- All LEGO Town sets from 1978 to 1987! Andy Bell's awesome collection displayed at BrickFair Alabama 2015. All the town sets from 1978 to 1987 (although there is one Special Edition Maersk truck that was not included). Andy started building in the summer and filling in the missing parts. I was of a little help - not much - lol! I provided the Canada Post bricks and a couple of pins to hold the helicopters. ALso added the original minifigure - first official set with minfigure - the policeman from set 600. It was amazing seeing people say "I had that when I was kid!" Great time at BrickFair. Thanks to Andy for sharing his collection at BrickFair.

Late 70s and 80s was best era, 12v 7740 passenger train set etc
I always love to see these classic setups
The Brick Must Go On me too!
I'm 48 years old and I still have about 25 sets from that collection as well. Awesome video!
My favorite theme of all times.
00:46 the happiest patient in an emergency situation
The best of lego history. I realy like this town
This video is brought to you by the time machine. What a nostalgia trip
Wow this collection puts it all into perspective... what they achieved with limited colors too
This is the layout I dreamed of as a kid, while looking in the back of instruction booklets and mini catalogues.
Lego cities are always chaotic and violent! I mean look at all those fire fighters and police! xD
Anyway really awesome vintage town!
Qui-Gon Jinn Lol! And it's only getting worse - of course today the criminals are easy to spot because they never change out of their prison gear. Back in the 80s they looked like everybody else - lol
such a great toyline and a great happy video
Thanks for this video. Brings back so many memories!
Glad you enjoyed it!
THIS is lego.. not the crap they do nowadays
Every town set I ever owned as a kid was on display. Imagine that.
lol! Hard to miss one with Andy - he is pretty thorough
You had more than one??? You must have been terribly spoiled.
@@ratbatnufftime2861 no, rich parents,
This is my dream!!
That's really impressive.
Hobbs Bricks Loved seeing it!
This and city are the best themes
Very nice 😀
Awesome. Really looks like a old cataloge from the 80th
dominofan0803 It does! I forgot to highlight that there is actually a building in this that was in catalog picture but never was a set
wow! Awesome!
Thanks!
I would like to have some list of all Lego Legoland houses. They were very nice and there is not payed much attention to it (6365, 6683, 6364, 6384, etc. ...)
Man these sets now are so rare and expensive
Memories are flowing back. Thanks for this video :)
Hallo BrickTzar, this is great. I have three 1990's sets, Fire, Airport Police ship. Extra bricks as well as enough plates to beginn a 3 X 5 (Ikea table size) Town. Watching + learning Lego since 7/20 in prep for 11/20 after i move. A vague idea is starting to take shape and falling into places. An Adventure to build and to enjoy like I did in the 60's on the carpet of the living room with my Lego. A huge Thank you, Carol
wow awesome collection!!
I love the soundtrack you picked to go with this video. Has a late 70's feel to it! Love it.
I heard that the Maersk truck is pretty rare and sought-after no wonder that this collection is missing it
Did you also hear there isn’t just one Maersk truck?
great!
@1:05 I had the light and sound police van. The black truck with the chopper on the trailer. The crane, The small plane, The police van with the side open. The hospital.
@1:06 I had, the fire station, the police station, the gas/petrol station, the light and sound fire engine.
@1:10 the fire truck with the extending boom
@2:42, the small open top black car
@3:28, the garbage truck / bin lorry
@3:36, the motorcycle shop
@3:55, The yellow 4x4 with the blue bike on the trailer, The house with the red roof and canopy ( far right ) the white camper with the boat on the trailer
@3:59, The yellow motorcycle shop
@4:27, The front loader, the airport,
Just in this one video, I'm reliving so many good childhood memories
Love all those old sets! So much going on, it could take hours to really see it all. and then you turn the corner... Andy did a great job!
I like the inclusion of the Lego Village People, quite vintage!
WOW!! Super Cool.
DownUnder Bricks thanks
It's like living in your own town!
Excellent collection!
I would've kept on collecting (1978-present). Great video, thanks for posting!
These all fit together nicely. After this time, the building style changed more. I have sets from all eras of Lego. Next year we may pick another time period or expand on another Lego idea book
Not even close to every set. There were about 5 Fire Stations,3 Police Stations, lots of other sets that are missing. But this is an amazing Legoland, and besides, who needs Engine #9 Fire Station if you have the Snorkel Pumper and Fire Station 6382!
Submit a list of the sets you think were missing. Not everything was shown in detail but every set is there even exclusives (although some were just pieces together without special stickers)
Nice collection!
The Knights with the Town Square set are wrong. As are the helmets on the 1987 police station.
Andy just built them as best he could. Also didn't have stickers of rare items.
Nice set! Brings back fond memories of my childhood. Have kept all mine boxed up to show my kids when they are a little older.
It’s was not a single set. Which set are you talking about? There were hundreds in the video
Between myself and my best friend, as kids in the mid 80's and thereabouts, we had a good number of these sets. Endless Saturday afternoons during the winter and rainy days playing with these!
I dearly thank you for this video! These sets are from my personal favorit eras of LEGO.
Mikael Sol Thanks for watching!
Awesome collection, video, and funky music! ;)
Collection started in the disco era - lol
Awesome!
I enjoyed being there to see it
BrickTsar Did you guys have a booth?

Ingo Cernohorsky thanks for watching!
It's so beautiful :') ! It's so amazing how big it is! By the way I really like your choice of music for this video!
that was amazing , loved watching that , saw all my sets there !! makes me wanna grab my base and street plates and flip it all together :)
This layout is not from only old lego town.
Nice collection! Was that the Village People @1:32?
This seems my basement enhanced by 1000%!!!
I have many of those sets but this is Awesome!
Nice video, it never gets old looking at this setup
Thanks for coming to see it in person!
So cool! Brings back the memories..
All_IN_ Bricks Thanks for watching!
I saw set 106 the unicef truck too bad it doesn't have its two veryyy expensive rear printed panels
We are the Village People in your town YMCA disco boogie boogie
Haha, bad ma cop and bad dad cop house!
Cool! I am glad you saw that. Andy built that based on the movie
My childhood generation
Born 1977
your video reached brazil city of são paulo
Muito bom
👏👏👏👏👏
Will there be a follow up video to cover the 90s?
There is too much stuff I think
I see 25 sets I have had in my possession, of which 19 I have. Your collection is really good.
don't see the red pigtailed hair is that rare
It is on Mary. There are at least 3 in this set up, but I am not sure if I got them all on the film.
I found one in my collection
there is a white one in the building ideas book from around 1987. I always wondered which set her headpiece came from? Very rare.
I've spotted a couple of Lego sets I have here!
Dear brick tsar., I would like to inform you that target stores across the nation are having big lego sales I suggest you go and grab some. They are trying to clear there inventory/shelves by February. I suggest to pick up some good salvaging sets to put in inventory for your bricklink store.
That is amazing! and i bet it cost a fortune
Wow! Is he working on other years?
AFOL MAN Next time we may try a different time period. This one was good because most of the sets are pretty quick builds
This is also the time period I like the most. :O) I like the transition from pre-minifig to minifig scale. What might be interesting is to see the town sets with the Legoland figs which then become statues 1592 in 1980 side by side. Many people don't even know those figs were around.
That is right! I like this time period too. I think the building all fit together nicely. No criminals. It was a happy world - everybody smiling - lol!
BrickTsar What about the statue figure era?
BrickTsar What about 1969-1977?
4:42 the police van with working beacons is from 1989, even though your video says all sets are until 1987. ?????
Didn’t say there wouldn’t be other items in there
@@BrickTsar oh
Supergooe 6381 is there. I see the camera man. The cars may be involved in the race or an accident
Actually he is right. 6381 Motor Speedway is not present. The cameraman is 6659 from 1986. The reason 6381 is not there is because initially I was going to run through 1988 which included the Victory Lap Raceway and 6394 Metro Park & Service tower - BUT there just was not enough table space. I had all the 1988 sets except the Bank. So when I moved back to 1987 I dropped the 6381 because in my mind they were from the same year! Which they are not! The bonus sets from 1988 included in the layout are 6674 Crane Truck, 6356 Med-Star Rescue, 6357 Stunt 'Copter N' Truck and 6349 Vacation Home. AND since I like houses I added 6592 Vacation Hideaway (1990) which is the house with the yard fire at the far end.
I thought I missed it!
I was looking to try to find the 1981 fire station.
I know Andy Bell! I buy from his brick link
Cool! He's a great seller.
I'm looking, but I'm not seeing mine.
Bet that cost alot
Dinosaurs? Cowboys + Indians? 80s ???
Is that a question or a comment? I’m not sure what the reply should be
it states this is lego up to'87, yet the pieces I mentioned - featured in this video - are from 1997-2001
Serene Chaos UK there is no rule that other things cannot be in the video
