or is it strictly the energy counters for example on official tournaments?
For official tournaments it strictly has to be the energy counters I'm afraid
What you put on the energy counter can be your own thing, so if you have some small figure or something you wanna put to track the energy, that's fine as long as it's small enough

Wtf are bushi doing like are we all just ignoring how much extra bullshit they added too this game. Imaginary gifts, crests and now energy. While aslo soft removal of clans? Like this isn’t the vanguard we fell in love with
it isn't, it's changed.
Well, you could always just play the old eras with simulators or proxy cards, or even your OG decks if you still have them. The absolute biggest problem is, of course, finding people to play with.
Just get used to it or... move on, I guess.

@@asylum6093 back in the OG era, after the 4th season of Cardfight Vanguard "Legion Mate" a sequel series was announced known as Cardfight Vanguard G that took place a number of years later in setting with a brand new protagonist known as Shindou Chrono, to replace the previous Main Character Sendou Aichi. So it is once more after Will + Dress season 3 and the start of DivineZ. The new protagonist is Myodo Akina, replacing Kondo Yu-yu.

Wait i thought energy generator acted as a crest and u are only allowed to have one at a time? So stride decks dont use energy generator
The Energy Generator is a Ride Deck Crest, whereas all other Crests are just Crests you get by effects. Therefore, Stride decks have access to both, and so do decks like Mushiking.
