English in England is so weird. Who knew that “exit” and “extract” are interchangeable there.

It's just used in the same way that 'Extraction' is used but shortened to fit the urgency of the convo. Extraction shooters, like Escape from Tarkov use the term 'Extract' when they leave the zones, for example, "lets extract quick" or "lest get to the extract". It's very common now.

@@cpzmelbs Yeah allow me to be a bit more direct for the uneducated in this thread; his usage of the term "extract / extraction" was incorrect. They are used with direct objects. If someone is going to extract themselves, the correct terms are "exit", "leave", "peace", "take off" etc. etc.

To extract oneself from a situation is perfectly acceptable.
Are you going to correct a whole genre of game? There are such games that are 'Extraction shooters'. Its a very common phrase used now.
